Evelyn was being frank. Also, she had no idea how Jayson had managed to persuade Emerich to invite Cedric to today’s meeting. This was no easy task.
“We’ll leave it up to fate, then.” Jayson sounded calm. He seemed to have an inkling of how things would turn out.
Evelyn fixed her gaze on him. “What exactly are you planning? You could’ve requested to meet Mr. Warbrooke privately. Yet, you’ve arranged for Nancy to meet with me and your great–grandfather as well. Have you started considering being in a serious relationship with her?”
Nancy’s reputation had suffered due to the recent incidents. Evelyn was hoping Jayson would be a little more cautious at times like this.
Jayson slid his phone into his pocket. He cast Evelyn a sideways glance and curled his lips. “I thought you liked her.
Evelyn frowned slightly. However, Jayson simply walked past her and entered their room without saying anything else.
Ariel hadn’t expected to see Cedric during their company’s trip to Sorenta. She was rather shocked.
Janice was still pouting even after they got back to the hotel. “Jayson must be using all the connections he could get from his mom’s family to help Nancy because he thinks you’ve completely crushed her recently.”
Janice got a massive shock after learning about the kind of status and influence Cedric had in the industry on their way back to the hotel.
She also had a better idea of Jayson’s intentions.
Chad walked over to her and flicked her on the forehead. “His plans might not necessarily work out. Mr. Warbrooke is a peculiar man. It’s hard to say whether he’ll accept Nancy as his student. After all, he’s met someone much better than before.”
He directed his gaze to Ariel.
Chad found it rather fascinating that things had turned out this way after Ariel had turned down Cedric’s offer a few years ago.
“That is, unless Jayson manages to make an offer that Mr. Warbrooke is satisfied with.” Ariel felt that anything could happen, especially since Jayson had managed to invite Cedric to a meal today.
Chad furrowed his brows. Ariel had made a fair point.
Still, the fact that Ariel could calmly analyze and talk about how her ex–husband was doing all kinds of things to help his mistress and how those two were meeting with Jayson’s elders… Even as an outsider, Chad still felt an inexplicable sense of bitterness in him.
Ariel didn’t think much of it. After all, one would normally want the best of everything for someone they truly Hoved.
Shortly afterward, each of them returned to their own rooms to rest.
Ariel spent some time working on her third research paper She just needed to edit some parts since she had reached the final stage of her writing.
Ever since she got back into the work and research relating to aerospace engineering, Ariel felt that her views had

As such, she felt that the quality of the paper she had written this time was much higher than that of the two papers she had published a few years ago.
When she was editing her paper, Janice sent a screenshot to their group chat. It was something Nancy had posted on Instagram that night.
She had taken a photo of a quaint, beautiful mansion and paired it with a caption. “Still a little nervous.”
Janice sent a message.
“Has she lost her mind? The Cavell family’s mansion has appeared in the news before. It’s one of the most iconic buildings in Sorenta. Does she think people won’t be able to recognize it?
“Isn’t this her way of letting others know that she’s here to meet Jayson’s family? She’s trying to tell everyone that she hasn’t been affected by those incidents and that Jayson is planning to marry her!”
Ariel took a glance at the photo. She recognized the building, of course.
Ariel had traveled to Sorenta two years ago to meet the Cavells. Although Emerich seemed a bit cold and reserved, he had been very caring toward Ariel nonetheless.
However, Jayson was already bringing someone else to meet him this time around.
Ariel replied to Janice’s messages with a cute emoji of someone patting another’s head. Then, she continued working on her paper.
Ariel decided to submit her third research paper as soon as possible.
