A lot of their partners had terminated their contracts with Veyo Solutions and pulled back their funds. Nancy would also have to deal with the aftermath of the incident.
An idealist and perfectionist like her would be in great despair facing her current situation. The whole incident must have given Nancy quite a blow.
“Still, we can proceed with filing the lawsuit against her if you can’t forgive her for what she did.” Chad looked at Ariel. He was being considerate of her feelings and opinion.
Ariel shook her head. She understood his concerns. “Chad, why should I bother wasting my time on someone like her, who means nothing to me? If I chose to give up on such a great offer for someone like Nancy, wouldn’t it make Jayson think that I’m so keen on punishing Nancy because I’m still not over him yet?”
Besides, the worst thing Nancy did was releasing those statements, which were basically defamation against Faye Technologies. For the part where Terrance and Seth had violated Faye Technologies’s patent rights, Nancy would only be considered to be partly responsible for allowing something like that to happen since she had been kept in the dark as well.
Even if Jayson had not intervened, Nancy would still have had a good chance to get away with it by hiring an excellent lawyer to defend her in court.
Her reputation would suffer as a result of the incident. However, one must learn when to give and take in order to survive in the real world.
Even the fact that Ashford University had decided to revoke Nancy’s admission and that Andre announced he would no longer be her supervisor were decisions that were made in the best interests of those parties.
Additionally, Ariel did not initiate all this just to bring Nancy down. She had only decided to press charges since the incident had affected their company. Faye Technologies business and reputation were at stake at the time.
As for Nancy, Ariel had not once considered her a threat.
They were no longer naive, impulsive kids. Even if they managed to get Nancy to spend one to two years in prison, what would that do other than bruise her pride a little? What would most likely happen afterward?
Once Nancy was released, she would be getting the thriving much more evolved Veyo Solutions that Jayson had built for her.
They could even see how much Jayson cared about Nancy, judging by how he was even willing to transfer Nexura Solutions‘ ownership to Ariel for Nancy’s sake.
“It’s decided, then.” Without much hesitation, Ariel settled on the decision right away.
She saw no point in sacrificing her health, time, or energy in getting Nancy sentenced to prison for one to two years. With Bluum Corp’s legal team’s competence, they might even be able to persuade the court that Nancy was not guilty by the end of the trial.
Ariel didn’t have to take on a battle she didn’t ask for, and had so many uncertainties.
With Nexura Solutions already being a drone manufacturer Faye Technologies could skip the long, time- consuming process of growing and expanding their business to have both their manpower and infrastructure ready.
With Faye Technologies having an edge in manufacturing as well, they would no longer see Veyo Solutions as a potential threat or fellow competitor.

Moreover, it was a rare opportunity whereby they could make Jayson lose a lot of money.
From being just an equity holder, Ariel would become a business owner.
Chad poured the ladies some water and pushed the glasses toward them. Then, he shared some thoughts after seeing how Ariel had suddenly become rich in just one day.
“Don’t you think it’s funny? When we were collaborating with Nexura Solutions, their employees treated Nancy respectfully since they assumed she was Jayson’s future wife. Yet, now… You’re about to become their boss.”
It would not be the same since Nancy had only been treated with respect because of her relationship with Jayson.
Janice grinned broadly as she understood what Chad was implying. “She’s probably going to explode with anger when she finds out, huh?”
There was no way Veyo Solutions, which cost around several hundred million dollars for its establishment, could ever compare to Nexura Solutions, which could generate tens of billions of dollars in revenue annually.
“Still, Jayson could have just chosen to have Bluum Corp’s legal team defend Nancy during the trials. Why give away Nexura Solutions‘ ownership instead? He’s supposed to think of this from a businessman’s perspective.” Chad couldn’t help finding it strange.
Ariel furrowed her brows. She looked confused as well. “Maybe he just wants to quickly put an end to this debacle? After all, it’ll only make things worse for Nancy the longer this incident drags on.”
“There are countless ways he can use to bribe or threaten you. Yet, he ended up choosing one so absurd that we weren’t even sure how to feel about it.” Chad just could not figure Jayson out no matter how hard he tried.
Was Jayson being generous to his ex–wife? Or was he being generous since his girlfriend was involved?
Ariel lowered her gaze and pondered for a bit.
This incident served as a great opportunity since there was something else Ariel needed to talk to Jayson about.
In the evening, Ariel spent some time looking through the call history. She called the number Jayson had used to contact her the other day.
He picked up the phone pretty quickly.
“Have you made up your mind?” Jayson was being uncharacteristically patient.
Ariel replied straightforwardly, “There’s no way I’d stand in you and your lover’s way when you’re offering us such a great deal, Mr. Larkin.”
Nexura Solutions generated a net profit of at least seven billion dollars yearly. Ariel would be a fool to decline Jayson’s offer.
However, Jayson had offered Nexura Solutions to them just to get Nancy out of trouble. Ariel could not help but wonder how Jayson would feel once he learned that his decision would only make Nancy feel worse than her having been sent to prison.
“You have some other requests as well, right?” Jayson asked the question instead of replying to her earlier remarks. Then, he waited silently for her response.
He sounded pretty sure of it.
Ariel put down her pen and said, “I want Sarah’s painting, the one you bought during Mr. Spencer Senior’s art exhibition.”
