Chapter 528
Third Person’s POV
Since that encounter with Cassius, she’s been haunted by dreams of the past.
In her dreams, Alpha Bentley remains cold and distant, speaking to her with icy politeness and avoiding her whenever possible.
So she’s dispatched agents to investigate Cassius.
Regardless of whether she ultimately decides to have the child, she’s determined to possess Cassius, to trample on the Davidson family’s dignity, and to ensure Alpha Bentley’s soul finds no peace.
At dusk, Leon emerged from the government construction department, where his car waited.
Before getting in, he said, “Head to the end of Brighton Street first. Audrey mentioned craving Jose’s Mexican tacos the other day. Let’s pick some up for dinner.“…
“It’s probably too early. Jose’s cart doesn’t come out until after dark,” the driver said.
The capital was bustling. After nightfall, Brighton Street and North Street buzzed with activity.
“We’ll wait,” Leon said.
The driver chuckled, “You truly spoil Audrey.”
Leon smiled, “A woman like Audrey mates with me and bears my children. How could I not treat her well? You should do the same for your mate.”
The driver grinned, “I know.”
The driver was a member of the pack, his mate born into it. They’d mated two years prior and now served as Audrey’s maid.
Upon arriving at the end of Brighton Street, vendors began setting up.
Jose, the oldest among them and the slowest, was still preparing. Leon and the driver helped him.
Seeing Leon, Jose smiled, “Mr. Olson, you’re here again for Audrey’s tacos?”
“Yes, she adores your tacos. She won’t eat anyone else’s, not even the pack chef’s,” Leon said.
Jose waved them off, “No need to help. I’ve got it.”
But Leon and the driver persisted until the cart was ready.
Jose started cooking. The tortillas and fillings were pre–made.
“Take a seat, Mr. Olson. They’ll be ready shortly,” Jose said. “How many today?” he asked.
“Five, as usual,” Leon replied.

Jose sighed, “You’re both kind–hearted souls. Goodness will prevail.”
His business had always struggled–not due to taste but his slowness and lack of help.
Many customers wouldn’t wait.
Once, Leon had brought Audrey here. After one bite, she was hooked.
Though she couldn’t eat five, she’d buy them and share with the omegas, supporting Jose’s business.
“Jose, please make me a taco,” came a clear and playful voice.
Leon looked up to see a woman with an omega approaching.
She patted her stomach and said, “I’ve been busy all day, skipped lunch, and I’m starving.”
Jose looked up and smiled at the familiar face, Lorelai, a recent regular.
“Lorelai, just finished work? Take a seat. Let me finish Leon’s order first, then I’ll make yours,” he said.
Lorelai glanced over and spotted Leon, her face showing surprise.
She walked over and nodded politely, “Mr. Olson, hello.”
Leon recognized her from a banquet where she’d delivered the coffee that won his boss’s praise.
Leon, a coffee lover, had bought some on his way home.
He nodded back, “Lorelai, hello.”
Lorelai sat across from him, her delicate face wearing a faint smile. “Mr. Olson, would you mind if I get my order first? I’m truly famished today.”
Leon was in a hurry. He wanted to get back for Audrey’s dinner, not just a late–night snack, which she rarely ate.
But she was an acquaintance and clearly starving.
He nodded, “Alright, Jose, serve hers first.”
Lorelai’s eyes lit up. “Two orders, please,” she said.
Turning to the omega beside her, she said, “Sit and eat with me.”
The omega sat on the other side. “I’ll sit here.”
The evening breeze was chilly, and with the recent cooling weather, Lorelai shivered, her thin shoulders trembling pathetically.
She hugged herself and said, “It’s freezing out.”
Leon nodded expressionlessly, “Indeed.”
Lorelai continued, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Leon. “Mr. Olson, does my coffee still suit your

taste?”
“Never had it,” Leon said, feeling a bit odd.
He’d never even gotten out of the car that time. The driver had fetched the coffee. How did she know?
Steam rose from the Mexican tacos as they were served. Lorelai thanked Leon, “Thanks for letting me go first. Next time you buy coffee beans from my shop, I’ll give you a discount.”
“How much of a discount?” Leon asked.
Lorelai batted her eyes playfully. “How much would you like?”
