It sounded like Liam was just giving her a casual reminder,
Ariel thought about what he just said.
From a doctor’s perspective, having a cheerful mood would undoubtedly help a patient’s recovery. That was probably why he had said those things earlier.
Anyhow, Ariel felt thankful toward Liam. She knew he wasn’t obligated to look at her medical reports; she figured he was likely returning the favor for the incident involving Zach.
Ariel decided to take the rest of the day off.
She examined her body and appearance carefully. Ariel had asked Lesley if she would suffer hair loss once she started receiving chemotherapy treatment. Lesley told her the situation varied between different patients.
After going for the second chemotherapy session, Ariel noticed she hadn’t suffered any severe hair loss. She felt slightly relieved knowing that.
The next day, Ariel went back to her usual routine. Even though she was pushing herself a little most of the time, Ariel found it bearable once she had gotten used to it.
Faye Technologies received an invitation from the Yeager Group to attend their annual tech summit. Samson’s secretary had even delivered the invitation card to Faye Technologies‘ office personally.
Chad was surprised by how keen the Yeager Group was to establish a friendly relationship with their company.
Yeager Group specialized in producing military tech for their country. Attending their tech summit would surely be an extremely valuable experience for their guests.
Ariel felt that they should attend the summit. It would be best if they could form a good, long–term partnership with the Yeager Group.
After they arrived at the venue, Ariel and Chad met representatives from several companies with which they could potentially collaborate in the future.
Ever since the incidents with the Veyo Solutions team became known throughout the industry, Ariel found herself in the spotlight. As soon as she arrived, many people approached her to greet her.
With her previous experience working in public relations, Ariel had no trouble socializing with the other guests.
She ran into a group of people as soon as she entered the hall.
Zach had a conflicted look on his face as he stared at Ariel. He wanted to say something, but he was unsure how to phrase his words.
It was with Liam’s help that Vireon had managed to avoid getting dragged into the mess. Ultimately, Ariel had been generous enough not to pursue any legal actions against them.
While he was still thinking about how to initiate the conversation, Ariel walked past Zach without sparing him a single glance. It was as though she hadn’t noticed him at all
Zach was rendered speechless.
He turned his head and glared at Ariel, looking a little irked

He couldn’t understand what was wrong with her. Zach was standing right there, yet Ariel acted as if he were invisible.
Ariel was completely oblivious to the thoughts Zach had. She and Chad went around greeting some people. Then, they spotted Jayson and Nancy, who had just gotten to the venue.
Nancy seemed to be in high spirits, radiating confidence and elegance as she greeted everyone around her. She carried herself as if she hadn’t been involved in any recent disputes or unsavory incidents.
Chad clicked his tongue. “See? The easiest way to navigate through life is to be as thick–skinned as possible.”
While he was saying that, Jayson and Nancy walked up to them.
As if she had put what happened recently behind her, Nancy cast Ariel a sidelong glance. There was a hint of scorn in her eyes.
Jayson appeared calm and collected. His gaze stopped briefly on Ariel. “Ms. Walker. Mr. Hockney.”
Ariel didn’t respond to his greeting.
Chad had an impassive expression on his face. “Mr. Larkin, with so many eyes on us, bringing Ms. Stanton over to say hello makes it seem like we’ve settled our differences to those who don’t know the full story.”
Chad was making a rather caustic remark.
Nancy pursed her lips. “Mr. Hockney, I was deceived by those people. I really hope you won’t have any misunderstanding about it.”
“Whether it’s a misunderstanding or not, the police have already concluded on that. There’s no point in you bringing that up now, Ms. Stanton.” Chad had made his stance pretty clear with how cold and distant he sounded.
Nancy sensed it as well and found it a real shame. Chad had consistently proven his exceptional competence in the industry, and his background and expertise were beyond reproach. She considered it a waste not to befriend someone like him.
Yet, she knew that odd personality traits often accompanied genius, so she resolved to be patient.
Just then, a small commotion broke out in the distance.
Ariel looked in the direction of the noise.
To everyone’s surprise, Cedric had made an appearance at the event.
For someone like him, who had retired for quite some time to show up here today, people in the hall quickly got excited.
