Barbara similed at Thomas and teased, “With a handsome guy right before me, what’s there to think about?”
Thomas adjusted his baseball cap, pulling it lower to cover his face. He wasn’t in the mood to be noticed while trying to relax. “Let’s go,” he said calmly before walking ahead.
Barbara and Seraphina followed behind.
Tommy is still as cool as ever, Barbara whispered.
“He’s getting even cooler,” Seraphina sighed softly, “He’s so distant. I wonder what kind of girl could ever win him over.”
Barbara couldn’t hold back any longer and confessed, “Actually, I did just see a handsome guy, like a prince out of a fairy
Tale
Seraphina stayed silent.
The to entered the bar, and the waiter led them to a booth.
“What would you like to drink? The
iter handed them the menu. “We have drink packages, or you can order à la carte.”
Seraphina passed the drink menu to Thomas
More and more people were filling the bar, and soon, hardly any seats were left. The swirl of laser lights bathed the young faces in a soft glow,
“Let’s just get a package. Thomas said to Seraphina.
“Alright, Seraphina agreed. “We couldn’t finish cocktails anyway Barb, do you want to order some snacks?”
Barbara, ever the foodie, started to respond but suddenly gasped, covering her mouth in shock. Her eyes lit up with surprise and excitement as she glanced at the table beside them.
“What’s the matter!” Seraphina followed Barbara’s gaze.
Two men and two women sat on the couch, all strikingly attractive.
Barbara swallowed hard, whispering, “Sera, remember I told you saw a handsome guy earlier? It’s him, the one in the black
shirt.”
Frank had a presence that outshone the others, and Seraphina immediately noticed him. “He really is handsome,” she agreed. “Like a prince–polished and well–mannered.”
“Exactly. You know how much I love elegant guys. I have zero resistance to them, Barbara said, nodding eagerly. “Well then, don’t be shy, Seraphina chuckled. ‘Don’t miss this chance. Why not go over and say hi?
Barbara shook her head sadly. “Look at me and him. We’re worlds apart. His belt is fermes, and the girl with him has a limited edition bag worth tens of thousands of dollars. Sera, do you think me making a move would do any good?”
Seraphina stayed silent. The wealth gap between Barbara and Frank was undeniably large, and she didn’t know how to respond.
The four people at the neighboring table exuded a certain radiance, the kind of pride only the wealthy seem to carry effortlessly. One girl, in particular, was strikingly beautiful, her aloof expression showing apparent disdain for everything around her. Yet, her arrogance seemed natural, almost like she was born with it

Seraphina’s attention was drawn to Lucia.
A laser light beam passed, and Lucia’s eyes‘ shifted toward Seraphina. Their gazes met for a brief moment. Despite her haughty demeanor, there was no trace of arrogance in the look Lucia gave Seraphina. In fact, when she noticed Seraphina watching her, she even smiled slightly as a friendly gesture. Her eyes briefly flashed with admiration for Seraphina’s beauty.
Seraphina responded with a slight nod, thinking. Though this girl appears outwardly proud, she seems kind–hearted underneath. She’s actually quite likable.
“Im going to the toilet, Thomas suddenly said. As he stood up, a beam of light swept across his face. With the bar’s dim lighting, no one had really noticed him before. But now, with the hat off, the light caught his entire face.
Thomas had barely taken two steps away from the booth when, out of nowhere, a cold splash of liquid hit him square in the face, drenching him.
Thomas made no attempt to dodge the splash. He stood motionless, lifting his gaze to lock eyes with Lucia, who, being a head shorter, had thrown the drink at him in a fit of anger. His expression remained stoic as he stared at her.
Lucia’s bold move stunned everyone around them.
Seraphina, in particular, was taken aback. Just moments earlier, they exchanged a polite glance, and she saw Lucia’s expression shift slightly as she picked up her glass and rose from the couch. Seraphina hadn’t thought much of it until she realized Lucia had thrown the drink all over Thomas.
Seraphina thought Lucia seemed friendly, only to witness this fiery outburst. Do they know each other?‘ she wondered.
Lucia, what are you doing.” Evelyn shot up in shock, but her words trailed off when she saw who had been drenched. Her eyes widened as she gasped in disbelief, Thomas… It’s really you. You’re Thomas Johnson.”
Evelyn covered her mouth, her excitement barely contained as she looked at Thomas with awe. “I’m a huge fan. I’ve watched every one of your games. I can’t believe I’m seeing you in person. You’re even more handsome than on TV. Thomas, could you sign an autograph for me?”
“Evelyn” Frank gently pulled her back.
Only then did Evelyn bite her lip and fall silent, feeling her behavior was out of place. After all, Lucia, her sister, had just thrown a drink in Thomas‘ face.
“Tommy, what’s going on?” Seraphina asked.
Thomas didn’t reply, but his cold gaze locked on Lucia as he smirked slightly. He had recognized her.
Lucia crossed her arms and sneered, “Satisfied?”
Thomas remained expressionless, casually wiping his face and responding calmly, “Very”
Lucia tilted her chin up with haughty confidence. “I bet your head is clear now.”
Thomas sneered.
Lucia added, “Good, let’s talk about compensation.”
Thomas remained silent as Seraphina handed him a tissue.
Clearly, Thomas and Lucia had unresolved tension, and Seraphina chose to stay quiet for now.
Taking the tissue, Thomas wiped his face with a nonchalant grace that somehow made him seem even more composed than Lucia, which only irritated her further.

Her chest rose slightly in frustration as she snapped, “Don’t think staying silent will get you off the hook. My dress cost six
thousand dollars, and my sunglasses one thousand two hundred dollars. I’ll round it down for even thousand dollars
will do.”
At this. Thomas sneered, “They are all second–hand, and you expect me to pay full price? Miss, are you that short on cash?”
Lucia froze, thinking. ‘Short on cash? My handbag alone is worth more than that.” She scoffed, “Second–hand or not, they re still luxury brands, far out of your league.
Thomas toyed with the tissue in his hand, unfazed by Lucia’s sharp words. His tone remained indifferent as he replied, “I don’t have money, but I could offer something else. How about a night together? I’m still fresh. You second–hand wouldn’t
lose out
Lucia stood speechless, her fury building. She thought, ‘He’s just insulting me
Unable to tolerate Thomas‘ cold and arrogant attitude any longer. Lucia finally lost her composure and raised her hand to slap him across the face.
But this time, Thomas was ready. In a swift move, he caught Lucia’s wrist before she could strike. With a quick tug, he pulled her toward him effortlessly.
