Chapter 304
Jayson’s gaze drifted sideways, quietly studying the scene across the lot.
Even Nancy glanced over in confusion, and her expression grew more serious.
Ariel arrived with Carlos? When did she get that kind of access?

And more importantly, it was only just after 9:00 am. Had Carlos picked her up, or had they come from the same place?
“Let’s go,” Jayson said coolly. He remained indifferent.
Nancy pressed her lips together, not saying anything.
Ever since she had heard from Seth about Ariel being the one behind the major investment, she should have realized this kind of treatment was inevitable.
Even Ariel arriving alongside Carlos wasn’t all that surprising.
Ariel didn’t notice Jayson and Nancy. She followed Carlos inside and recognized a few familiar faces along the way.
Every major company that mattered had shown up.
Attendees were divided into groups, and the seats in the conference room were nearly all assigned.
There was a ripple of surprise as Carlos entered. Many had long wanted the chance to meet him. In a setting like this, no one was about to pass up the opportunity for a face–to–face exchange.
Chad shrugged. “Let’s go find our seats.”
Ariel nodded.
The two had barely settled at their labeled spots when a new wave of movement broke out across the room.
On the opposite side, Jayson had just taken his seat.
Nancy sat beside him, surrounded by an eager circle of greeters.
“Congratulations, Ms. Stanton. Looking forward to possible collaborations.”
Nancy responded with polished grace, “Likewise.”
“Word is, Veyo Solutions is recruiting talent. You’re building something promising, Ms. Stanton. Very impressive.

Upon hearing all the praise, Nancy instinctively glanced at Jayson with a smile. Her demeanor softened a little.” Thank you. I appreciate it.”
Veyo Solutions was riding high.
With Jayson backing them, everyone wanted a piece. They were clearly optimistic about Veyo Solutions‘ future.
The room was filled with top executives. They normally wouldn’t go out of their way to show favor to a new company. But with Jayson seated beside Nancy, out of courtesy, their enthusiasm didn’t wane.
Chad scoffed. “Veyo Solutions technically shouldn’t have made the invite list for today’s session. Jayson being here is just his way of making it clear that he’s Nancy’s sponsor.”

Ariel already figured as much.

With Jayson’s endorsement, it was inevitable that Veyo Solutions would be flooded with collaboration offers.
He had invested in the company, after all. Of course, he wanted to see it thrive.
Ariel set her notebook down beside her.
People continued to filter in, exchanging pleasantries before finding their seats.
When Ariel looked up, she caught Jayson looking right at her.
He rested one hand on the table, tapping his fingers in an unhurried rhythm. When their eyes met, his gaze lingered before he gave a casual nod as a subtle gesture of acknowledgment.
Ariel acted as if she hadn’t seen that and coldly looked away She didn’t respond or acknowledge him.
When Samson arrived, he immediately spotted Ariel sitting near the front. A smile flickered across his face.
He was about to head her way when a staff member from the conference center spotted him and quickly rushed over. “Mr. Pryce, your seat is this way. Please come with me”
Samson glanced where the man pointed. His assigned spot was near the front but several seats away from Ariel.
He considered it for a moment, then asked, “Would it be possible to switch seats?”
He knew that at a conference of this level, seating was pre–assigned, with nameplates placed at each spot. It wouldn’t be easy to switch seats, but he still wanted to try.
The staff member hesitated for a moment. But considering Samson’s status, he nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll see what I can do. Which seat would you like to switch to?”
Ariel was quietly scanning the crowd, mentally piecing together who represented what companies.
She was deep in thought, running through Faye Technologies‘ next strategic steps, when someone approached.
So focused was she, she didn’t register the presence until a man’s voice broke through. “Ms. Walker, we meet again.”
Only then did Ariel glance to the side. Seeing Samson, she suddenly recalled him mentioning this tech seminar to Chad. So he was attending too.
“Hello.” Ariel nodded.
