“Okay,” Lysander responded. He then left the sanatorium and went to meet with Commander Grayson. 

After the dinner with the Grayson family, Lysander talked about work with Commander Grason before he said goodbye. 

Magnus looked at Lysander and asked, “Are we going to the hotel?” 

Lysander looked at his watch and said, “Let’s go home directly.” 

“Now?” Magnus was surprised. “It will be midnight when we get home.” 

“Hit the road.” Lysander was worried about Elara though she had said nothing on the phone… Therefore, he was determined to go home.

“I hurried home to see you after I got the job done.” Lysander’s gaze was on Elara. Lysander took off his coat, threw it aside, and picked up Elara. 

It was a piece of cake for Lysander to carry Elara. Elara looked at her husband and said, “What are you doing? Did you come back because you are horny?” 

Lysander shot one glance at Elara for her last question and then placed her on the bed. He tucked her in and asked, “You didn’t sleep, did you?” 

“I did, but I didn’t sleep well.” 

“What happened?” Lysander observed Elara and found her not as high–spirited as usual. 

His stare made her cover her head with the blanket, so her voice became a bit muffled. “Nothing.” 

Lysander sat on the bed and helped Elara cover her feet which were exposed outside the blanket. He said nothing, so silence fell. 

In the end, Elara couldn’t help but put her head out and then found Lysander sitting by her side. 

‘He is silently keeping me company… Elara thought. Gazing at Lysander, she suddenly felt that tears stung her eyes 

Lysander lowered his head, kissed Elara on the cheek, and gently looked into her eyes. “What’s wrong? Who hurt you? Are you in trouble?” 

“No. Something is confusing,” Elara explained. “So, I can’t help but keep thinking about it.” Reason told her that Evelyn and Hazel were right, but…

Lysander looked at Elara and asked, “Would you like to share it with me?” 

Elara sat up, took the pillow into her arms, looked at Lysander, and said, “Evelyn doesn’t want me to take the case about Emily, and neither does Hazel. Both of them think that this case is thankless. Besides, there are many pitiful people like Emily, and I can’t help all of them.” 

Looking Elara in the eyes, Lysander asked, “What is your opinion?” 

“I felt obliged to help Emily, but I then remember Asher… I sympathized with Asher, but…”
