I drove through the busy streets, wondering how it was so busy so early in the morning. I had woken up as early as possible and all I had to do was get to the office before anyone else did.

I pushed the door open and stepped into the office, slamming it shut as I did. I had tried to convince myself that I wasn’t angry, but the truth was that I was, and I had the right to be.
“Take a deep breath, Nolan.” My wolf, Emerald, whispered through my mind. I groaned and slammed my fist against the table, trying to get out as much frustration as I could.
“I don’t know, I really don’t know,” I muttered to myself, before sitting down as he instructed. I took slow deep breaths and steadied my breathing and after a while, all the anger that I felt had almost disappeared, but I knew that it was only for a
moment.
“Alpha?” I heard suddenly, it was Xander’s voice and he was using the mind link. We hadn’t used it in a while, and I was hoping that this was for a pretty good reason.
“Xander?” I replied, expecting him to go on with what he wanted to say.
“Nothing much, Nolan, just wondering if you’d like me to come today, considering what happened last night you know, if you want to talk.”
“I’m alright, Xander,” I said softly, not wanting to sound dismissive.
“Are there any updates from the pack, not about what happened last night, about the important things, our boundaries, and stuff like that?”
“There’s nothing to worry about, Alpha. Everything is under control. I just thought, maybe-”
“I’m fine, Xander. Really, I’m good.” I cut in sharply, already tired of him asking. I opened my eyes, cutting off the mind link as 1 did.
I took a deep breath and brushed through my hair with my fingers. I picked up the remote and turned on the television and just then, there was a knock on the door.
I ignored it and focused on the television, knowing that whoever it was, was going to come in after all. But at that moment, I noticed the headline on the television, it was that of my company.
“What the heck?1 muttered softly, trying to read through and understand why we were on the news. It wasn’t a strange thing that we always made the news, but the image showing on the television was different. There were tons of our products sampled and the only place where it was usually sampled was at the warehouse and not wherever that was.
“Boss.” My assistant’s voice echoed softly through the room and turned to look at him. His eyes were fixed on the television, but he looked away as soon as he saw the turn to him

“Blake, do you mind telling qie what the hell this is? I’m sure you know about it.” I said coolly, a dangerous smile playing across my face.
“Umm, Alpha. The thing is, we don’t really have a lot of information at this time, everything came out so suddenly and we only found out this morning”
I was silent, waiting for him to finish.
“Ive sent instructions to production on your behalf, to explain what exactly is going on, because that’s where the problemn is coming from.”
“What is the problem, Blake?” I asked calmly, standing up from my chair. He hesitated, avoiding my eyes. I didn’t know what it was yet, but somehow I figured that it was bad.
I was beginning to get angry again and one of the reasons was that I had a pussy as an assistant, an absolute idiot who was too scared to tell me exactly why the company’s product was being set on fire on live television.
I pointed at the television, increasing the volume with the remote.
“And breaking news,” the anchor’s voice echoed boldly through the screen.
“Authorities have ordered the immediate incineration of a popular product from TechCorp amid serious health concerns…
My heart was racing as I listened and I was wondering what the hell they were talking about
“This comes after a recent investigation was carried out after reports came in that a deadly chemical was being used for production.”
I lowered my eyes and looked below the screen, only to see the life pull up a live stock ticker. The numbers were falling by the second.
“We’re losing millions,” I yelled, turning around to see Blake standing there like a douchbag
“How did this happen?” I yelled, closing the distance between me and him. He moved backward in fear, but stood firm after a few steps.
“I don’t know, Boss. I came as soon as I could.”
“Government sources reveal that a hazardous chemical has been detected in the product, prompting an immediate recall and a 48–hour deadline for TechCorp to respond. Stocks are plummeting as a result. TechCorp must explain the presence of this substance in their product and justify its use. Failure to comply could lead to severe penalties.” I heard in the background as I listened to my assistant.
I covered my face with my hand and shut my eyes, things couldn’t have suddenly gotten worse after last night, I could still hear the discussion on the television.
“Fuvk!” I yelled suddenly, throwing the remote straight at it and smashing it in the process.
“Who is in charge of production?” I yelled, turning to face Blake who looked like he was going to wet his pants.
“It’s your wife, Boss. It’s Zoe.” He said softly, his voice breaking.
