Chapter 41
“Yeah.” The girl maintained her smile. “This is my first time at this gym. Do you work out here often?”
Seraphina smiled. “It’s actually my first time, too.”
“Oh, I see. The girl raised her eyebrows, her smile widening a b It was easy to see she had taken a liking to Seraphina as well. “Im Jennifer Dickens. What’s your name?”
“Seraphina Johnson. Seraphina replied with a smile.
That’s a lovely name, Jennifer complimented. Just then, the elevator doors opened. It was the fifth floor. The two stepped out together.
As soon as the two beauties emerged, all eyes at the front desk turned their way, instantly captivated. Especially the male members, who immediately perked up, trying to make a good impression on the two women. After all, anyone who worked out here usually had some status and wealth.
Jennifer and Seraphina showed their membership cards and entered the gym together, Since it was both their first time, a staff member led them on a tour to familiarize them with the gym. Since it was still morning, there weren’t many people working out.
After they finished getting a tour of the gym, the staff member took them to the locker room.
“Once you’ve changed, Ms. Johnson, Ms. Dickens, you can start your workout,” the staff member said with a friendly smile. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the trainers here.”
“Alright,” Jennifer responded first. “I’ve booked a private boxing goach. Could you let Jordan know I’m here?”
“Of course.” The staff member nodded and left.
Seraphina turned to Jennifer and asked, “You box?”
Jennifer chuckled, “It’s my first lesson. I just decided to pick it up Before this, I was only doing regular workouts,”
Seraphina smiled, feeling an even stronger sense of connection to Jennifer. She said, “Ms. Dickens, we must be meant to meet–both our first time at this gym, and it’s your first boxing class and mine as well. I’ve booked Jack. I’ve heard he’s the best trainer here.”
“Oh, so you got Jack?” Jennifer laughed. “I was hoping to book him, but I was told he was already taken. Turns out, it was you, “Jordan’s great too.” Seraphina reassured her.
“Yeah. The coach is just a guide, Ultimately, it’s up to us to train ourselves, Jennifer said, playfully linking her arm with Seraphina’s as they headed toward the locker room. “Come on. Let’s take the class together.”
The two girls then entered the locker room arm in arm. Seraphina usually wasn’t one to warm up-to people quickly. typically taking a few meetings before getting comfortable. But felt like she and Jennifer had known each other forever.
They changed clothes and headed to their private training rooms. Since they were top–tier members, not only did they get one–on–one personal trainers, but they also had private training rooms
“See you in a bit Jennifer waved with a light smile.
Seraphina nodded. “See you soon Afterward, the two went into her separate training rooms
Since it was her first class, the instructor, Jack, had only made he do some simple physical training and basic boxing moves. It wasn’t too intense, but after the our hour session, she was alrely drenched ju sweat.

“Not bad.” Jack encouraged Seraphina “Everyone goes through this on their first day. After a few more sessions, once your stamina improves, it won’t feel as tiring”
As Seraphina walked out of the private training room, Jennifer had also finished her class. She seemed to be in much better shape. Though she was sweating too, her complexion was flushed, and she looked full of energy
Jennifer bought a bottle of water and handed it to Seraphina, and the two of them sat in the lounge area to rest. Jennifer was wearing a tank top, showing off her toned abs. Seraphina noticed the defined lines and admired them–just like Clarence’s
abs
“Ms. Dickens, you must work out often, right?” Seraphina asked.
“Mhm.” Jennifer nodded. “I’ve always believed that exercise is the key to keeping us youthful and energetic. Skincare products are just a bonus. I never stop working out. The first thing I did when I got to Angoria was get a gym membership.”
“You’re not from Angoria?” Seraphina asked, surprised.
Jennifer shook her head slightly. “No. I’m from Sorelia. I came to Angoria to run one of our branch offices.”
“Wow, Ms. Dickens, you’re a real boss lady, Seraphina said, her admiration for Jennifer instantly shooting up, thinking to herself how this woman was not only disciplined and independent but also stunning–truly perfect.
Jennifer smiled at Seraphina and replied modestly, “Not really. It’s just the family business. I’m just helping manage things.” Then, she asked casually, “And what about you, Ms. Johnson? What do you do for work?”
Seraphina immediately went quiet. Her job was pleasing Clarence, but was that something she could really admit out loud? When Jennifer asked her that question, Seraphina felt a twinge of sadness. She had always been an independent woman, but now she was forced to rely on a man for survival. She could only reply, “I just lost my job and I’m still looking for work.”
“No worries. Take some time to rest and get yourself in the right headspace. That way, you’ll be ready for the next chapter.” Jennifer encouraged her with a smile. She set down her water and extended her hand toward Seraphina. “Come on. Let’s hit the gym and get in a quick workout.”
“I don’t know how, Seraphina admitted.
Tll show you the ropes, Jennifer responded warmly.
“Alright. Seraphina placed her hand in Jennifer’s, and the two of them headed toward the gym. Jennifer, who worked out regularly, was familiar with the equipment and helped Seraphins get comfortable with it. After about an hour of exercising. it was almost noon.
Jennifer suggested, “Let’s grab some lunch, Sera. At some point hey had started calling each other by their first names, dropping the formalities.
They made their way to the garage and climbed into Jennifer’s sports car. Even though Seraphina didn’t know much abour cars, she recognized that this brand’s models easily cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It was clear that Jennifer came from a wealthy background–more than just ordinary rich.
Despite being an heiress of a wealthy family. Jennifer had a down–to–earth attitude, which wasn’t something one saw every day. A lot of socialites acted like they were above everyone else, poking down on the world as if they were its center. But there was only an air of warmth and grace around Jennifer that made people feel at ease.
What do you feel like eating?” Jennifer asked with a smile. “It’s on me. I’m happy to have met you. You’re my first friend here in Angoria”
“Anything works,” Seraphina replied. “Just something simple is fie
“Till take care of it then. Jennifer said, pulling the car out of the arking space.

Jennifer quickly googled a place and found a fine dining restaurant nearby with good reviews. They picked a spot by the window and ordered some of Angoria’s local dishes.
While waiting for the food, they chatted and exchanged birthdays, Jennifer said. “Looks like I’m a month older than you, so that makes me your sister. I don’t know why. Sera, but I feel this instant connection with you. It’s like we’ve known each other forever.”
“I feel that too, Seraphina agreed. “It’s like we’ve been close for allong time.”
“Maybe we’re long–lost sisters, Jennifer joked. “Since we’re clearly meant to meet, we should celebrate with a drink. You up for some wine. Sera?”
Seraphina smiled. If I’ve met someone I’m destined to be friends with, I’d drink even if I couldn’t.”
“Perfect” Jennifer snapped her fingers, calling over t
