“Didn’t you say Cecilia was always under your thumb? How come she seems like a completely different person now?! Octavia couldn’t help but ask Dominic. Today, she really had us dancing to er tune!”
“I don’t know what’s going on either,” Dominic looked confused. “I’m with Cecilin almost every day, and even when we’re not together, we talk on the phone. I didn’t notice any sudden change, but her behavior today was definitely odd.”
“I don’t think it’s Cecilia’s fault,” Nathaniel sald, “It must be that old fox Theodore,”
“Dad, you think Theodore made Cecilia
say those things on purpose
“We watched Cecilia grow up, and you’ve always been with her. People don’t change that fast,” Nathaniel concluded. “It must be Theodore, worried we won’t repay the loan, so he coached Cecilia. Theodore isn’t as straightforward as he seems. There are few honest people in business!”
“I never
er saw it coming. I always thought he was a nice guy,” Dominic said angrily. “But Dad, it doesn’t matter. Once I marry Cecilia, -not just the $300 million; the whole Lockhart Group, worth $16.5 billion, will be ours!”

“Don’t worry, I’ve got Cecilia wrapped around my finger, Dominic said confidently, his eyes gleaming with cunning.

After leaving Kingsley Mansion and getting into the car, Theodore excitedly said, “Cecilia, you really impressed me today. I hadn’t even figured out how to refuse the Kingsleys‘ request, but you got them to willingly write the IOU. Now, I don’t have to worry about losing that $300 million.”
Cecilia smiled faintly.
She wasn’t thinking about the $300 million; she was focused on the Kingsleys‘ 6.67% shares,

The car arrived at the Lockhart family villa.

“She got drunk,” Cecilia lied. After all, friends are meant to be sold out!
“Alright, be careful. Seraphina, really, such a good girl, why does she always like to go clubbing? You should advise her more; something happens, she’ll be the one to suffer.”

Cecilia obediently agreed.
Theodore and Genevieve, still worried, gave her several more reminders before leaving.
Cecilia had the driver take her directly away from the villa.
As she left, she dialed a number.
The voice on the other end sounded a bit hungover, “Ms. Lockhart?”
“I need to talk to you. Where are you?”
“Didn’t Ms. Lockhart go to Kingsley Mansion today? Suddenly thinking of me, should I feel flattered?”
“Are you jealous?” Cecilia asked bluntly.
The media had already exposed their visit to Kingsley Mansion.
Cecilia had seen it while playing on her phone at Kingsley Mansion but didn’t care because it wasn’t important.
However, it was clear that it could still cause misunderstandings.
Alaric sneered and said to someone nearby, “Come on, baby, scream something for Ms. Lockhart to hear.”

Cecilia really had to hold herself hack.
She could now face Dominic, whom she wanted to kill, with a calm demeanor. Yet, a few words from Alaric made her feel like a heavy stone was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe!
She took a deep breath and told the driver the destination.
During the entire ride, she kept adjusting her emotions.
The car pulled up to the Astralium Empire, the largest club in Serenovia city. From a distance, the neon lights at the grand entrance were dazzling, casting a glow that seemed to illuminate half the sky.
The doorman at the Astralium Empire quickly came forward to open the car door for Cecilia.
She got out, feeling a bit apprehensive.
She even had the impulse to call Seraphina to bail her out.
Gritting her teeth, she followed the doorman into the Astralium Empire.
This was her first time in such a place.
Seraphina had invited her to come before, but Cecilia always refused. Eventually, Seraphina stopped asking but would occasionally complain, warning Cecilia that if she remained so unchanging, men would eventually get bored,
She never took Seraphina’s words to heart before.
Now, thinking back, it was indeed quite ironic.
She had done her duty as Dominic’s wife, staying pure and loyal, yet Dominic said she was like a corpse, cold and stiff..
Cecilia paused, looking up at the grand door in front of her.
The doorman pressed the doorbell.
“Ms. Lockhart is here to visit Mr. Whitaker,” the doorman announced respectfully.
The next second, she heard the sound of the door unlocking
She had never been to the Astralium Empire before and didn’t know the rooms had security doors.
Of course, they were much more luxurious than regular security doors.
