Chapter 287
Nancy quickly regained her composure. She didn’t let her negative emotions show, acting as though nothing had happened just now.
Jayson’s gaze drifted toward Ariel. He stared at her briefly. Then, Jayson said monotonously, “Let’s talk a bit more after this is over.”
Chad’s eyes narrowed as he grinned. “Sure.”
If they managed to make a successful bid today, they would have to make sure to assign and distribute work clearly afterward.
Jayson gave a slight nod and headed elsewhere with Nancy
“Say, Jayson’s really determined to secure the project this time. He agreed to all our requests whereby Faye Tech would be taking the lead in the project, whereas Veyo Solutions would mostly be playing the role of assisting.”
Chad clicked his tongue several times, feeling impressed.
Veyo Solutions sought to capitalize on the opportunity to establish a name for itself. Even for the division of profit, Jayson had only asked for the bare minimum for their team.
Ariel pondered for a moment. “He might have some other plans that we don’t know about.”
Jayson was a smart, calculative person. Although the current arrangement was advantageous to Faye Technologies, they still needed to remain vigilant.
Just then, a group of people could be seen coming their way
Chad clearly knew who they were. He grabbed Ariel’s arm and led her toward them.
“Mr. Hockney, long time no see.” The person who came over was one of the judges for today’s event, Travis Zeale. He was a representative sent by the government.
Chad smiled and greeted him as well.
Travis noticed Ariel, who was beside Chad. “Who’s this?”
Ariel smiled softly. “Hello, my name is Ariel Walker. I’m one of Faye Tech’s engineers.”
Travis was rather surprised. He scanned Ariel from top to bottom. He was amazed by how young she was.
Travis knew that most of the people here were some of the best, most competent employees sent by the different companies joining today’s bidding.
He turned his gaze to the people beside him who were also in charge of handling today’s event. Since Chad was there, Travis brought up some tech–related issues to gauge Faye Technologies‘ opinions.
Chad grinned and looked at Ariel. “What are your thoughts on that?”
Ariel understood Chad’s intention almost instantly. She began to share her thoughts, covering topics from sensor fusion to the flight control system.
She spoke in a soothing, steady tone. While she continued with her speech, Ariel had a gentle expression on her face. Her eyes twinkled. She looked so attractive that a few people started stealing glances at her.
Travis, who was calm initially, grew more and more shocked as he listened on. He could not help studying Ariel even more carefully.

Travis assumed Ariel was probably just another smart and insights about the maturity of their technologies. Her view innovative.
pable employee. To his surprise, she had really sharp and ideas were incredibly forward–looking and
Even Jayson, who was chatting with another guest in the distance, started noticing what was happening on Ariel’s side. He lifted his head and looked in her direction.
Nancy picked up on some technical terminology as well. She was quite befuddled to hear Ariel talking about those types of technologies.
She furrowed her brows.
It appeared Chad had made various preparations before bringing Ariel here today. He must have put in a lot of effort just to help Ariel leave a good impression on these people.
Nancy had not heard every word Ariel said. She only managed to catch Ariel sharing a few pieces of information that students majoring in aerospace engineering would normally come across.
Nancy reckoned that Chad had probably written a few passages and asked Ariel to memorize them so that she
could share them here.
“Is she doing this just to stand out a little during the tender?” Nancy wondered.
She frowned at the thought of that. Nancy found it quite bizarre. She felt that Ariel was overdoing it.
Nancy snickered. Then, she turned her eyes to Jayson.
However, she found that Jayson was looking in Ariel’s direction too. He looked relaxed as he stared at Ariel’s group. Somehow, it seemed like he had curled his lips slightly.
Nancy thought she had seen it wrongly. She called out his name, “Jayson?”
Jayson lowered his gaze. The look in his eyes remained the same. “What’s wrong?”
Nancy realized that she had seen it wrongly just now. She shook her head. “It’s nothing. Let’s go to our seats. It’s quite loud over here.”
She didn’t point out exactly what or who was being loud.
Nancy preferred not to steal the spotlight when attending events where many experts and professionals in their industry were present.
Regardless of how smart and capable she was, Nancy was still fairly young. She still had trouble learning and understanding some highly technical research.
Nancy preferred staying humble and taking one step at a time with her learning process instead of acting like a know–it–all to attract people’s attention.
On the other hand, Travis was deeply impressed after listening to Ariel’s sharing. He asked, “How old are you, Ms. Walker? Who was your supervisor when you were doing your postgraduate studies?”
Ariel smiled faintly. “I just reached the age of 25. I didn’t have a supervisor since I didn’t undertake postgraduate studies.”
If she hadn’t proceeded with getting married back then, Ariel might have been able to declare proudly that Carlos was her supervisor for her postgraduate studies.
Travis was momentarily stunned.

He thought that someone like Ariel had probably completed an integrated master’s and PhD program.
She had discussed some technical difficulties in great detail While Ariel did cover the basics, several of her suggestions carried layers of complexity that would only unfold for Travis after he’d had time to mull them over.
Chad observed the changes in Travis‘ face from the side.
