Cheryl couldn’t help but recall how Henry had reprimanded her yesterday. Feeling embarrassed and nervous, she hesitated to greet him, but retreating back to the car wasn’t an option since Henry had already seen her.
Lowering her gaze, she greeted him softly, “Good morning, Henry.”
Henry’s dark eyes swept over her, and he gave a faint nod.
Compared to her discomfort, his expression was its usual cool indifference, as though the awkward incident was nothing more than her imagination.
It was expected from Henry, who was always detached when it came to people he didn’t care about.
Behind him, Larry greeted her warmly, “Good morning, Ms. Harvey.”
Cheryl smiled and nodded, but her gaze lingered on Henry as he and Larry walked past her toward the elevators.
She paused momentarily before quickly following them.
In the elevator, Henry and Larry stood on one side while Cheryl stood on the other.
Larry was briefing Henry on work matters, while Cheryl pretended to scroll through her phone.
In reality, she was stealing glances at Henry through the reflection in the elevator’s mirrored walls.
From a young age, Henry had been composed and stoic, earning the nickname “Little Man” among adults. Even in the face of chaos, he remained calm, as though an elderly soul resided in his youthful body.
Cheryl had grown up trailing after him, but in all those years, she’d never seen much of a change in his expression beyond his usual cold demeanor.
She used to think he was incapable of showing more–until yesterday when she accidentally walked into his office and saw his desires.
That moment, with Shana in his muscular arms, the raw power and intensity he exuded were impossibly alluring.
A man who usually seemed so aloof, so untouched by worldly desires, had looked devastatingly seductive when consumed by passion.
And it was all because of Shana.
Everyone said Henry didn’t have feelings for her, but could someone enjoy such passion and intimacy with a woman without harboring any emotion at all?
As though sensing her gaze, Henry lazily lifted his eyes.
Cheryl panicked and quickly lowered her head to her phone while biting her lip nervously.
When the elevator reached the PR department’s floor, Cheryl hastily excused herself and stepped out.

Only when the doors closed behind her did she breathe a sigh of relief.

Back in her office, Cheryl had barely sat down when her secretary called to inform her that someone had arrived.
“Send her in, Cheryl said.
Moments later, Alina strutted into the room. Her tight mini dress hugged her figure, with a neckline so low that leaning forward even slightly revealed ample cleavage. The hem barely reached her thighs.
One look and Cheryl could tell Alina wasn’t here for a proper job.
Leaning back in her chair, Cheryl’s tone was calm but firm. “I’m Cheryl, Shana’s friend. Since you came recommended by her, she asked me to remind you to keep your head down and do your part. Get rid of any inappropriate thoughts and get through your internship quietly,”
Even someone ás oblivious as Alina could sense the warning in Cheryl’s words. Though displeased, Alina wasn’t foolish enough to make enemies on her first day.
She feigned agreement, nodding and smiling.
After a few more words of advice, Cheryl dismissed her with a wave.
The moment Alina stepped outside, her expression darkened.
Aunt Gillian had been right–Shana wasn’t in Henry’s favor. If she were, she wouldn’t have hesitated to recommend me before or send her friend to issue warnings now. Shana was clearly afraid of her youth, beauty, and figure drawing Henry’s attention.
Alina hadn’t gone to such lengths to join The Floyd Group just to be an intern. Her target was Henry, and she wasn’t shy about it.
Shana’s inability to hold onto her husband was her failing. Alina, however, wasn’t like her–no man could resist someone as sexy as her.
Brimming with confidence, Alina adjusted her curls and reapplied a layer of bold red lipstick. Blowing a kiss at her reflection, she tugged her neckline lower, letting her bosom spill out. Then, she knocked on the CEO’s office door.
“Come in,” a deep voice called from inside.
Alina opened the door with a sultry smile. Seeing Henry’s striking profile, her voice took on an involuntary lilt. “Mr. Floyd, I’m Alina. Thank you for giving me this oppor-
Before she could finish, Henry cut her off without even looking up. “Report to Mr. Weaver. He’ll assign tasks for you. You may leave.”
“Alright.”
Though frustrated, Alina quickly recalibrated her approach. She still had a whole month. There wasn’t a need to rush and risk offending Henry now.
“Yes, Mr. Floyd. I’ll get going.”

Chapter 75 Her Target Is Henry!
She walked out, pausing dramatically at every step to glance back, but Henry never spared her a second look.
Meanwhile, Shana had to adjust her schedule, Starting today, she’d be cooking, and delivering meals to Henry every day for the next month, much to her annoyance,
But her mood shifted instantly when she checked her phone and saw the payment notification. Henry had transferred all the overdue wages and meal expenses to her
Her frustration dissipated as a satisfied smile spread across her face. Though she couldn’t stand that sc*mbag’s attitude, his money was perfectly fine.
She loved money, cherished it deeply, and was willing to stay entangled with it forever.
She then opened her online banking application and transferred 100,000 to Cheryl, who was likely too busy to reply.
Then, the numerous notifications on Facebook caught her attention.
Curious, she tapped on it, only to discover that yesterday’s post had stirred up a storm.
Ordinarily, her posts went unnoticed, but Henry–the man who was never active on social media–had liked her post.
Their social media exploded with speculation since they knew Henry and Shana weren’t on good terms.
Damon was particularly vocal. “What the hell? Did you two get back together? When did this happen? Did I miss another billion?”
“Shana, what did you eat? How did it happen? Give us the details! I’ll even pay for them!”
Even Duncan joined in, leaving a simple smiling emoji,
Shana rolled her eyes at the commotion. Henry’s “like” was nothing more than a passing impulse, the same way he’d always softened after indulging himself with her.
Once, she’d foolishly thought his gifts and occasional tenderness were signs of affection, celebrating each small gesture like a fool.
Now, she knew better.
Without hesitation, she deleted the post.
Refreshing her feed, she saw a new post from Cyrus, filled with photos of a medical outreach team.
The post’s positivity was infectious, and Shana quickly gave it a like.
At noon, she whipped up two simple dishes, packed them into containers, and drove to The Floyd Group.
