Chapter 57
Aersa
Chloe listened repeatedly to “Sweet Lemon“s voice. She was almost certain it was Alice! But the livestream only showed hands and keyboard; you couldn’t see the streamer’s face! Chloe panicked. Hadn’t Luke recognized
Alice’s voice?
“Chloe, what are you doing out here? Aren’t you hot?” Luke emerged from his office after dinner, finding Chloe in the hallway.
Chloe’s expression was complex. “Luke, I was watching ‘Sweet Lemon’s video. Did you watch it?” The streamer spoke at the very end.
Luke shook his head. “No, but I know this person. She’ll qualify tomorrow. I have to get her.”
“Luke, did you investigate? Her real name, appearance?”
“No. She wouldn’t agree to my offer. I thought she had other reasons. Now it looks like she’s livestreaming on Shrimp Live to boost her price.” He figured he could sign her with enough money.
Seeing Luke’s confidence, Chloe doubted herself. If “Sweet Lemon” was Alice, Alice wouldn’t have let her bully her. It was probably just a similar voice. There are look–alikes in the world.
Chloe relaxed. It couldn’t be Alice.
Alice woke up late the next day, seeing a message from Noah:
[Alice, what part–time job do you have? Is it hard? Come work for me. It won’t be tiring.]
She didn’t reply; she was busy preparing for the livestream.
She went to Jack’s room. He was on the balcony, speaking rapidly in English.
Garrett was lounging on the sofa.“Alice, up? Your livestream is trending! Tonight will be huge. Nervous?”
“A little, but I won’t lose.” Alice was confident. Her gaze drifted towards the balcony. Jack leaned on the railing, his silhouette tall and imposing.
Jack sensed something and turned to meet her gaze. His eyes were dark. He finished his call.
Alice quickly looked away, noticing his return.
Jack said, “I have to go out. I might not be back tonight.”
Alice said instinctively, “Isn’t school over?”
Garrett coughed. “I need Jack’s help with some business matters.” Alice knew Garrett was rich, so she didn’t pry.
At lunch, Alice received a call from Shrimp Live. “Hello, I’m from Shrimp Entertainment. Are you ‘Sweet
Lemon‘?”
“Yes.”
“We’re very impressed. We want to discuss a contract. Can we exchange WhatsApp IDs? I’ll send you the contract and details.”
Alice hung up, looking at Jack. “Shrimp Entertainment contacted me.”
Garrett said, “Don’t agree yet! Negotiate after tonight’s livestream. Don’t let those capitalists take advantage!” The capitalist boss was right there! He felt heroic, fighting for Alice’s interests!
Jack ignored Garrett, looking at Alice.“We’ll discuss the deal when I get back.”

“Okay” Alice wasn’t in a rush.
After Jack and Garrett left, she examined the contract. The terms were good, but she had to livestream for several hours daily and participate in platform events.
She needed money but didn’t want to be a streamer. She wanted to join the national team, compete professionally!
She logged into the game to upgrade her equipment; yesterday’s battles had taken their toll. She had hundreds of friend requests! Some from team leaders, some from fans. She didn’t accept them and turned off friend requests. A message arrived [Sweet Lemon, we saw your livestream. You’re amazing! But signing with Shrimp Entertainment is a bad deal. Green Fruit Live is backed by Tangbei Entertainment; you can be a streamer and enter the entertainment industry!] Luke’s message was incredibly sincere. Chloe had gone into entertainment with her fourth brother’s support.
Alice replied coldly:[No thanks.]
She adjusted her equipment, ignoring Luke’s further messages. Ten players had qualified yesterday. Tonight, she would battle those ten. The winner would make the top 100 and continue battling.
She saw familiar names, mostly from those guilds, but not “If Time Could Turn Back.” Last time, she’d met that player during this event. He’d helped her reach the top ten. She suspected it was Jack; his game name was the same. But the timing was off. Had her rebirth changed things, preventing her from meeting him?
She felt a pang of disappointment.
That night, Alice started her livestream, seeing thousands of viewers.
[She’s cheating! She’ll get caught tonight!]
[So jealous! Some guys are trash, and they attack female players!]
[If she’s not cheating, why doesn’t she show her face? She’s afraid of being exposed as a proxy player!]
As Alice prepared to respond, someone sent three rockets. The top fan was [Landing Team]. Luke.
Luke wrote: [Sweet Lemon has skills. Let’s be honest, I want to sign her!]
The chat went wild. Luke was a well–known streamer with a verified account.
Alice smirked, calmly saying, “Let the battles begin!”
Hearing that familiar voice, Luke nearly fell out of his chair! That voice… was Alice’s?
