He smirked coldly. “They resented me for taking their project and wanted revenge. I just helped them
along.”
“Enough about them. My sweetie, do you know how much I’ve missed you?”
Kaelan leaned in closer.
“I… I missed you too.”
Kaelan paused, studying me with amusement. “Honey, you’re not being good.”
My heart tightened. “What’s wrong?”
He removed the brooch pinned to my jacket, extracting the hidden micro–camera inside.
“Planning to record this and accuse me of rape?”
Kaelan’s lips curved upward, but his eyes remained icy.
“What should I do? I can’t let others see my wife without any dress.”
“Fuck you,” I hissed through gritted teeth.
Kaelan tilted my chin up, smiling coldly. “There are more fucking things to come.”
Back home, our reunion was intense after a week apart.
The next day, through Kaelan’s deliberate maneuvering, news of our marriage spread throughout the city.
“I spoke foolishly before,” he held my hand and slapped his own mouth.
“There’s no couple more perfectly matched than Seraphina Season and Kaelan Winters.”
“I’ll give you a magnificent wedding, Seraphina. Let’s build a good life together.”
I neither agreed nor disagreed.
Nor did I reject the slightly painful kisses he placed on my collarbone.
My mother called after seeing the news, congratulating me enthusiastically.
“Well done, my dear daughter! You’ve married even better than your mother did.”
“From now on, use the Winters family’s resources to secure some partnerships for Harrison Enterprises. Help your stepfather and brother too.”

A few days later, Eldric and Olivia were wanted by police for forging confidential documents and stealing
trade secrets.
The authorities froze all of Eldric’s accounts and took him in for investigation, while Olivia fled.
