“Naturally.” Tyson replied. “I’ll send someone to renovate your house properly. In the meantime, go stay at Nolan’s place. If he’s unhappy about it, just let me know.”
Grateful to have Tyson on her side, Elaine nodded cagerly. “Thank you. When can I move in?”
Tyson glanced at Julio, who was standing by the door. “Julio, have the driver take Ms. Elaine to Nolan’s place immediately. Make sure she’s treated properly. Don’t allow her to be neglected.”
“Yes, sir.”
Julio turned to Elaine with a polite gesture. “Ms. Elaine, this way, please.”
Seeing her plan come to fruition, Elaine obediently followed Julio out the door.
At the second–floor window, Tyson watched as the car pulled away, his expression cooling the moment she disappeared from view.
Julio returned to the study and asked, “Mr. Hayes, are you really going to get involved for Ms. Elaine? Halbert came to Westbrook too–Tristan clearly values his sister. And even without Halbert, Ronaldo and Christian aren’t people to take lightly.”
“I know,” Tyson said calmly. “You think the Sue family actually wants Eliza to be with Nolan? Don’t be ridiculous. Tristan dotes on that girl. No way would he let a man with a fiancée sniff around her. It’s a miracle Nolan’s still breathing. I was just playing along with Elaine. You really think I’d dare touch Eliza?”
Eliza wasn’t the same girl she’d once been in Westbrook.
Backed by the overseas Sue family, she now had the power to walk through the city like it was her own.
What Tyson couldn’t understand was why Eliza would suddenly storm into Elaine’s home and destroy everything.
She didn’t seem like the type to act so recklessly.
“Go find out what really happened. Tell the renovation team to thoroughly inspect every corner of that room. See if they find anything useful.”
“Yes, sir.”
Tyson stepped out of the study and noticed a maid loitering nervously nearby. He offered her his signature gentle smile.
“Miss, I’m not sure what truly happened tonight. If you can be honest with me, I’ll make sure your yo lady gets justice.”
As he spoke, he slowly pulled a check from his pocket–half a million. More than a maid could ever hope to
see.
The maid stared at the zeros on the check, her hands trembling. Then she spoke quickly, “I don’t know the whole story, but I think Ms. Elaine did something wrong first. Ms. Sue came in with a man who had a scar on his face. They didn’t say much, just started smashing things. I think they were trying to destroy

The maid nodded cagerly. “I’m certain! He was actually very handsome, but the scar made him look fierce.
How many scar–faced yet attractive men could there be in Westbrook?
And anyone hanging around Eliza definitely wasn’t ordinary.
“Mr. Hayes, could it have been Matteo?” Julio suggested.
He’d once seen Matteo–Nathaniel’s adopted son–at a banquet. Matteo had a reputation as Nathaniel’s ruthless right hand, though Nathaniel had never given him any real power, fearing his ambition.
Based on the maid’s description, Julio was increasingly convinced that the man with Eliza was Matteo,
“What would Matteo have to do with any of this?” Tyson frowned, unable to see the connection.
Eliza was just a young socialite. How could she have crossed paths with someone like Matteo?
“I’m not sure either, but I’ll start looking into it.”
“Do it.”
“Yes, sir.”
The driver had already dropped Elaine off at Nolan’s house.
It was her first time learning his new address–she hadn’t known where he lived since he moved.
But Tyson did. That surprised her.
Upstairs, Nolan had heard the noise. Tyson’s driver immediately knocked on the door and announced, “Mr. Hayes, our sir sent us. He needs to speak with you. It’s about Ms. Sue.”
Nolan hadn’t planned on opening the door.
But when he heard it was about Eliza, he reconsidered–and unlocked it.
