Chapter 26

Manager Monroe dared not continue his thoughts. The person in question was someone he had brought here, and moreover, the little miracle doctor was the savior of the Cromwell family. He could not watch her bring about her own downfall!
“The little miracle doctor might not be very good at Chinese, and her choice of words might be a bit lacking, hehe… hehe…” Manager Monroe raised his head to look at Carl, his eyes pleading for mercy. “You wouldn’t mind, would you?”
Carl, a man of few words, gave a faint, indifferent “Mm.”
Amelia raised an eyebrow, confused. “Manager Monroe seems so nervous. Did I describe something wrong?”
“No problem,” Carl suddenly smiled, a chilling, seductive smile that made it hard to know if it was a blessing or a curse. “Your description is quite accurate.”
Amelia’s clear eyes shone with understanding. “It’s always the good–looking ones who know how to speak.”
With that, she turned her head to look at the doctors who had returned to their positions.
Just a moment ago, everyone had been distracted, either grabbing books or checking their phones, oblivious to the intense atmosphere in the room.
Then, the little miracle doctor asked them, “Is everyone here?”

“Yes!” The doctors responded in perfect unison, as if they were back in their internship days.
Amelia suddenly raised her right hand and unbuttoned the first button of Carl’s shirt.
Carl furrowed his brow, the corner of his eye lifting slightly, as if silently asking, “You never mentioned you would be
undressing me.”
Amelia’s smile was low and soft. Since her right hand was still holding his shirt, her breath was so close it seemed to brush against his Adam’s apple.
“Today, I’ll teach you a point that can help stop coughing.”
As she spoke, Amelia’s fingers lightly traced his neck, her gaze professional and cold, giving no indication of her thoughts toward him.
“When needling, we enter within one inch, using a method with no Yin,” she explained, her fingers subtly moving across
his skin.
“Under the mouth, one at a time.”
“The effectiveness of acupuncture relies on the combination of needle techniques and the chosen acupoints.”
Her cool fingertips slid slowly down his neck, tracing towards his ear.
“For example, here is an acupoint that helps regulate heat distribution.”
“Today’s patient has lung issues, with internal damp–heat.”

“In ‘The Great Compilation of Acupuncture, there’s a needling technique called ‘heavenly ST‘…”
As Amelia’s explanation grew more profound, the doctors‘ attention sharpened. None of them noticed the subtle change in Carl’s eyes. As the one most attuned to his body’s sensations, he could feel every movement of her fingers, every inch, every small shift.
What caught his attention was that she didn’t cause him to break out in a rash, suggesting that perhaps there were people whose bodies were free of bacteria.
Carl’s gaze lingered on the young woman’s beautiful face. Her long hair would always sweep over his hand as she leaned in. Her eyes never held him in them; only his acupoints seemed to exist in her focus. Her voice fluctuated, with the emphasis on her words matching the force of her fingers‘ movements.
The doctors were so captivated that even Director Luke stopped thinking about Carl’s identity. He nodded along in approval, his gaze growing increasingly satisfied with Amelia.
This really was a talented prospect. If only she could come to their hospital…
Yes! He could invite the little miracle doctor to their hospital!
Director Luke suddenly had a eureka moment.
As the doctors continued to ask questions, even as Amelia was about to finish with the needles, some were reluctant to let it end.
“Is that it?”

Someone murmured, while Carl, for the first time, felt a bit unsettled. After her cool fingers left his skin, his throat seemed to itch even more…
