*Navier’s POV
Zoe’s eyes widened in disbelief as my words landed. “What are you talking about?” She asked sharply. She threw her head back and covered her face with her palm as if I had suggested the most terrible thing.
She lowered her head and looked at me, obviously expecting me to say something.
“It’s the only way that I can help you, Zoe. I don’t think there is another option right now. If Em correct, Nolan will kick you out and it’ll be too late for you to realize that things aren’t as they were before.”
I wasn’t trying to make her scared, but the reality of the situation and how serious it was suggested that I was. Her face was pale, as though all the blood had gone out of it and she wouldn’t stop staring at me. She lowered her head and leaned in closer as if someone was going to overhear what she was going to say.
“Nolan will kill me if he finds out. He’s already mad at me as it is, I don’t want to make things worse.” She muttered.

I nodded slowly, thinking about her words. But they didn’t change anything because I already knew what I wanted and sooner or later she was going to give it to me.
“Well, I guess there’s nothing more for us to discuss. I’ll leave you to figure everything out on your own.” I said calmly, pushing my chair backward and then getting up.
Her eyes widened in panic and she quickly got up from her chair, grabbing my arm as she did. “Wait, Alpha Xavier. Just wait.” She said desperately, her breath loud.
She got up and pulled me back to my seat. “You don’t have to leave yet, please sit down.” She whispered softly.
I sat back down and she did the same. We sat in silence for a while and I could see the desperation mixed with nervousness boldly written on her face.
“Isn’t there something else that we can figure out together? Something less…risky?”
“What do you have in mind?” I asked calmly, aware of what she was going to say next.
She remained silent, but just then a small smile crept onto the corner of her lips. She lowered her eyes and I followed her gaze and there I saw it. Her legs were parted slightly under the table and I could see her leaning forward.
I chuckled softly, slightly amused at how predictable she was. “If I wanted to sleep with you, Zoe, I would have asked you to meet me at a hotel,” I said bluntly, my voice echoing that I wasn’t pleased with her suggestion.
She took a deep breath and looked away like a teenager who we had just turned down. She straightened up and closed her legs. “That’s not what I meant.”
I smiled wryly and leaned in closer. “Look, Zoe.” I began.

together. What I’m offering you is a way out. I’ll buy the shares, and take control of the company temporarily while Nolan thinks he’s still in charge. Once everything is back to the way it used to be and even better, I’ll sell it back to you. The only thing I’ll take from this is just a little profit, nothing more.”

“Xavier.” She groaned again, and I knew it was close.
“If you’d like to sit back and watch your life crumble then fine. You’ll lose your place in the company, and eventually, you’ll lose your place as Luna. You’ll have nothing, Zoe. And you and I know that even though I’m married to your sister, Nolan now has his eyes on her now that he’s seen that she’s alive. You’re on thin Ice, Zoe. And I’m just here to help.”

“He won’t trust me,” I replied firmly, looking into her eyes. Her lips were curved into a frown, but after a little while, she smiled and then leaned forward.,
“I still want to have you.” She muttered under her breath, staring at me.
“Then let’s get this done and maybe that will happen,” I replied, thinking about how easy this was.
