Deserted Wife Strikes Back
Chapter 25 The Awkward Penelope
Cecilia approached them.
Fortunately, Dashiell chose to watch from the sidelines at this moment.
After all, during their school days, Penelope’s relentless pursuit had caused him a lot of trouble. Now, he probably wanted to avoid any trouble.
Cecilia looked at them, who had already been on the floor, then suddenly kicked fiercely.
“Ah!” Penelope screamed.
Cecilia also exclaimed, “Did I kick the wrong person?”
“Hurry up and pull that crazy Seraphina, away,” Penelope shouted.
“Okay.” Cecilia crouched down and went to push Seraphina.
In that moment of pushing Seraphina, she also inadvertently pushed Penelope, seemingly trying to separate the two
“Ah! You’ve pinched me!” Penelope yelled. “Ah! Cecilia, you’ve grabbed my hair… Ah! Ah! You’ve stepped on my leg… Ah! You’ve bumped into my nose.”
Initially, Seraphina thought Cecilia was helping Penelope, and she was a bit angry.
However, at this moment, she felt that Cecilia was even more active in the fight than she was.
Penelope seemed to sense that something was amiss. She desperately pushed Seraphina and Cecilia away, her face bruised and
bloodied.
Looking extremely disheveled, she probably had never been so embarrassed in her life. She yelled at Cecilia, “You deliberately hit
me.”
“I didn’t,” Cecilia said innocently.
“Stop lying to me. You’re just helping that bitch Seraphina to hit me. I’m telling you, I will inform Dominic. Let’s see how you explain yourself to him then.” Penelope arrogantly declared, assuming Cecilia would fear Dominic.
However, Cecilia remained indifferent. Surprisingly, she didn’t react at all to the threats.
“Cecilia, do you even understand what I’m saying? Believe me, I’ll make Dominic dump you. You are never gonna marry him,” Penelope said angrily.
“You better explain that clearly to him when you go back,” Cecilia replied coldly.
“You!” Penelope couldn’t intimidate Cecilia, and she was shaking with anger.
Realizing she couldn’t take on both of them alone, she gritted her teeth. “Cecilia, you’ll regret this.” With that, she left in a huff.
As she left, she glanced at Dashiell.
Throughout the fight, Dashiell never helped her, just coldly watching as she was beaten by them. She stomped and said, “Dashiell, Seraphina doesn’t even like you. She’s getting married to Sebastian. Do you think all these years of waiting and guarding deserve it? She’s deceiving you all the time.”

“Who’s deceiving? I never liked Dashiell back then; he is overthinking. Do you think everyone is like you, trifling with others‘ affections?” said Seraphina.
“Penelope, shut up! If you don’t leave, I swear I’ll beat you to death. Seraphina threatened, ready to fight again.
Penelope was still frightened. She issued a stern warning, “You’ll regret this.” She then left in a huff.
Because of the sudden disruption caused by Penelope, Seraphina was in a bad mood. However, thinking back to how badly Penelope had been beaten, she felt quite pleased.
She turned to Cecilia. “You used to forbid me from hitting Penelope. Now you’re the one hitting her.”
‘Those who had bullied me before should be damned and killed,‘ thought Cecilia. She suggested, “That’s enough, let’s go.”
The food there clearly didn’t suit Dashiell, and she had underestimated Seraphina’s stubbornness.
“I haven’t eaten much,” Seraphina grumbled.
Cecilia said, “Then eat by yourself; Dashiell and I will leave first.”
“It’s no fun eating alone. Wait for me.” Seraphina grumbled but followed along.
It was getting late, and Cecilia needed to prepare for tomorrow’s party. She got into her car, with a designated driver since she had been drinking.
“I’m heading back now. Dashiell, you haven’t eaten much; remember to eat something later. Come to my place early tomorrow.” Cecilia left after saying goodbye to them.
“Okay.” Dashiell nodded.
After they left, Seraphina seemed to realize something. “Damn, did they leave without me?”
Dashiell’s car, also driven by a designated driver, pulled up.
Before Dashiell got in, he heard Seraphina’s sarcastic voice. “You just got back, and your mom bought you a super luxury car?”
Dashiell replied, “I bought the car myself. I did some business abroad
Suddenly, a black car pulled up next to Seraphina, and a man in a black suit with glasses stepped out.
“Sebastian, what are you doing here?” Seraphina was visibly delighted.
“Just passing by on business and happened to see you,” Sebastian said gently.
“Perfect, I don’t have a car; can you give me a ride back?” Seraphina sweetly smiled.
Sebastian put his arm around her, and they got into the car together.
Then, they drove off, seemingly forgetting about the presence of Dashiell nearby.
Dashiell turned back silently without any emotions, got into the car, and left.
At that time, his phone suddenly rang. He answered, “Hi, Alaric.”
‘You’ve been back for so many days; let’s have dinner tonight.” Alarics deep voice came through.

“No need. I just had some drinks with Cecilia, feeling a bit dizzy. Pl, I ate something spicy and had an allergic reaction,” Dashiell explained.
“Cecilia? Alaric inquired.
“Yes, I haven’t seen her in many years; she seems to have changed a lot, even more beautiful,” Dashiell said somewhat deliberately.
Alaric chuckled lightly. “We’ll make plans for another time.” Then he hung up.
As Alaric ended the call, he looked at his phone screen, somewhat distracted. His slender fingers pressed a series of numbers, and then waited for her to answer.
Cecilia looked at her ringing phone, picked it up, and answered, “Hello, Alaric.”
“Are you satisfied with the birthday gift for your mom?” Alaric asked directly.
“Is it the gift you mentioned?” Cecilia immediately thought of his speech today.
“At least it didn’t disappoint your mom too much,” Alaric said. “I’m not that far behind Dominic.”
“You were never far behind,” Cecilia blurted out without even thinking.
If it weren’t for Alaric’s previously tarnished reputation, which somewhat affected the judges‘ impressions, there wouldn’t have been any fuss about Dominic becoming a Forbes celebrity, nor would there have been a once–in–a–century double champion.
“Thanks for the praise, honey. I’ll continue to work hard.” Alaric’s voice was clearly flirtatious.
Cecilia was at a loss for words. They hadn’t got married yet; how could he call her honey so naturally?
