Chapter 2
During Eldric’s second year of targeting me, he suddenly changed his approach.
He asked to be partnered with me for a class project that required us to work closely together.
Also, he had serious trouble in certain subjects and threatened me to tutor him.
“My dad said if I improve ten places in class rankings by finals, he’ll buy me a car. Help me raise my grades, and I’ll treat you and your mom better.”
I agreed without much thought, looking directly into his eyes for the first time.
“Well… you have to study hard. I’ll keep you accountable.”
Eldric had the looks that attracted endless attention. When he smiled, the corners of his eyes curved
pleasantly.
“Got it, little sister.”
I quickly averted my gaze.
Days passed quietly.
Classes, breaks, going home together.
Eldric and I gradually became familiar with each other.
Sometimes after school, he wanted to play basketball, but I wouldn’t allow it.
Then he’d soften his voice to persuade me.
“Sweet sister, considering my consistently good study attitude lately, can’t you give me just one day off?”
My face would secretly flush, unable to form any words of refusal.
Once, I got my period and stained my pants. Without hesitation, Eldric took off his jacket and tied it around my waist.
He went to the convenience store to buy pads and hot milk for me.
The young boy’s ears turned completely red as he complained to me. “Kaelan saw me at checkout, and his laughter nearly blew the roof off.”

1 sacrificed my dignity to buy this for you, so you’d better drink it all.”
Kaélan was his nemesis, another rich kid who didn’t take studying seriously–his grades were even wors Cham Eldric’s
That afternoon, Eldric went to play basketball, and Kaelan cornered me in the classroom.
He grabbed my chin, asking lazily. “Hey, smarty–pants, why don’t you tutor me too?”
I shook my head 1-1 need to go home. My brother is waiting for me.”
Please Everyone knows you two aren’t blood–related. If anything, you’re more like Eldric’s little wife
Before he could finish, someone pushed open the door and forcefully threw a basketball.
Desc’s face was cold enough to freeze water,
Kasten barely dodged the ball and sneered, “What are you playing at? I saw you step on her dress at the wedding, bad year clear as day, isn’t it a bit late to act like the protective brother now?”
“Bone of your damn business, Eldric pulled me into his arms, his tone warning:
“Only 1 get to mess with her. No one else,”
Al Kadian Well, Erie laughed at my stunned expression.
He suddenly waned down, his eyes growing intensely dark “Has weyone ever told you that your lips look very kissable?”
