Chapter 91: Lucian Regretted Letting Willow Fall for Fletcher
Willow and Shane turned towards the sound.Shane, unfazed by Lucian’s remark, leaned closer to Willow.
“Smell carefully. Is it blood or wine?”
Willow, instinctively holding her breath, smelled wine. She’d assumed the scent was from her glass, but she’d thrown it at Fletcher. She smelled the wine again, closer to Shane. His lips, indeed, weren’t the color of congealed blood. They were remarkably kissable, she thought, instantly
hastising herself.
“It’s Dr. Caldwell!“The guests gasped. They’d known Lucian would attend, but he never interacted with the general crowd. Now, a deity had descended.
Lucian raised a hand, stopping his bodyguards. They were puzzled; he usually avoided public appearances. His arrival even surprised the dignitaries upstairs.
He was immediately surrounded. The bodyguards stepped forward, but Lucian stopped them again. Willow was distracted by the commotion, realizing Lucian was struggling to breathe. She pushed through the crowd.“Excuse me!”
She reached Lucian, pushing past the last of the crowd to get behind his wheelchair. She pushed him toward the elevator.
“What are you doing down here?” she asked, without any reproach. She never criticized Lucian. “If my nephew is a dog, he should go to obedience school and repeat a semester.”
Willow chuckled

Lucian was wheeled into the elevator.Shane entered just as they turned, oblivious to Lucian’s presence.Lucian frowned, as if his territory had been invaded.
“What cologne are you using, Shane? Strong tea scent.”

Willow understood the implication. She was amazed. She’d thought Lucian was aloof; he could even identify teas! Her admiration deepened.
Shane smirked, looking at Lucian with disdain.
“I know a little about fragrances.Someone like Dr. Caldwell is suited to white lotus–a seemingly innocent, gentle scent that’s actually very manipulative.”
“Uncle Lucian isn’t a white lotus!” Willow retorted, making Shane’s heart skip a beat.Lucian was the main man, leaving him a chance to be the other man!
“That’s only half true, Shane.Uncle Lucian is a sacred lotus. He endures pain silently.“She saw him rubbing his knee and retrieved two warming patches from the wheelchair’s storage compartment.“Let me put these on.”
“Thank
you,” Lucian said indifferently.
Willow knelt, placing the patches on his knees.Lucian’s gaze fell on her, then shifted to

Willow didn’t see it, but the bodyguards did. They tensed Shane mouthed, Cripple!” but said aloud, “Uncle Lucian, you need to take care of your knees

Willow got a blanket to cover Lucian’s legs. You’re not that much older than him.
Lucian, ignoring Shane, had a superior air. He viewed people like a normal person would view a dog Shane gritted his teeth, noticing Lucian’s smirk.
“Oops!” Willow exclaimed, picking something up from the floor–two VIP tickets to an international car race (Beijing leg). Someone must have slipped them into her pocket. They were ping she’d go to the race, allowing them to approach her later. If she didn’t go, the tickets would be forgotten.
Willow’s fingers moved slightly Seven years ago, she’d qualified for the Beijing race but withdrew, ending a friendship.
“Want to go?” Shane asked, not “watch,” but “participate.”
Willow shook her head. I’m not qualified.“She’d lost seven years of her racing career. Her ranking
was zero.
Her hand trembled slightly.“I might not be able to…”
Racing was different from math.Racing required physical prowess. After pregnancy, she was far from her peak. A mother returning to elite motorsports was nearly impossible.
Lucian looked at Willow’s face. He was a genius, always right. But one decision haunted him: letting Willow choose Fletcher.
