Rex did not leave; he stayed by Julia’s side.
A moment later, just as Julia was about to look for Franklin, Franklin’s figure had already disappeared from Maggie’s side.
But Maggie was still talking with Jordan..
Given how familiar Jordan and Rex were, it was only natural they greeted each other upon meeting.
After the greeting, Rex introduced, “Uncle Jordan, this is-”
Jordan smiled, cutting him off:
“Miss Brown, we’ve met before.”
Julia politely greeted Jordan.
Jordan nodded with a smile and then turned her attention back to Maggie.
“Maggie still very busy lately?”
Though the conference had ended, this was still a public setting, yet Jordan addressed Maggie warmly as “Maggie,” and her tone toward Maggie was noticeably gentler than toward Rex.
This clearly showed Jordan’s genuine admiration and fondness for Maggie.
Maggie nodded. “Yes.”
She could definitely feel Jordan’s appreciation.
The last time they met, Maggie had greeted Jordan as usual.
Only when Rex approached did she suddenly recall that Jordan was Jimmy’s father
Thinking about Jimmy’s pursuit of her, Maggie wasn’t uneasy in front of Jordan–after all, nothing had happened yet between her and Jimmy.
Julia lowered her gaze.
Although Jordan’s attitude toward her was neither cold nor dismissive, compared to how he treated Maggie, the difference was quite obvious.

It felt like he had no real desire to get close to her–or to appreciate her in any meaningful way.
Normally, Jordan would have mentioned Wilson Tech, after all.
Julia had been invited to this conference, so logically, that would have been a natural topic.
That thought made her smile thinly.
Rex, however, didn’t notice Jordan’s coolness toward Julia, but he did see that Jordan clearly wanted to chat longer with Maggie.
Though Ren didn’t like Maggie, he didn’t want to interrupt Jordan’s business.
After greeting Jordan, Rex left with Julia.
Julia noticed Rex’s impression of Maggie seemed unchanged from before.
Suddenly, as if recalling something, she said,
“It seems like Mr. Hall and Mr. Hardin both like Miss Miller quite a bit. Not long ago, Franklin and I even ran into Miss Miller and Johnny–Mr. Hall, Mr. Hardin–they were all playing golf together…”
Rex’s surprise showed clearly.
“My father and Uncle Jordan played golf with Maggie and Johnny?”
“Yeah. Miss Miller and them seem pretty familiar. It doesn’t look like the first time they’ve met.”
Julia smiled, then looked at him in surprise:
“Mr. Hardin, didn’t you know Miss Miller and your father are acquainted?”
Rex frowned, shaking his head. “No. My father never mentioned it.”
Julia saw through this.
Lowering her eyes, she thought back to their last meeting.
She had sensed that Reed actually liked Maggie quite a lot. She had assumed Rex would have heard about Maggie from him, and that it might have softened his attitude toward her.
But, unexpectedly…
Jordan was also busy.
After chatting with people for a while, Maggie went off to attend to other matters.
Chapter 339
Soon, seeing a gap, Maggie quietly left the hall.
Noticing Maggie preparing to leave, Harry felt something stir inside and said to Franklin beside him,
“Franklin, I have to leave first.”
Franklin turned around.
“Not joining us for dinner?”
Harry shook his head. “No.”
“Alright.” Hearing this, Franklin didn’t push further.
“Once you’re free, we can get together again.”
Harry replied, “Sure.”
