Maggie and Johnny weren’t the least bit surprised by the outcome.
They had more important things to attend to and had no intention of lingering.
As the two men walked past them without even a glance, the already grim expressions on Logan and Julia’s faces
darkened further.
Since moving to the capital, the Brown family had done reasonably well, thanks to Franklin’s support. Because of Franklin’s relationship with Julia, many in the industry knew about their company.
But recognition was mostly limited to their social circle.
They still hadn’t made a real mark in the broader market.
Until now, their biggest barrier had been the lack of proprietary technology.
Now that they had finally made a breakthrough, this Smart City project was supposed to be their turning point–a major milestone that would put Brown Tech on the map.
Their team had poured over a month of effort into this bid, investing massive manpower and resources. They were convinced the project was already in the bag.

After Maggie and Johnny left, Logan and Julia sat in stunned silence for a long time, unable to move.
Back home, the Brown and Green families were all paying close attention to the outcome of the bid.
Before long, Sophia couldn’t hold back and called Julia.
“Sis, did the results come out yet? Did we win?”
Julia’s voice was calm. “No.”

“It was Cole.”
“What?!” Sophia’s face changed. “Cole? Weren’t they not participating? How-”
Realizing what must’ve happened, she gritted her teeth. “It has to be that bitch. She’s jealous of you. She can’t stand how well brother–in–law treats you, so she’s going out of her way to sabotage us!”
Then she sneered. “The more she does this, the more brother in law will hate her. I’m calling him right now and telling him everything!”
Julia cut her off coolly. “Cole and Wilson Corporation are closely collaborating right now. Even if Tingshen wanted to do something, he can’t touch her at the moment.”
Sophia hesitated. “Then… what do we do? We just let it go?”
Julia said nothing.
Maybe they couldn’t touch Maggie now–but that didn’t mean they never would.
When the elders of the Brown and Green families heard what had happened, they were furious.
This project represented the future of Brown Tech. It wasn’t just business–it was vital.
They couldn’t allow Maggie to continue interfering.
“It was bad enough that she sabotaged Julia over Mr. Nolan and Johnny,” someone said. “Now she’s threatening the future of our company? If she keeps targeting us like this-
“I know,” Logan replied. “I’ll find a chance to talk to her.”
The stakes were too high to ignore this any longer.

The next day, Maggie arrived at Cole as usual. Just as she stepped out of her car in the parking lot, a familiar voice
called out-
