Chapter 30
“Ahem…” A sudden cough came from the room
Lia instinctively turned her head to check, making sure Sarah hadn’t woken up, then awkwardly said, “Well, you should rest early”
“Alright.” But the man showed no intention of leaving
Embarrassed by his gaze, Lia stood on tiptoe and quickly pecked him on the check. “Goodnight.”
She quickly shut the door and leaned against it, her heart pounding wildly.
Lia. what are you doing!‘ She thought to herself.
Outside the door, the man glanced at the tray, his smile unrestrained.
Standing nearby, Olly had intended to take the glass but froze when he saw his boss smiling so oddly. Was this still the cold, aloof man he knew? He looked like a foolish lover boy.
The next morning, Lia helped Sarah wash up and led her downstairs.
Sarah greeted the staff sweetly whenever she saw them.
“Good morning, Miss!”
“Good morning, Sir!”
“Good morning, Madam!”
“Good morning. Lia replied to them one by one.
In the dining room, Coby was already waiting. “Lia.”
“Good morning, Coby, Lia replied.
They usually came downstairs together, so it felt a little odd to be apart this morning.
“Good morning, Coby!” Sarah beamed at him, delighted to see fim.
“You were pretending to be asleep, huh?” Coby chuckled.
Lia caught the meaning behind his words and avoided his gaze.
Climbing onto a chair, Sarah grinned mischievously. I love sleeping with Lia! She smells so good.”
The moment those words were said, all the servants turned their eyes to Lia
“Ahem, Sarah, let’s eat.” Lia felt so awkward that she wanted to hide.
Sarah hardly had any idea what was appropriate or inappropriate to say, but Lia could only patiently guide her. “Really? don’t you think so too, Coby?” Sarah blinked her big, innocent eyes, successfully shifting everyone’s attention. Coby lightly tapped the little girl on her forehead. “Even if she smells good, she’s still my wife. You’re going home today.”
Lia enjoyed watching their playful banter. Although Coby knew Sarah was just being playful, he still went along with it. Somehow, his childishness made him unexpectedly charming.

“You re such a meanie!“-Sarah pouted, then turned to Lia for help. “Don’t you agree?”
Lia sneaked a glance at him, only to find him staring directly at her. She quickly looked away.
“Let’s just eat,” Lia said, placing a pancake on Sarah’s plate.
“Thank you!” The child couldn’t hide her excitement and immediately bragged to him. “I got a pancake from Lia!”
“Lia, what about me?” asked Coby.
Lia could hear the collective gasp from the servants behind her
It was hard to believe their boss was actually competing with a little girl for attention. This was truly a first.
“Well… how about some bacon?” Lia hesitantly put bacon on his plate.
“Thank you, Honey. Coby said with a beaming smile.
Everyone looked on in shock.
Lia sighed, covering her face. She just wanted to finish the meal quickly.
After that. Sarah finally quieted down and ate her food obediently.
After the meal. Lia took Sarah to the garden to play on the swing. They played for a while until Sarah’s mood suddenly dropped.
“If I go back home, what if Mom and Dad still like my brother more than me?” she asked.
Lia gently pushed the swing, patiently comforting her. “Of course they like you too. It’s just that your brother is still little and needs extra care. Don’t you like your brother too?”
“I do, but he’s taken my Mom and Dad away from me. Sarah said, her voice trembling as tears welled up.
“But when he grows up. Mom and Dad will give him more space too. Sarah, you can’t always rely on Mom and Dad. We have to learn to be independent. When you are, you can do so many things.
“You’ll grow up and make your parents proud, won’t you?” Lia stroked her head, speaking softly.
“Don’t expect too much. She can’t even quit chocolate. Coby walked up quietly, his words teasing but affectionate.
Lia knew he was saying it on purpose.
“TII behave! Don’t look down on me,” Sarah said, crossing her arms like a little adult.
“Let’s see if you can impress me,” Coby replied with a grin.
“What does impress mean?” Sarah asked curiously.
“It means you’ll prove him right. I believe you can do it.” Lia encouraged her.
“Of course I can! Hmph!” Sarah said proudly.
Lia smiled gently and looked at him. “Are we leaving now?”
“Yeah.” Coby nodded.
Even though they didn’t want to, it was time to take Sarah back home.

