Our Love 31

Chapter 31
This was blatant teasing, and Seraphina couldn’t help but think, ‘Has this guy lost his mind?”
She yanked her hand away and shouted, “Stop it! Let me go.”
“Well,” Clarence responded lazily while releasing her and stepping back.
But the moment he let go, she sank back into the water. Within a second, he pulled her up again, pinning her back against the wall of the pool.
“What the hell are you trying to do?” Seraphina was angry and flustered, her expression a mix of frustration and helplessness -so adorably fierce that it made her even more tempting.
Clarence gently lifted her chin, and his face moved closer, his warm breath stirring the air between them, thick with an undeniable tension. Tjust want to teach you something.”
Seraphina stared at him, waiting for whatever he was about to say.
A faint, teasing smile played on Clarence’s lips, but his eyes held a sharp intensity. “When you’re in my arms, it’s heaven. If I let go, you be in hell.”
A shiver ran through Seraphina’s wet body as a gust of wind blew past.
“Now, baby,” he murmured. “which do you choose?”
Seraphina blinked in confusion, her mind struggling to process. What do you mean?”
“Silly girl.” Clarence’s hand slid from her chin to her lips, tracing the curve of her mouth before pinching her nose playfully. His voice was soft, but the weight of his words was unmistakable. I mean, come back to me.”
Seraphina stared at him in shock, her lips parting, but it took a few tries before she managed to speak. When she did, her voice was barely more than a whisper. “I’m sorry, I never… Mr. Vanderbilt, I made it clear that day. I’ll repay the installments, just as I promised.
money in
Clarence cut her off, his tone turning cold. “Why should I give you more time? And why are you so sure I’d even agree to your terms?” His eyes bore into hers as he added, “T’ve given you five years, Seraphina. How much longer do you expect me
to wait!”
Seraphina was too shocked to respond.
He pressed closer, eliminating the space between them. Seraphina’s breath hitched, her face turning crimson as she felt hist body against hers. Clarence’s face drew nearer, and panic swirled in her chest.
Then, in one swift motion, he lowered his head, his lips brushing against hers with a tantalizing softness. The faint touch sent a shockwave through her, making her body tremble.
“Listen, I only give second chances to my woman,” Clarence whispered. “So….will you be my woman?”
Seraphina’s mind was in a complete fog.
His voice-low and magnetic, dripping with seduction-was enough to make anyone’s heart skip a beat. Just hearing him speak in that dangerously alluring tone was enough to make her give in, and on top of that, he had that devastatingly handsome face. No girl could resist a man like him when he was turning on the charm like this.
Her whole body felt weak, like she’d lost control over herself, and her heart was pounding wildly. At that moment she realized that five years hadn’t been enough to erase this man, the first man in herlife, from her mind

Chapter 31
She had thought those feelings were buried deep, but all it took was one touch from him, and those emotions came rushing back to the surface.
Who wouldn’t be drawn to such a perfect man? But could she afford to let herself fall again? She hadn’t forgotten why she left him five years ago. Was she really about to repeat the same mistake and get hurt all over again?
He was only interested in her now because she was something he hadn’t fully conquered before-a toy, or a pet that still held some novelty for him. It wasn’t because he had any real feelings for her.
He had once told her that falling in love with him would be the dumbest thing she could ever do. He was a man without a heart. Could she risk getting close to him again?
No matter how much of an angel he looked like on the outside, when he turned cold, he was nothing short of a devil. She was terrified of being dragged back into that abyss.
In the water, Seraphina clenched her fists, trying to muster up some strength. T’m sorry. Mr. Vanderbilt. I’ll get the money together and pay you back as soon as I can. If you need to charge interest, I-
“Sweetheart, you still don’t get it.” Clarence cut her off, his lips curling into a cold, mocking smile. “I’m the only one who can
save you.”
Seraphina genuinely didn’t get it, and she stared into his eyes, silent…
“You won’t get the money, you won’t find a job, and you won’t be able to pay me back. And if you want to play the game of interest, sure, but don’t forget I’m a businessman. We’ll calculate compound interest. By the time we’re done, we’ll be talking millions of dollars.
“But baby, who’s going to pay millions of dollars for you? The woman I set my eyes on, no one else would dare touch,” Clarence explained, his voice dripping with arrogance and control.
Seraphina’s eyes widened in shock as the pieces started to fall into place. “I lost the job at Vantique…was because of you?” *Bingo Clarence didn’t deny it for a second. He gently cupped Seraphina’s face, and for the first time, there was a trace of tenderness in his eyes. “My woman doesn’t serve anyone. She’s only meant to be served by others.”
Seraphina had always thought it was Catherine scheming behind her back, but she had been wrong. It had been Clarence all along.
Of course, for a man like him, controlling everything was second nature. Getting her fired from a job was as easy as snapping his fingers. Who wouldn’t give him a bit of respect?
He claimed he was the one who could save her, but in truth, he was the one who had thrown her into the abyss, only to show up as the so-called savior and play the hero. He spun his web, and now she was trapped with no way out.”
The helplessness of her situation made her eyes well up with unshed tears. Her voice trembled as she whispered, “And what if I say no?”
Clarence’s smile didn’t waver. In fact, it deepened as if he’d heard a joke. He wasn’t angry at all but just replied in a calm tone. “Do you really think you’re in a position to say no to me? Remember that IOU you asked Randy to pass along to me?”
Til honor the debt, just give me some time… Seraphina insisted
Your mother doesn’t know, does she? The money that saved your father came from me. His tone suddenly took on a sinister edge. Shall I show her the IOU?”
Seraphina’s face went pale with shock as she heard that. Their secret arrangement couldn’t be exposed to her family. If Thornas found out she had sold herself to pay for their father’s medical bills, he’d look down on her.
Thomas never approved of a deal like that. He had always despised money-for-favors, especially anything that crossed into.

the territory of trading bodies. To him, Seraphina had always been the sister he respected and admired the most. He listened to her and trusted her.
And Shirley-her mother-believed her to be the most obedient and pure daughter, someone she was proud of. If they ever discovered the dirty truth behind it all….
Seraphina couldn’t bear to think any further. Clarence, this terrifying man, had found her weakest spot and was squeezing it tight, leaving her no room to breathe. She was cornered, trapped, and forced to surrender.
“Do I even have another choice?” she whispered.
Clarence lifted her chin again, studying her face and taking in her expression of helplessness. His lips curled into a smile that was strangely gentle, like a lover’s. “Isn’t being with me the best choice you could make?
Seraphina froze, lost in her thoughts. ‘Being with him? Can I really be with him?”
Her gaze locked onto Clarence’s deep, piercing eyes, trying to decipher the mystery that lay behind them.
