Chapter 77
“When they wished me a happy birthday just now, you didn’t seem surprised at all. So, you already knew, right? Did Sharon tell you?” Clarence asked.
Seraphina wrinkled her nose but didn’t deny it. Clarence extended her hand, the palm up.
“What’s up?” Seraphina blinked wide–eyed.
“My gift, Clarence said with a smile.
Seraphina grinned mischievously, “I didn’t prepare anything.”
“You definitely have.”
“It’s too cheap. I feel embarrassed to give it, Seraphina pouted.
Seeing the birthday gifts from the three siblings to Clarence, Seraphina truly felt inferior and was somewhat reluctant to give hers.
“You little fool” Clarence lightly pinched Seraphina’s chin. “A gift isn’t about its value. It’s about the sentiment. What you gave me is what I love the most.
Seraphina felt Clarence’s sweet words melt in her heart like honey. “It’s at the villa. I’ll give it to you when we return.”
What is it?” Clarence asked curiously.
Seraphina teased, “You’ll find out when we get back.”
“You naughty girl.” Clarence leaned down and kissed Seraphina
The two stayed in the hallway for a while until Frank came looking for Clarence, prompting him to walk away and talk with Frank.
Lucia and Evelyn called to Seraphina. “Sera, come and sit here
There were chairs on the terrace, and Seraphina walked over and sat down while Lucia poured some wine.
Evelyn scooted her chair a bit closer to Seraphina and smiled innocently at her, “Sera, when will you and Clarence go public?”
Seraphina felt a bit embarrassed. Evelyn was young and viewed the relationship between her and Clarence very simply. Lucia handed the wine to Evelyn. “That’s between Clarence and Sera. Don’t ask too much. Just remember not to spread it around. You know, Clarry hates people prying into his private matters”
“I know, I won’t spill anything. Evelyn said, pouting. “But Auntie wants to…”
“Let’s drink, Lucia cut her off
Evelyn obediently said, “Alright, and then started drinking
Seraphina noticed Evelyn’s hesitance to speak. Evelyn’s aunt was Clarence’s mother. Lucia’s interruption suggested that what Evelyn had left unsaid could be unfavorable to her and Clarence’s relationship
The relationships within the wealthy circles were too complicated, so Seraphina chose to ignore them.
The three of them drank wine, and Evelyn leaned closer to Seraphina, grinning oddly, “Sera, um what has Thomas been

busy with lately?”
Lucia paused for a moment while pouring the wine but returned to normal and continued the next second.
Seraphina chuckled. “He is training in Kingsland and getting ready for the World Cup soon.
“Oh, right, he was selected for the national team! I’m so happy for him, Evelyn said innocently. “Sera, I admire Thomas so much. Could you tell me more about his preferences? For example, what type of girls does he like?”
With the question, Evelyn blush slightly and covered her mouth with a giggle, displaying the most adorable look of a girl experiencing her first crush.
“Well Seraphina thought for a moment before saying, Tm not really sure about that. He has never talked to me about these things, and he hasn’t shown interest in any girl”
Lucia swirled her wine glass, remaining silent, appearing uninterested in their conversation.
“Really, he hasn’t even had his first love?” Evelyn beamed with delight.
Seraphina shook her head. “With his low social skills, how could he possibly have a girlfriend?”
“But he’s so handsome, Evelyn said cutely, resting her chin on her hand. “He should become a star.” “Looking handsome means nothing if he’s as cold as ice toward everyone. No girl can stand that,”
“I can!” Evelyn sat up straighter, looking serious. Tm just the fire that can melt him.”
Seraphina couldn’t help but laugh. Evelyn was so naive. She didn’t want to pour cold water on her, but Lucia didn’t hesitate, “Have you seen that one video?”
“What video?” Evelyn asked, her eyes wide.
“There’s a red–hot iron placed on a large ice ball. People thought the ice ball would melt from the hot iron, but the truth is, the temperature of the iron gradually lowered until it became cold as well.
Lucia sneered, “You think your fiery passion can melt a solid ice ball? The only thing you could melt is a handful of loose snow. Don’t naively crash into a wall. A man as unromantic as him is not for you.”
“That’s not true, Evelyn pouted. “I can heat the iron and continue to melt the ice ball. Eventually, the ice ball will melt.” Lucia scoffed, “You’re crazy.”
“Love should be crazy. If we don’t act crazy when we’re young, do we wait until we’re old” Evelyn said earnestly. “Besides, not all relationships start with mutual feelings. The one who falls first puts in the effort to move the other person and then receives their heartfelt return. Isn’t that wonderful?”
Lucia lightly patted Evelyn’s shoulder. “You’re twenty now. Can’t you be less naive? What else attracts you to that guy other than his looks? Is your threshold for being infatuated a bit too low?”
Seraphina helplessly thought. Lucia, have you forgotten about Thomas‘ sister? I’m right here! How can you so openly criticize my brother? It seems there’s quite a deep resentiment between Thomas and Lucia.
Evelyn, unhappy that Lucia was criticizing her idol, immediately took out her phone as evidence. “If Thomas has no other attractive qualities, why does he have so many fans? Is it all just because he’s handsome?”
“Exactly!” Lucia shrugged, confirming her point.
Evelyn, flustered, found a video on her phone and hit play, directing it at Lucia, “Lucia, take a look yourself. This was the match where Thomas attracted most of his lants three years ago

The match was an away game for him. The Isle Champions faced the strongest domestic team, the Hende. They were
already at a disadvantage in terms of strength, and worse, during the match, the Isle Champions‘ goalkeeper got sent off for a foul and Thomas replaced him.
“It seemed nothing special, but the highlight of the match was that the Hende actually got a penalty kick opportunity. Lucia, do you know what a penalty kick means?
“In a situation where the Isle Champions had no specialized goalkeeper, it meant giving the point to the opponent.
“At that point, the Isle Champions was already losing by one goal. If they lost this penalty, they were doomed.
“What surprised everyone was that Thomas actually saved the opponent’s penalty shot. Look at this fantastic save! He, an unprofessional goalkeeper, managed to save a penalty shot from a strong player of the Hende.
“See, the whole crowd erupted in cheers, including the Hende’s fans. They were all shouting and praising Thomas for that incredible save.
