Alice retained impassive “These gifts are worth tens of millions. As an apology, is that sincere enough? Caleb, you wouldn’t be that stingy. Avold you?”
Caleb choked. Were those even comparable?
In front of Chloe, he amisered “Am I that kind of person?”
“Then every guest is a witness. These gifts are the compensation”
Noah was annoyed “Alice, stop making fun “How could she give away such important gifts? Even if she was angry at Caleb, she shouldn’t give away gifts from all of them!
“Noah, do I look like I’m joking?”
Alice shoved the tray into Chloe’s hands. “They’re all yours now.”
Including her six brothers; she didn’t want any of them.
Chloe’s expression was awkward. Noah and Caleb seemed unhappy. Holding the tray, her palms felt hor. She hadn’t expected Alice to use these as an apology, it caught her off guard. If not handled correctly, it would anger the brothers. Alice had suddenly become difficult to deal with!
Without waiting for Chloe to speak, Alice turned and left.
“Alice, stop right there!”
Caleb was furious. Alice using his gift as an apology? What fucking kind of apology was that? But Alice didn’t look back.
Noah frowned. “Alice is becoming increasingly unruly!” He felt uncomfortable; the pendant he’d given her was bought after he’d earned his first million; it had special meaning.
Caleb felt stifled.“I think so too. She’s deliberately doing this to provoke us.”
Chloe listened to their conversation and gritted her teeth. Alice’s strategic retreat was working. She couldn’t let her succeed.
Holding the box, Chloe said weakly, “Noah, Caleb, was I wrong again? How could I accept Alice’s most treasured possessions? What should I do?” Damn Alice, digging her own grave!*
Caleb said sternly, “Since it’s her apology gift, keep it! I bet she’ll regret it in three days.” He was waiting to see Alice regret it, and then he would
taunt her.
Noah said gently, “Chloe, keep the box for Alice. She’ll calm down eventually.” Alice had thrown tantrums before, and it always passed. He didn’t believe she truly wanted to give away these gifts.
“Okay, I’ll take good care of them.”
Chloe offered a sweet and obedient smile.
Noah sighed. Alice used to be so obedient. He hoped she’d grow up soon. Looking at Chloe, he felt relieved. Thank goodness Chloe isn’t like
that.
Alice returned to her room and lay down. She was probably chilled from the near–drowning; her head spun. She closed her eyes. She had to figure out how to leave the Welch family and live independently!
After the college entrance exam in her past life, she could have gone to a top university, but because of Caleb’s words, she’d gone to Chloe’s less prestigious school. She’d been Chloe’s caretaker at school, taking the blame for her mistakes. If she disobeyed, her credit card would be frozen. Despite being a rich kid, she lived worse than a poor student. Finally, Chloe stole her hard–earned thesis, and she was falsely accused of plagiarism and expelled.
This time, she wouldn’t repeat the same mistakes. She would go to a prestigious university! As for tuition and living expenses, she could participate in Esports competitions and win prize money. With her skills from her past life, she could still make a living that way.
After the party, Noah came to her bedroom door on the second floor. He hesitated before knocking, but there was no answer. The door was locked.
“Noah, Chloe seems to have a fever. Come!.”
