Chapter 14
Eros POV
The drive to the Moon Walker pack was relatively long as it took about 2 hrs to drive from our pack to theirs and as the drive was mostly done in silence I can’t help but feel the tension between everyone.
“Zeus is on edge‘ grumbles Deimos who could feel his brothers worry.
‘So is Ares‘ I comment, my eyes catching the time on the car’s dash, noticing that it was now approaching 5:30pm and we were just now approaching our destination.
“Here” calls Kai, which jolts us from our thoughts as we move to gaze at the surrounding area of the pack, noticing that the pack’s land lacked many things including scenery as if it was built to be a campsite and not a place to call home.
“Talk about depressing” mumbles Lucas as he looks out his window.
“I know, it’s like the Alpha refused such luxuries to the pack” remarks Kai as he continued to drive up the narrow drive, Seth right behind him as other packs also began to arrive as well.
“Forget luxuries, we’re here for one thing and one thing only” replies Ares as he moves to focus. on his surroundings. “We’re here to find our mate and to please the stupid Council“.
“Exactly” I comment, even though I couldn’t care less about the Council at the moment.
Just then, we slowly approach the pack house just as others do before putting our car into park as we all begin to climb out. “Hello and Welcome to the Moon Walker pack” greets a voice, causing. us to turn and see a man with emerald green eyes and sandy blonde hair, his aura powerful but not powerful enough to be Alpha which leads you to believe he was the Beta of the pack.
“Hello” we say as the man gestures to a few people who move to help with bags, while others move to park the vehicles.
“I’m Beta Collin, and this here is my son” says Collin as he gestures to Brian, a miniature version
of himself.
“It’s nice to meet you, I’m Ares Moonheart and this is my brother Eros Moonheart along with Kai, Seth and Sam our Future Beta, Gamma and Delta as well as their mates, Lucas, Emma and Emily” greets Ares as he gestures to everyone within our group. “We come from the Mystic Shadow Pack“.
“Ah yes, perfect, we’ve been expecting you” remarks Collin as he moves to jot down everyone’s

name. “Now then, if you’ll be so kind as to walk this way, my son will show you all to the guest wing and to the room you’ll be staying in.”
“Of course, thank you” is all I say as we all move to follow the Beta’s son, another car pulling up as we walk up the flight of steps that lead into the pack house.
“What’s your name?” asks Emma as we all follow behind him, hoping to make small talk as we did.
“The names Brian, Brian Lockheart, Future Beta of the Moon Walkers” says Brian with a smile as he continues to show us toward our room and to where the guest wings were.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Emma, Emma Wolfheart.”
“Pleasure” smiles Brian as he silently eyes Emma, his focus elsewhere as he continues all small
talk now gone.
“I don’t like him‘ growls Deimos as we continue to follow Brian.
“Why?” I ask, unsure why Deimos would dislike the young Beta.
“He smells faintly of our mate… so did the Beta outside‘ growls Deimos which has me pausing, my nose now sniffing the area around him as we walk, allowing me to pick up the faint smell.
*Your right, I do smell it‘ I purr as I pick up faint traces of lavender and warm honey, wondering if Ares and Zeus had picked up on the scent as well.
“Mate must be close‘ purrs Deimos who couldn’t wait to meet her.
“I’m sure she is pal‘ is all I say to him just as Brian stops at a set of doors.
“Here we are, the guest wing. This suite is yours during the duration of your stay, I hope you find everything to your liking, dinner will be at 7 o’clock down in the dining hall” is all Brian says as he moves to walk away allowing us space as we all move to enter the large space, noticing rich dark woods and soft creams as the room was built to accommodate 5 or more people.
“Guess we all know where those luxuries went” coughs Sam as we move to stand inside the room, knowing he was referring to the Pack house as it was the most grandest building within all the pack.
“Agreed” remarks Seth just as I move to speak up.
“Did you smell it?” I ask, once we were standing within the suite.

“Smell what?” asks Sam as he moves to look at me.
“Our Mate, Did you smell her?” I ask again, my eyes moving to those of my brother.
“I did, it was faint but Zeus and I did “” to smell her, a faint trace of warm vanilla and honey
with a small smell of something sweet like cotton candy or caramel” replies Ares as he looks to
his brother.
“Huh, I didn’t pick that up, but I did smell lavender and honey” I admit surprised I didn’t catch
the sweet smell.
“That’s normal, since your both identical twins, you basically share everything from looks to dna, the only thing that’s different is your sense of smell as your mate will smell slightly different to
you while giving you both a unique scent that is strictly yours” admits Emily who was familiar
with twins and their need to share one mate.
“Huh, interesting” we both say before noticing the clock on the wall, noticing that it now read 6pm which meant we had another hour until dinner.
“Guess we ought to use this time to get ourselves ready” chimes Seth, as he moves to take Emma towards one of the rooms, their bags in tow as they did.
“Agreed” remarks Sam, as he too took Emily and took her towards another one, leaving only Ares and I along with Kai and Lucas to decide among the remaining three rooms. Laughing, Kai quickly moves to take Lucas towards the third room, leaving me and Ares alone to fight over the last two
rooms.
“Okay Ares, which room?” I ask, trying to be nice.
“Does it matter? It’s just a room” smirks Ares as he moves to grab his stuff before moving over to the fourth room, leaving me with the last and final room.
“Fine, I see your point” I grumble, grabbing my stuff as I did. Once near my room, I quickly call out to Ares before he could close the door. “See you at dinner?”
“See you at dinner” is his only reply as he moves to enter his room, just as I move to enter mine.
“Well pal, looks like dinner is about to get a whole lot crazier‘ I say to Deimos as I move to get ready for tonight’s dinner.
“Indeed‘ is all Deimos says, his excitement seeping through the bond while thinking of nothing
but our mate.
