Seraphina raised her trembling head. For a moment, her eyes met his, her breath caught in her throat, her eyes welled up with mixed emotions, and her throat felt sore, rendering her voiceless.
She had imagined the reunion with Kaelan Winters, but she never expected it to happen so quickly. After four years of not seeing him, he had become even more handsome and mature, while she was a complete mess. No one would think that they were once husband and wife.
As the person with whom she collided was none other than her own ex husband, Kaelan Winters, who was once more important than her life for her, but now situations were completely different
Because of which Seraphina wanted nothing more than to disappear immediately, but her pride and
deep–seated resentment prevented her from asking Kaelan Winters for help.
However, the man chasing after her wouldn’t give up, and she had missed her chance to call for help. If he caught her, the consequences would be disastrous.
“Seraphina Season?”
Just as Seraphina was torn between conflicting emotions and struggling internally, she suddenly heard someone call her name. When she looked up, she realized that Kaelan Winters wasn’t alone. Standing beside him was Oliver Kensington, the scion of the Kensington family and business empire.
“It’s really you! Seraphina, what are you doing here?”
Seraphina lowered her head and looked at the cleaning uniform she wore, doing her best to hide her helplessness and embarrassment.
Who would have thought that the once proud daughter of the Season family, the daughter in law of the Winters family, would be reduced to a lowly cleaner?
At that moment, the man behind her unleashed a volley of vulgar insults, and it snapped her back to reality. Suppressing her futile pride and self–respect, she forcefully grabbed the corner of Oliver Kensington’s clothes.
“Mr. Kensington, please save me…”
Oliver Kensington was momentarily taken aback, then looked around and quickly understood the
situation.
“You despicable girl…” The man, his face covered in blood, stopped his tirade when he noticed Kaelan Winters and Oliver Kensington.

He stood there in surprise. “Mr. Winters, Mr. Kensington.*
“If you know who we are, you better hurry up!“, Oliver uttered his warning before the man could spit anything else
*Til leave, I’ll leave right now.“, No sooner than Oliver completed his sentence, the man took the same direction from where he came running after Seraphina.
Oliver Kensington resolved the situation with a single sentence, soon after which Seraphina breathed a sigh of relief and bowed to him gratefully.
“Thank you.”
Oliver Kensington lightly chuckled. “It’s been a few years, and you’ve changed.”
Seraphina laughed at herself, a bitter smile on her face. Without saying anything more, she lowered her
head and left
She hid in the locker room, unable to calm herself for a long time. Ten minutes later, Seraphina walked out of the dressing room, her expression calm as if nothing had happened before.
Only for her to come across two bodyguards who stood at the door, blocking her way.
Miss Season, Mr. Winters is waiting. Please come with us.“, One of them uttered with expressionless face
Seraphina heart raced, and she became nervous. “Which Mr. Winters?”
You know exactly who we’re talking about, Miss Season. The bodyguard’s voice was chilly.
“Mr. Winters doesn’t like to be kept waiting. So Please.“, The other bodyguard continued further
Seraphina knew she couldn’t escape, so she clenched her fists helplessly. Led by the bodyguard through the winding, dimly lit corridor, Seraphina arrived at the door of the VIP private room on the top floor. Before she could prepare herself, the door swung open
“Mr. Winters, someone brought me here.”
With a thud, the door closed behind Seraphina. She raised her head and quickly glanced around. The private room was spacious and luxurious. The cool soft lighting in shades of blue and purple exuded an elegant ambiance.
Kaelan sat lazily and arrogantly in the middle of the black leather sofa, his legs crossed.
Wearing a dark shirt and trousers, his exquisite diamond shaped cufflinks emitted an air of opulence and refinement

A silver lighter flicked open in his hand, and the dazzling blue flame instantly illuminated his slender fingers and his sharp, cold profile.
Seraphina quickly averted her gaze and cautiously stood at the door, not saying a word.
Kaelan took a drag of his cigarette, his eyes fixed on her. There was no trace of unnecessary expression on his face. After a while, his narrowed black eyes showed his dissatisfaction. “Are you mute?, Don’t you know how to say hello?”
Seraphina felt a surge of displeasure upon hearing his words. She felt that Kaelan was mocking her lack of education. She gritted her teeth and loosened her tightly clenched lips. “Mr. Winters, long time no see.”
Kaelan continued to frown, visibly displeased. “Do you enjoy standing at the door and talking?, Or should I come over and invite you?”
“I wouldn’t dare. I cannot afford such an honor.” Seraphina took the initiative to take a few steps forward, lowering her posture.
Kaelan Winters, now a guest at Malena’s Meadow, was not to be offended.
“What do you want, Mr. Winters?“, She asked as per the demand of her job.
Kaelan exhaled a ring of smoke and glanced at her disdainfully. With that, he took out a cheque and signed it by entering a staggering amount before presenting it to Seraphina.
“This money should be enough to sustain you for the rest of your life“, Kaelan coldly told Seraphina while keeping the cheque on the wooden desk kept before him.
Seraphina stood there, stunned for a moment. She looked at him in disbelief, her body trembling ever so slightly. Four years ago, Kaelan had forced her into prison. Now, four years later, he wanted to drive her out of New York City.
Hate welled up in her heart. When she got divorce from Kaelan, so how could she possibly want his money now?
Seraphina thought unwillingly and stubbornly.
Kaelan snuffed out the cigarette butt, then stood up and approached Seraphina Season, casting a shadow
over her.
“I know exactly what you’re trying to do here. If you dare to harm my daughter, don’t think you’ll get away with it.”
“Seraphinaana is also my daughter,” Seraphina tried her best to suppress the grievance and anger in her heart. Although she despised Kaelan, she didn’t dare to provoke him easily until she obtained custody of Seraphinaana.

“Even if we’re divorced, you can’t deprive me of my right to be with my daughter.”
During the four years in prison, Seraphina had endured numerous hardships. Seraphinaana was the source of courage and belief that sustained her through life. Now that she had finally been released and had the opportunity to see Seraphinaana, so she refused to leave.