e to go
“Do I really have to
Sarah got off the swing and clung to Lia’s leg, her pitiful expression making it hard to say no.
“Weren’t you just saying you’d behave?” Coby pretended to scold her.
Sarah pouted. “Can you come play with me sometime?”
“Of course! I’ll come find my little cutie, Lia said, pinching her soft cheeks with a smile.
“Let’s pinky promise! You too!” Sarah tugged on Coby’s sleeve. “You have to visit me often!”
“Nah.” Coby teased.
“You have to!” Sarah’s tears came instantly, rolling down her cheeks and making everyone’s heart ache.
“Coby, stop teasing her,” Lia said, tugging his sleeve lightly.
He softened his expression and said seriously, “Alright, we’ll both come visit you.”
Sarah broke into a smile and kissed them both on the cheek. “It’s a promise!”
A chubby little hand stretched out. Coby raised a brow and hooked his pinky with hers.
“Pinky promise. Sarah added. “You two should pinky promise too!”
She looked left and right, her big eyes darting between them.
This time, Coby was very proactive, holding out his hand. “Honey, let’s pinky promise.
Lia chuckled. What a childish man.
His pinky wrapped tightly around hers. It wasn’t just a promise. It felt like he was pulling her in.
“Pinky promise, you will never separate!” Sarah’s little hands wrapped around theirs.
“Look, Lia! Coby is smiling!” said Sarah.
Lia realized he did seem unusually happy today.
“Where do you want to go? Since you’ve been so well–behaved: Coby originally planned to send the little brat home quickly, but the promises softened his heart.
“Yay! I want to go to the amusement park, okay?” asked Sarah.
“Ask Lia if she wants to go, Coby replied.
Lia was caught off guard. If they didn’t go, Sarah would definitely be heartbroken.
Sarah sweetly tugged on Lia’s arm. “Please, Lia. Let’s all go! My mom and dad are too busy to take me.”
Coby noticed Sarah had a knack for charming people. It was mischievous yet adorable.
Til call Sarah’s parents to explain. If they agree, we’ll go,” said Coby.
“Okay, sounds good” Lia nodded
“Yay! Go make the call! Sarah urged him.

A few minutes later, Coby had spoken to her parents and gotten their approval.
“Yay! We can gol” Sarah was so excited she hugged Lia and planted kisses on her face. Someone nearby found the sight irritating and scooped her up,
What are you doing?” Sarah asked, puzzled.
“Do you still want to go or not?” Coby asked.
“Of course! Let’s go. Coby’s so stingy. He won’t even let me kiss you.” Sarah pouted.
“That’s not what it is… Lia felt flustered, trying to explain.
Coby didn’t deny it. “It’s true. I don’t want her kissing you.”
“Why not?” Sarah asked, dissatisfied.
“Because you’re my wife! Coby stepped beside Lia, wrapping an arm around her waist with a smug smile.
Here we go again. Lia digereetly pinched his side, but the man only held her hand and scooped up Sarah with his other arm.
“Let’s go. We’re heading to the amusement park, Coby said,
“Yay! To the amusement park!” Sarah wriggled in excitement
“Warth it, or you’ll fall. He warned.
“Okay, she responded obediently.
Watching the interaction between the two, Lia found it surprisingly harmonious.
It was a weekend at the amusement park. The park was packed with kids and adults alike.
Despite her young age, Sarah was brimming with curiosity, constantly looking around. “Sarah, what do you want to play?” Lia asked.
“I want to play that!” Sarah pointed happily at the carousel. “The horses are so pretty!”
“Alright, let’s go ride the carousel. But make sure to hold on tight, okay?”
“I will hold on super tight!” Sarah scrunched her face like a little bun, looking utterly adorable.
“Good” Lia stood up and looked at Coby. “Are you riding too?”
“You two go ahead. I’m not interested,” he replied.
“Aw, you’re not coming with us?” Sarah looked momentarily disappointed, but her excitement returned when she saw the tickets. She eagerly tugged Lia toward the entrance. “Hurry!”
She looked so innocent and cute.
“Wait, Sarah” Lia took off her shoulder bag, intending to hand it to the bodyguard behind her, but Coby naturally reached
out and took it instead
T carry the bag. You go ahead, he said.

