Chapter 3
Luke had accidentally dirtied his suit while inspecting the car. Seeing the White family emerging from the villa, he didn’t dwell on it and promptly retrieved several gift boxes from the ink. The Lynch couple had stressed the importance of delivering these gifts to the White family. Unfortunately, the boxes had been crushed in a previous fender bender, not looking too nice on the outside.
“Hey there, are you Mr. White?” Luke approached Zachary politely, offering him the gift boxes, extending the gift boxes. “Here are our gifts for your kindness. Please take them”
“Thanks, but sorry. These years, we- Zachary quickly declined
“No gifts needed! Just take her back quickly. Don’t keep her family waiting!” Ada interrupted, and losing interest in the situation, she headed straight indoors, ‘Look at those crumpled boxes. They surely aren’t anything special. I have no use for such trinkets!
Muriel suppressed a smug smile, following Ada inside. She looked like a conquering heroine, relishing in the perceived inferior background of the Lynch family.
The servants trailed in after her, their expressions ranging from disdain to pity and indifference
Left alone and feeling awkward. Zachary spoke up. “Wish you a safe journey. As for these gifts, please pass them on to Yvonne’s family as a sign of my respect for them.”
“But Luke hesitated, daring not to go against the Whites‘ instructions.
Yvonne Zachary turned to Yvonne, hinting. “Remember to behave and respect your parents there. Forget about us, got it?” The implicit message was that Yvonne, now a Lynch, shouldn’t dwell on thoughts about the White family.
“Mr. White, accept these gifts please. Mr. White? Luke was about to explain that the gifts included property deeds and keys to thirty villas, thirty commercial properties, a billion–dollar bank card, plus rare herbs that couldn’t be found on the market. However, watching Zachary head indoors, Luke hesitated. Why do I feel they aren’t too keen on Ms. Lynch? Did I read that wrong?
“Let’s go. Yvonne said, fixing the car door back into place effortlessly.
Luke stared at Yvonne in the car, shocked. ‘Ms. Lynch just installed the car door? How did she manage that?
Throughout the journey, Yvonne looked out the window absentmindedly, her striking beauty captivating.
Luke occasionally glanced at her through the rearview mirror, increasingly seeing a resemblance to the young Cherry. Her every gesture exuded elegance.
“Aren’t we heading to Eden County?” Yvonne suddenly inquired, her gaze shifting to Luke.
“Eden County?” Luke snapped out of his daze. “Oh, that’s the birthplace of Mr. and Mrs. Lynch. Your home is in Betrico.”
Betrico, the bustling frondine city of the nation, was divided into four regions–east, west, south, and north. Among them, the north area was the most underdeveloped. The north area was split into UpperRiver, DownRiver, LeftRiver, and Right River, with RightRiver being the slowest in economic growth. Beneath RightRiver lay Springtown, Summertown, Autumntown, and Wintertown.
Zachary was the wealthiest man in Wintertown, moving from a third–tier after half–a–lifetime struggling. Despite Wintertown being the must backward in the city, he had a personal fortune exceeding 300 million dollars, and this was why Ada looked down on others.

After Muriel entered the house, she glanced out the window and froze in disbelief. “Mom, the car…

“What’s up?” Ada followed her gaze, unimpressed “Muriel, listen up. You’re cutting ties with Yvonne. She’s not your sister anymore. Block her contacts. Even if she tries to borrow money through other ways, don’t give in, understood?”
Muriel explained. “Mom, seems that their license plate was from Betrico, a series of sixes! A license plate like that in Betrico. was a big deal.
Ada had only glimpsed the side of the car, missing the rear plate. So, she just chuckled, considering Muriel to be a tad clueless. In our city, only the one at the top has a license plate with five identical digits. Yvonne’s family is from Eden County. You must have misjudged something!”
Even our license plate isn’t anything special. How could the Lynch family have such a fancy one?‘ Ada sneered, “Unless they live at Lake Mansion. It was the ritziest, most elite residential zone in Betrico, right at downtown’s heart.
In the Rolls–Royce. Luke spoke respectfully, “Ms. Lynch, we’re still 10 miles away from Lake Mansion. If you’re feeling tired, feel free to rest.
‘Lake Mansion? The most upscale villa zone in town?‘ Yvonne’s charming eyes widened slightly. Then she inquired, ‘Can we make a quick stop at Betrico Hospital? Betrico Hospital boasted top–notch medical facilities, not too far from Lake
Mansion
“Feeling unwell?” Luke sounded concerned. Tll speed up tight away.”
“Before leaving, I wanna visit Grandma Sienna, Yvonne explained. Sienna White was the only one truly caring for her. Once knowing Yvonne wasn’t a White, Sienna fell ill and had to be hospitalized.
Luke was surprised by her strong sense of family, and his opinion of her rose a notch.
Ten minutes later, the car arrived at Betrico Hospital. Yvonne get out, telling Luke sofily, Find a place to wait.”
“Got it. Luke replied.
In Ward 301 of Betrico Hospital lay silver–haired Sienna. Illness had taken its toll, making her weak and fragile. As Yvonne entered, Sienna was still unconscious, her face pale, eyes shut tight. The wrinkles on her forehead spoke of past troubles. Yvonne approached silently, her heart heavy. “When did the lively old lady turn into this?”
“Yvonne.” The young doctor, Yaron Dawson glanced at her and then back at the medical records. “You’re just in time. Let’s talk” He put down his pen and looked up at her. “You see, treatment for heart issues won’t be effective anymore. The earlier medication prolonged her time, but it doesn’t work now. End–stage heart failure is a dead–end, no coming back. Her survival until now is truly remarkable.”
