Ethan put down the files and polled a prepared divorce agreement from his drawer.

“Take a look and see if anything needs changing ”
Maybe because it had been a long time since we last spoke, Ethan was cold when I greeted him.
I hit my lip, feeling guilty as I took the papers from him

“Divorce isn’t something to take lightly.”

“Well, I have you handling it, so I trust you.
Ethan’s face softened, and he put the papers away.
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow at noon. What do you want to eat?”
I was taken aback, then instinctively said,
“Let’s just eat at home. Outside food isn’t very clean.”
Because of a hereditary heart condition, our son has always had a weak immune system.
He gets sick easily, even with the slightest change in weather, and his stomach is especially sensitive.
So I always try to avoid letting him eat outside food, fearing it might upset his stomach.
That’s why he’s always loved babella, who indulges him.
I thought about this, my gaze dimming
“Alright”
Ethan’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
“What?”
Ethan looked at me seriously and said.
“Tomorrow at 10 m., I’ll pick you up.”
“We’ll go over the details after breakfast, and then meet with Nathaniel’s lawyer in the afternoon.”
Something felt off, but I nodded.
Ethan is my only friend in the city, so I was happy to have him over for a meal.
