Chapter 4
Nelson looked me up and down, his expression darkening as he saw my high–end outfit and expensive accessories.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t we agree to part ways? Are you stalking me now?”
He had the audacity to act like he owned the place. “I’ll tell you right now. You better leave immediately, or I’ll have security throw you out.”
Before I could respond, Nelson sneered. “So you bought such a nice house with money from being a
service provider for the rich, huh?”
“My mom was right about you. Pretty women like you are all trouble. Luckily, we’ve broken up. I
can’t imagine how many times I’d have ended up wearing a green hat if we stayed together.”
I quickly understood that Nelson had mistaken me for some kind of escort. My anger flared, but I
controlled myself, gritting my teeth and asking, “Are you out of your mind?”
Nelson didn’t stop, spewing more insults. I clenched my fists, holding back the urge to punch him.
But I knew better than to argue with him. This was my dad’s company, and I didn’t want to make a
scene here. I simply wanted to find out why he was here.
Nelson quickly realized what I intended. He blocked the door, his eyes full of mockery. “So, what,
you want to ruin my reputation?”
I shot him a cold look. “You’re not worth my time. I just don’t want to share a space with trash. And
don’t get too cocky. This is the Nick family’s company, not yours.”
Nelson’s face darkened. “I don’t care if we signed the breakup agreement.
Let me tell you, this company may be the Nick family’s for now, but soon, it’ll be mine. I met the CEO
at a banquet yesterday, and he was very pleased with me.
He said he’d marry his daughter to me.”
“You must know that the Nick family only has one precious daughter. Once I marry her, I’ll own the entire Nick family business.
That’s why I broke up with you. You’re nothing compared to what’s coming my way.”

I frowned, but before I could speak, Nelson grinned again.
I get it now. You came here because you know I’m about to become the Nick family’s son–in–law. You think you can sabotage me for money?”
1:
“You can forget it. Whether you want to be a mistress or beg for money, none of it’s going to work. If you want to survive in this city, you better leave… now.”
Just as Nelson finished speaking, the door swung open, and my parents stood at the entrance, looking furious.
“Who dares to threaten our precious daughter in our company?”
et out a sigh of relief and walked behind my parents.
Their expressions were dark, especially my mom’s. She had always spoiled me, and at this moment, she looked like she might explode in anger.
However, in Nelson Jim’s eyes, this situation carried a completely different meaning.
He straightened his clothes and walked over to Mr. Nick, smiling. “Dad… no, Mr. Nick, I’m doing all this for your good.”
“You must have been blinded by this shameless woman, treating her like a treasure. You probably
don’t know, but she was once my girlfriend.
I broke up with her after discovering she was messing around with other men and women.”
My parents were aware that I had been hiding my relationship with Nelson Jim, so when they heard this, my mother shot me a disappointed look.
I felt a little embarrassed and instinctively hid behind my father, not daring to meet my mother’s
gaze.
But that look made Nelson Jim think my mother despised me. He continued, speaking to my father
as if he hadn’t heard me.
“And here’s Mrs. Nick, too. How could you call her ‘my treasure‘ in front of Mrs. Nick? Where does that leave her dignity?”
My father was almost completely confused and didn’t know what to say.
Nelson Jim lowered his voice and spoke to my father.

“Although Mrs. Nick only gave you a daughter, a daughter isn’t so bad! Without a daughter, how would you have such an outstanding son–in–law like me?”
“Don’t worry, after I marry your daughter, we’ll definitely have a few sons, and they’ll all take the Nick family name. That way, we can continue the family line.”
My father was livid, his face turning dark. He raised his hand, ready to strike. I knew that I had to avoid a confrontation with Nelson Jim at all costs; dealing with a man like him was a nightmare.
