Chapter 12
The next day at the film set,
Nora stormed up to me like a madwoman.
“Violet! What did you say to Damian yesterday?! Why did he kick me out?”
“You can’t keep a man, but now you’re trying to drive a wedge between me and Damian! You’re a damn monster!”
Her eyes were swollen, and her hair was a mess. She was nothing like the self–satisfied woman from yesterday.
Seeing my cold expression, Nora became even more enraged, but before she could make a move,
Damian arrived and shoved her aside.
“Nora, I warned you–don’t harass Violet. Do you not understand?”
He then called over the director.
“Nora is replaced. The second female lead will remain as planned.”
“And someone get the stagehands to escort Nora out. Don’t let her come back in.”
After that, he turned to me with an expectant look.
“Violet, I’ve already gotten rid of Nora. I don’t want the child anymore.”
“I know you’re still mad at me, but it’s okay. I’ll wait. Starting today, I’ll be with you, just like before.
“Let me make it up to you, with actions. Okay?”
I stared at him, speechless.
“Didn’t I make myself clear yesterday? It’s over, Damian.”
If you keep following me, I’ll call the police.”
Damian continued to pester me for two days.
Until the Howard family forcibly sent him back to the old estate.
Hearing the news, Vincent sneered, “Finally gone.”
Seeing the smug look on his face, I asked in confusion,
“You didn’t leak the news to the Howard family, did you?”
Vincent’s response was a noncommittal look.
I smiled and shook my head.
This man… he was very possessive.
After Damian was sent back to the old estate,
news spread through the circle.
Damian was going to marry Nora in a month. The bride was actress Nora.
When the house arrest ended, Nora finally saw Damian, who had been confined at home.
After a long time apart, his stubble had grown out, and his aura was dim–desperate and broken.
Upon hearing the decision from the Howard patriarch, he nearly lost it.
He shouted, “I told you! I want to marry Violet! If you want Nora to enter the door, then marry her! Why are you making me marry her?!”
The Howard patriarch was shaking with anger.
He slammed the table hard. “You ungrateful brat! The child is yours. Shouldn’t you take responsibility? Don’t embarrass the Howard family. Haven’t you already caused enough trouble these days?”
“Compared to your brother, you’re just pathetic.”
Damian replied coldly,
“I’m not marrying Nora, and I don’t want the child! I won’t let you control me anymore!”
“This damn Howard family can give the child to whoever they want! I don’t want any part of it! Don’t try to use this to threaten me again!”

The air was thick with tension, and neither grandfather nor grandson was willing to back down.
In the end, however, they couldn’t twist the arm of the powerful patriarch.
Damian and Nora’s wedding was set for 20 days later.
Hearing the news,
I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It was good to part ways on decent terms. As for Damian, I had already let go.
This was the best outcome for both of us.
