Chapter 250
On her way to find Chad, Ariel ran into Perry.
He looked at her, then held out a cup of hot chocolate. “Are you looking for Mr. Hockney?”
Ariel glanced at the hot chocolate Perry handed her. It was a cold day, and a warm drink would be comforting. It had most likely been thoughtfully arranged by the Spencer family.
She accepted it with a polite nod. “Yeah. Thank you.”
Perry had actually witnessed her interaction with Kieran just moments ago.
After some serious thought, his usually sharp eyes softened with sincerity. “I didn’t understand Faye Tech’s project well before, but I’ve reviewed the specs of your new release recently. It’s impressive. If the opportunity arises, do you think we could collaborate?”
Ariel was a little taken aback. She hadn’t expected Perry to approach her like this, let alone extend an offer.
Many in their circle questioned why her name was even on the Faye Technologies project. Some took it a step further, doubting the company’s qualifications altogether.
“You actually mean that?” she asked after a pause while eyeing him with suspicion.
Perry caught the guarded look in her expression. Even if he found it disheartening, he nodded slowly. “I believe in Faye Tech’s capabilities.”
He also believed Ariel hadn’t taken any shortcuts or relied on connections, as some had claimed. From what he knew, her professionalism and the feedback he had heard from others had all been solid and fair.
Now Ariel was really surprised. She had assumed Perry, as Jayson’s close friend, would naturally lean toward supporting Veyo Solutions.
“If you’re serious about this, then Faye Tech would welcome the opportunity,” Ariel replied.
She wasn’t sure why Perry would bypass Veyo Solutions, but if his intentions were genuine, she would take it into
account.
If Faye Technologies launched follow–up projects, she would consider Perry when suitable. It would be a way to return his favor.
Ariel didn’t think she knew Perry well enough for a long conversation. After things were made clear, she gave a polite nod and walked away.
Perry watched her decisive figure for a moment before turning his conflicted gaze toward Nancy.
The Spencer residence had an expansive garden.
Ariel strolled around casually, but the chill in her hands and feet made her feel a little off. She decided to head toward the restroom.
Standing by the sink, she frowned and pressed a hand to her lower abdomen, trying to ease the pain.
She had built up a high pain tolerance over time. She just needed to hide away for half an hour or so to push through it.
Gripping the edge of the sink, she took several deep breaths

It wasn’t until she saw Chad’s message asking where she was that she finally turned to head out.
Maybe it was the lingering pain that had drained her strength, but the moment she turned, a wave of dizziness hit her.
Just then, a warm hand caught her arm. Its heat sank deep into her skin with a startling intensity.
She lifted her head and was met with Jayson’s deep eyes.
He studied her with a frown. “Is it that time of the month? Are you not feeling well?”
Before Ariel could answer, Zach, who was talking on the phone, passed by in the hallway. He caught sight of them together and slowed his pace.
He paused mid–sentence, glanced at Ariel with a frown, then gave Jayson a nod before striding off to continue his call.
Ariel couldn’t care less about what Zach thought.
As for Jayson, in the three years they had spent together, he knew her cycle and ovulation dates better than anyone. They always slept together around the same time each month, so it was no surprise he still remembered.
She quickly collected herself and pulled her arm from his grasp before saying calmly, “Thanks.”
She didn’t answer his question.
Standing upright again, she glanced up at him once more. It’s due tomorrow. Shall we schedule for then?”
