Nancy did not let her inner thoughts show. She appeared elegant as she placed her hands on her knees and said, It’s alright. I’ve come here to discuss a project that Veyo Solutions has been working on lately, Mr. Pryce.
“You can take a look at it first. If you think it’s something worth your time, perhaps we can discuss more about the project.”
Samson did not refuse to look at the document that was passed to him.
He went through the document and nodded. “The project looks quite interesting. I’ve heard a lot about Veyo Solutions recently. You have very innovative ideas for the project, Ms. Stanton.”
Nancy smiled faintly. “I was thinking it would be great if we could collaborate with a partner that shared similar ideologies with us. Do you think there’s a chance for us to work together on the project, Mr. Pryce?”
Samson closed the folder containing the document and pushed it back toward Nancy. His expression was calm and neutral. “I’m sorry. Our company has made other plans at the moment.”
Nancy was a bit thrown off by the fact that Samson had rejected her proposal.
Samson looked at her and continued at a steady speed, “Yeager Group takes various factors into consideration when assessing and choosing the partners we collaborate with. It doesn’t rely solely on my personal opinion.
“Recently, our company has just finalized some plans and made the relevant arrangements. I could only express my gratitude that you came all the way to our office, Ms. Stanton.”
Nancy was unsure what kind of plans they were when Samson said their company had other plans in place.
However, she wouldn’t press him with more questions since Samson had made their stance pretty clear. Moreover, Nancy felt like she could understand Samson’s position once the initial shock had passed.
It hadn’t been too long since Yeager Group hired Samson to work for them. He probably didn’t have the power or authority to make decisions involving such a large–scale project.
Even if he had an interest in working with Veyo Solutions, Samson still had to follow and execute the plans agreed upon by the company’s higher–ups accordingly.
Samson wasn’t trying to reject her with some half–hearted excuse. Instead, he had sincerely explained his reasons to her.
“It’s alright.” Nancy nodded, seemingly unaffected. While maintaining her composure, she decided not to appear overly eager or desperate.
She looked at Samson. “I hope we’ll get a chance to work together next time.”
Samson stood up and glanced at his watch. “I’ll see you around then, Ms. Stanton.”
He instructed his secretary to show Nancy out. Samson mentioned nothing about how he had actually chosen to partner with Faye Technologies.
Samson was a really busy man. He promptly excused himself and went upstairs to his office.
Nancy watched his receding figure. Then, she glanced at Samson’s secretary, who was beside her.
A thought occurred to her.
Samson did not reply to her message when Nancy invited him to the art exhibition the other day. Yet, he instructed his secretary to show her out today.

Nancy snapped out of her reverie. Then, she turned around and left the building
They would be getting their exam results that day. Nancy had made a reservation at a restaurant since she planned on treating her friends to a meal.
She also made sure to remind Jayson in advance to keep his schedule free for that evening. Jayson promised to meet up with them as well.
Nancy felt quite confident about her exam results. She was certain it was enough to put her in first place.
In the evening, Nancy arrived at the private room and found that Matt and the others were already there.
Even Renee had come to join them. As soon as she spotted Nancy, Renee dashed over and clung to her arm. “Hurry and come in! Can we check the results already?”
Jayson directed his gaze to Nancy.
Nancy’s gaze fell on him. She walked over to where he was and sat beside him.
“We’re all here to celebrate you. Yet, you only have eyes for Jayson, huh?” Matt shook his head and said teasingly.
Nancy simply beamed and gazed at Jayson’s side profile with a gentle look in her eyes.
Jayson turned his eyes to her. “Have you checked your results?”
Nancy curled her lips and said calmly, “Uh–huh. 432 points. It should be enough for me to secure the spot.”
“You got such high marks!” Renee was the first person to exclaim in awe. She was looking at Nancy with a greater sense of admiration.
This was the kind of sister–in–law she wanted! Nancy was both smart and beautiful!
Perry had a pensive look on his face. He couldn’t help wondering how the situation was on Ariel’s side.
Matt was deeply impressed. “Nancy, you’re being overly humble. You really are a genius. You managed to score such high marks despite not having much time to prepare. You can easily get first place with that score, right?”
Then, he smiled enigmatically. “I’m curious about how much Ariel scored then…”
