Chapter 211
Nancy refused to be affected by what just happened.
Zach stared at Nancy’s side profile for a while. Before him was an intelligent, cultured, and confident woman. În comparison, some people from the Faye Tech team seemed bit overly righteous,
Zach reckoned that Nancy and the woman who developed UN2 must share a lot of things in common.
Perry made no further comments after seeing how things had unfolded.
Instead, he opened WhatsApp and scrolled down until he came across the chat window with Ariel’s name on it. He wanted to ask her some questions, but worried it might seem rather abrupt.
After a moment’s consideration, he found another friend’s number on WhatsApp and sent him a message.
“I sent your business card to a… friend recently. Have you replied to her messages?”
After a while, Liam finally responded to his message.
“You mean the one with the username Ari?
“I turned down her request. I’ve been quite busy lately. Are you guys close?”
Perry furrowed his brows. Since Liam had turned down Ariel’s request, Perry wouldn’t have anything substantial to talk to Ariel about.
Liam sent him another message.
“How about I adjust my schedule and try to make time? That person was quite polite. She didn’t try to bother or pressure me to help her after I turned her down.
Perry traced his finger along the edge of his phone. He reckoned Ariel had probably made some other arrangements. He sent a response. “I’ll let you know again if I do need your help with that.”
The next morning, the Faye Tech team received the response from Nexura Solutions.
Nancy had chosen to back out of the project. Tom will be taking charge instead. He and his team spent the entire night coming up with various plans to tackle the issues that had been raised.
Chad was quite surprised. “I thought your ex–husband would choose to terminate the project and defend Nancy with how much he cared about her.”
Ariel didn’t think much of it. She simply remarked, “Jayson had always been very cool–headed and rational when it came to work–related matters. He could tell better than anyone how well they’d be able to profit in the long term by working on this project with us.”
Chad poured Ariel a glass of water and put it in front of her. “Nancy was quite prudent this time. This was smartest way for her to resolve the problem this time.”
the
It would be much better for her to willingly back out of the project instead of getting removed from the position.
Ariel had offered them a chance to resolve the issue peacefully by sending that message in the group chat yesterday. Since the other party didn’t show any willingness to settle the problem, Ariel went ahead and made the decision for them quickly and effectively.

time negotiating or yielding to the other party’s demands.
Chad knew Ariel was never inherently harsh or difficult; she had always been very decisive and sensible when it came to making important decisions. Still, she wasn’t totally inflexible.
Anyhow, being a bit more forceful sometimes could bring about unexpectedly good results.
At around 10:00 am, Ariel and Janice met up with the top executives of several renewable energy companies to talk about the usage of high specific energy wide temperature range lithium batteries in drones.
When it was almost lunchtime, the two of them went to a restaurant they had been meaning to visit.
Janice went inside the restaurant first to order food. Ariel finally headed toward the building after she was done parking the car.
When she was passing by a private room, Ariel spotted Nancy and Sarah, who were chatting away happily inside the room. Both of them seemed to be in a cheery mood, especially Nancy.
She didn’t seem to be affected in the slightest by the incident involving their project with Faye Tech. Instead, Nancy appeared absolutely bubbly and cheerful.
Ariel averted her gaze and continued walking straight ahead. Just as she turned a corner, Ariel saw Jayson, who was standing in the corridor and smoking a cigarette.
He was obviously here to have lunch with Sarah and Nancy.
Jayson spotted Ariel as well. He didn’t act as if he didn’t see her this time. Instead, Jayson turned around and stared at her expressionlessly.
Ever since they decided to replace Nancy with someone else to lead the project, Jayson had not once questioned the decisions the Faye Tech team had made regarding it. It was as if the incident had never happened in the first place.
That was why Ariel didn’t plan on explaining anything, even though she had run into Jayson here. She continued walking.
Ariel showed zero intention of greeting Jayson.
Jayson could tell that much. He slowly stubbed out his cigarette just as Ariel was getting closer. He snickered.” I’ve hardly ever seen you lose your temper.”
