Chapter 4
Before Yaron could finish speaking, Yvonne flung a tiny bottle over, her eyes locked on Sienna the whole time.
“Heartwell Pill?” Yaron examined the object in his hand, his shock evident. “Yvonne, where did ya get this?”
Isn’t this the talk of the town lately on the black market, touted as a wonder drug for hearts, each tiny capsule fetching millions? The price isn’t the kicker. The real deal is how dang rare this thing is, with only one auctioned off each month. How did Yvonne get something this scarce?’ he mused
The White family treated you poorly. You’ve done plenty for them, no need. Yaron stopped short as he caught Yvonne’s intense glare. Nevertheless, he continued. “What’s the matter? Did I say something out of line? Sienna’s own kin isn’t even half as devoted as you are.”
Half a year back. Yaron graduated from a top-notch med school and secured an internship at Betrico Hospital. Coming from a distinguished medical background, he had a bit of an air of superiority. Yet, it wasn’t until he met Yvonne that he learned what exceptional talent was.
Once, he was dissecting a tricky medical case, burning the midnight oil night after night. Yvonne just took one glance and provided an ace solution in a few words. Another time, Yvonne glimpsed at a patient’s X-rays and CT scans and immediately identified lung cancer, while his initial diagnosis was severe pneumonia.
Numerous similar instances existed. But what truly astounded him was how Yvonne repeatedly rescued Sienna, a soul on the brink of death, from the clutches of hell.
Yvonne, just a high school student, kept surprising him every time she appeared, breaking down his arrogance and making him humble. During this half-year internship, Yaron witnessed Yvonne being mistreated by the White family, and as they got to know each other, they became friends.
He knew that in Sienna’s case, a heart transplant would be the best option. But given her age, high blood pressure, and complete heart failure, surgery was out of the question. Yvonne was now using Heartwell Pills on her to improve her condition, so she wouldn’t be too weak to survive the surgery. The White family, unaware, oblivious, believed that some money and keeping Sienna in the VIP ward would solve everything.
“If it were the White family, they sure wouldn’t drop 10 million on this, Yaron remarked.
“Alright, just make sure to look after Sienna for me. Yvonne glanced at Sienna, adding reluctantly, “I have to go.”

If Sienna woke up and saw her, it could stir up intense emotions possibly worsening her condition. The situation would become more troublesome by then
Yaron looked at her and whispered, “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of her
“Thanks.” Yvonne’s gaze lingered on Sienna. She had many words on her mind, but in the end, she left without saying anything.
Meanwhile, several doctors rushed down the hallway, appearing flustered.
“What’s going on? How did Mr. Matthew Sanchez’s condition suddenly deteriorate?
“I heard that he stopped taking his medication to pressure Mr. Christopher Sanchez into showing up.”
This is simply outrageous!”
Not long after Yvonne left Ward 301, one of the doctors accidentally bumped into her on their way to Ward 306. Yvonne passed by and saw a dying Matthew on the hospital bed
“He actually stopped his medication on his own. Isn’t he playing games with his own life?”

Chapter 4
“What should we do now? Has his family been notified?”
They are on their way, and all we can do is wait for them to decide on the surgery
Yvonne stood at the door and remarked casually, “By the time he family arrives, he’ll already be gone.”
Upon hearing this, the nervous doctors immediately turned their heads and saw Yvonne standing at the doorway. She appeared to be in her teens but exuded a cool demeanor. Her eyes were bright and clear, and her slender, fair legs added to
her charm.
“What do you know, young lady?” a chief physician, Ethan James dismissed her as a child, “This old man’s condition is very complicated. If we were confident, the hospital would have saved him right away. But we have no choice but to wait for his family now.”
Yvonne raised an eyebrow in doubt and asked faintly, “Is rheumatic heart disease this severe?!”
“You can tell?” Ethan was surprised.
Another doctor, Tina, was also amazed. “Does this girl even know about medicine?”
“Since you know this disease, then you must also know it requires valve replacement surgery, right? This gentleman has already undergone several valve replacements Ethan explained
Yvonne lifted her delicate face, her eyes gleaming with indifference. “If so, it only means you haven’t used the full course of antibiotics, leading to infection and valvular dehiscence.”
The doctors in the room were all astounded.
This young girl really knows medicine?”
“She even knows about valvular dehiscence”
The reason why Matthew developed an infection and valvular dehiscence was just that he stopped his medication, failing to complete the full course of antibiotics.
“Why bother arguing with a kid? How much longer until the family gets here?” Mark Johnson, the top heart specialist at the hospital, added in. Despite being in his fifties, his voice carried authority.
“Dr. Johnson.” All heads turned in respect, and one doctor replied, “At least twenty minutes.”
“Too long. Mark calculated mentally. Matthew couldn’t wait any longer.
Having previously undergone mitral valve replacement surgery overseas, he later faced valvular dehiscence. Following another heart valve replacement surgery abroad, he encountered infection and a recurrence of valvular dehiscence shortly after. At that critical moment, there was no time to seek treatment abroad, only local treatment was an option.
The cardiac surgery department at Betrico Hospital had a stellar reputation nationwide, and Mark’s surgical skills were notoriously exceptional. On that night, under immense pressure he successfully performed a near impossible surgery, almost a miracle. However, Matthew later developed an infectios, requiring another surgery.
Matthew’s condition had worsened now. His upper respiratory infection had evolved into pneumonia, which was barely managed before heart failure symptoms emerged. After an examination just now, Mark found that Matthew had developed prosthetic valve infective endocarditis and valvular dehiscence. The success rate of operating under such conditions was less than 10%. The only option now was to wait for the family to arrive