“Thank you.” Lia
This was the whow casually he sling her bag over his shoulder and felt an odd emotion stir within her.
Π
man who was famously aloof around women, and now he was carrying a woman’s bag. If people heard about this, they probably wouldn’t believe it.
After their tickets were checked, Lia and Sarah each sat on a carousel horse.
“Coby!” Sarah waved excitedly at him. “Take a picture of us!”
“Sarah, there’s no need. Lia had never seen him take photos before, so she didn’t feel comfortable asking him to do it.
“Please, just take one when we turn back around! Sarah pleaded
Even though the carousel was spinning in the opposite direction. Sarah kept looking in Coby’s direction.
Lia assumed he wouldn’t bother, but as they came back around, the man had already taken out his phone.
“He’s really taking our picture!” Sarah was so thrilled that she almost fell off the carousel.
Lia watched in alarm and quickly reminded her. “Hold on tight, Sarah!”
“Sir, the bag and the coat… The bodyguard stepped forward, offering to take them.
He glanced at them and replied indifferently, “I’ve got it.”
“Understood.” The bodyguards stepped back, exchanging glances. Their hands were empty, but their boss was holding. everything himself.
As the carousel spun around again, Sarah beamed at Coby and made a peace sign.
Not satisfied with just her own pose, she encouraged Lia. “Make a peace sign too! Please?”
“Alright.” Unable to refuse the adorable request, Lia awkwardly made a peace sign for the camera.
The corner of Coby’s mouth lifted into a smile as he took a few more shots. The last one ended up being a solo picture of
Lia
Afterward, Sarah bounced over to Lia, dragging her along. “Did you see? Both of us made peace signs!”
Sarah abandoned Lia to cling to Coby instead.
“Yeah, I took pictures.” He showed the little one the pictures, earning her praise,
“You’re so good at taking pictures! You made Lia look especially pretty, Come and see!”
Lia hadn’t planned on looking, but with Sarah’s relentless praise she couldn’t help but feel compelled.
The photos were indeed well–taken, and Lia couldn’t deny it.
“Lia, satisfied?” he asked.
They’re beautiful. Thank you.” Lia smiled.
“Look! Lia’s face it as red as an apple!”
Sarah’s comment only made Lia’s cheeks flush even more.
“Ahem. Sarah, what do you want to do next?” she asked

Her attention was caught by the train ride in the distance. “Let’s ride the little train! Coby should come tool”
Sarah grabbed their hands with her chubby little fingers, one in each hand.
Lia noticed his calm expression and guessed he wasn’t interested in such activities. She gently said to Sarah, “He has things to do. I’ll go with you.”
“But Coby should come! He can take lots of pretty pictures of your Sarah said.
Though it was a child’s innocent suggestion, it hit the mark.
Taking photos–that was enough to persuade him.
“Alright, let’s go together. Coby nodded.
Lia was surprised that he was actually going to ride the little train.
Each train car could seat several people, so Lia Coby, and Saralysat together in one car.
“Come here, don’t sit on Ela’s lap. She’s not feeling well.”
Coby gently grabbed the back of Sarah’s collar and effortlessly moved her to his side.
“Okay!” Sarah obediently sat next to Coby.
He remained attentive throughout, and Lia felt deeply touched. “Sarah, let me take a picture of you two.”
“Yay! You have to make a peace sign too!” Sarah happily made a peace sign, but the man beside her didn’t respond.
“Lia, look! Coby isn’t cooperating. Sarah complained immediately.
“Maybe he just doesn’t feel like it. Next time, okay?” Lia defended him.
The thought of him making a peace sign seemed completely unrealistic.
But she was wrong. He chuckled and said, “I think we should take one together.” Lia cleared her throat awkwardly.
“Then let’s take one together! Come on, Lia. Sarah tugged at Lia, pulling her closer.
He smiled at her, and Sarah noticed. “Stop looking at Lia! Let’s take the picture!”
“You’re so young, but you sure know a lot.” Coby commented.
In the end, they took a picture in the small train cabin as a trio.
Sarah sat in the middle, flashing a peace sign. Even Coby joined in, but while Lia wasn’t paying attention, he leaned in and kissed her cheek. The camera captured the moment perfectly.
