Nancy’s mood lifted slightly after she heard those words. She bearged. “Thank you,”
Wendy gave her a wink. “You could also try iny approach? Perhaps you can get Mr. Larkin to consider marriage by conceiving his
child first.”
Nancy paused momentarily. Her gaze fell on Wendy’s lower abdomen, which still appeared flat at the moment.
Wendy caressed her lower abdomen. With a pensive look in her eyes, she smiled. “Lucas and I have dated for a long time. If it weren’t for the baby, he probably wouldn’t have decided to settle down so soon. Having a child is actually a pretty good way to help a couple’s relationship grow stronger.”
If it weren’t for the baby, Lucas probably would not have agreed to marry Wendy so soon.
At the same time, Wendy felt much more relieved now that the fact that Ariel and jaysun were married had been revealed to the public. At the very least…
A fleeting expression flashed through Wendy’s eyes. She kept sile
Nancy subconsciously cast a glance in Lucas‘ direction.
Anyone could tell a man like him was rather obstinate and self–willed. Yet, Wendy managed to convince him to settle down. Conceiving a child seemed like a pretty decent plan to Nancy now.
“What are you two chatting about?” Matt came over and noticed Nancy was staring at her glass, seemingly lost in thought.
Wendy chuckled. “We were having a girl talk.”
Nancy lifted her head. “Did Jayson say what time he’d reach here?
Matt shrugged. “You know how busy he is. I checked how things were. The situation’s been pretty much taken care of. You don’t have to worry about it too much.”
Nancy fell silent.
The situation on the internet might have been taken care of. Still, Nancy would face certain issues when dealing with some of Veyo Solutions‘ partners, for instance, like what had happened earlier that day.
Yet, she didn’t complain about it. Nancy saw no point in doing something like that. She would much prefer to think about how she could resolve these issues in the most efficient way.
There was also no point in rushing to change the public’s opinion of her right now. With time, people would gradually realize how much Jayson cared about her.
“Your research paper will be published soon, right? Moreover, you have Mr. Warbrooke agreeing to be Veyo Solutions‘ technical advisor. By the time you launch your next project, I’m sure the problems you’re facing now will all be solved then.”
Matt was a playboy himself. He didn’t really think Jayson and Nancy’s relationship was such an awful thing.
Sitting with her legs crossed, Nancy nodded. “I’ll do my best to get back all the things I’ve lost during this incident.”
Nancy wouldn’t be like Ariel, who made use of the edge she had after Jayson acknowledged that she was his wife.
“Don’t worry. Jayson will support you unconditionally.” Matt comforted her.
Even Jayson’s close friend had reassured her that there was nothing for her to

When Jayson got there, he ran into Lucas who was heading out for smoke. The two of them bumped into each other by the door.
Lucas had one hand in his pocket as he raised his brows. “Mr. Larkin, have you come to see Ms. Stanton? She’s talking to Wendy

right now.”
Lucas stood next to the door and clicked his tongue. “I heard about what happened a few troubled, huh? It must be hard trying not to upset either one of them.”
Jayson smiled faintly. “That isn’t exactly what I’m concerned about.”

Lucas lit a cigarette. “Might I ask when you plan to divorce Ari, then? Or have these thoughts ever occurred to you before?” Jayson lifted his gaze and replied calmly, “Are you suggesting I should consider that, Mr. Sanderson?”
“Not really. I was just thinking how you two don’t actually share a happy relationship. The sooner you end this relationship, the quicker you’ll be able to put an end to each other’s misery.” Lucasted his head. He sounded pretty earnest.
Jayson responded nonchalantly, “She’s your sister. Isn’t it a bit inappropriate for you to be saying things like that to me?”
Lucas froze for a split second. Then, he smiled. “I just think it’s probably better if the two of you go your separate ways and be with the person who truly makes you happy.”
Jayson didn’t respond to Lucas‘ remarks this time. Instead, he looked behind Lucas and said flatly, “Ms. Johnistone.”
Lucas turned around.
Wendy tried to control her facial expression. Still, she couldn’t quite hide the dark look on her face.
