NEXT DAY
In addition to being unable to live in the dormitory, Seraphina’s job also changed from a cleaner to a greeter. She stood at the door and bowed until her back was aching. No one was changing shifts with her, and she had no rest days.
As night fell, Malena’s Meadow began to become lively. Many rich kids with their chicks came here to have fun.
“Hello, welcome,” Seraphina mechanically bowed in greeting, her head lowered and her face expressionless.
No one cared about her. In the eyes of the guests, she was a lowly ant.
After a while, a drunk guest walked out of the elevator, supported by beautiful women on the left and right, followed by the driver. When they were about to reach the door, Seraphina bowed, “Welcome next time.”
It was an ordinary sentence, but the drunk man stopped to look at Seraphina. “This girl has a good voice. It’s a pity to be a greeter.” Then, he immediately grabbed Seraphina and laughed, “You might as well hang out with me. I promise you to buy anything you want!”
Seraphina endured her nausea and quickly broke free and retreated. Her actions angered the drunk.
“Fuck, why are you hiding? I’m talking to you to flatter you.”
Before Seraphina could speak, the manager suddenly walked over and said to the drunk man with a
smile, “Mr.Richardson, what’s wrong? Didn’t you have a good time?”
“What kind of lousy waitress did you hire? Standing at the door with a stinky face.”
The manager glared at Seraphina, “Seraphina, get over here and apologize to Mr Richardson.”
She was under the eaves and had to bow her head. Seraphina closed her eyes and walked over to bow deeply to the drunk man, “I’m sorry, Mr Richardson.”
The drunk man was dissatisfied. “It’s useless to apologize. Kneel down for me.”
Seraphina gritted her back teeth, and a coldness flashed across her eyes.
When the manager saw that she was not moving, he immediately called for the two bodyguards. The bodyguards bent Seraphina’s knee, and with a thud, she was forced to kneel on the ground.

“Mr. Richardson, should you be satisfied now?” The manager laughed.
The drunk man nodded and replied, “Let her kneel until tomorrow morning.

The manager was worried about how he could force Seraphina away. And now chance came to his door.

As it approached the early hours of the morning, more and more people came and went. As they passed by, they pointed at Seraphina and sarcastically said some unpleasant things.
Seraphina didn’t care at all, she lowered her head and closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down, refusing to feel everything from the outside world.
The manager snorted and turned to leave. As soon as he entered the office, his phone suddenly rang. When he saw the number, he did not dare to delay for a second and immediately picked up the phone.
“Mr Winters,” he said flatteringly.
Kaelan asked coldly, “What’s going on with Seraphina today?”
“She greeted guests in the lobby on the first floor. She stood there for a whole day. Now she’s kneeling at the door. I’ll wake her up tomorrow morning.”
The manager thought that such an arrangement would satisfy Kaelan, but the result was the opposite.
“Who the fuck told you to punish her without asking me“, Kaelan’s voiced raised almost piercing through the phone and entering manager’s ears.
“Mr Winters, you don’t like this arrangement?“, Manager answered with trembling voice.
“It’s okay to let her work, but I didn’t let you punish her.” The low and cold voice of Kaelan contained a stern warning.
Manager immediately apologized after he know what Kaelan’s mean, “I’m extremely sorry, Mr. Winters, I’ll get her up right now.”
Kaelan did not utter a word; he simply terminated the call.
The hall was not heated, and the door was deliberately left open. Seraphina was wearing thin overalls and knelt at the door. In addition, she had not eaten much for a whole day, and her physical strength was severely exhausted. The dizziness became more and more obvious.
It didn’t take long for her to faint with a sudden “Boom,” her forehead slamming onto the cold marble
floor.

This was exactly what the manager saw when he arrived.
“Someone, bring Seraphina to the resting room“, He shouted as soon as he saw Seraphina in her current condition lying lifeless on the marble floor

As the nurse injected Seraphina with an infusion, the manager walked out of the lounge with a gloomy face, followed by his trusted assistant with thoughts running in his mind.
“What does Mr Winters meant?” The more the manager thought about it, the more confused he became
about which he also discussed with his assistant.
“What he said earlier was that he would do everything possible action to force Seraphina away. But just now, when he heard me talking about punishing her for kneeling, Winters was obviously angry and warned me that he would not punish Seraphina in the future.”
The assistant thought about it in his heart and said, “Manager, to tell you the truth, I always thought this
matter was weird.”
“What do you mean by weird?” the manager questioned out of curiosity.
The assistant leaned over and whispered, “Seraphina is just an insignificant cleaner. With someone as influential as Mr. Winters, why is it so hard to get along with her?, To put it correctly, Mr. Winters’s actions are a bit extravagant and unreasonable.”
The manager’s expression was complicated at the words of his assistant and thus he uttered further,“I think Seraphina must have offended Mr. Winters.”
Responding to which his assistant did not deny the conclusion of manager and yet added further,
“With Mr.Winters’s temperament and methods, anyone who offended him used to be directly pulled out to deal with. How can we force Seraphina while not allowing corporal punishment? To put it bluntly, it means not to let her get hurt. This means too much. Obviously, Mr. Winters is reluctant to let Seraphina
suffer.”
The manager heard something meaningful, and his eyes changed. “You mean that Mr. Winters and Seraphina have probably known each other for a long time.”
“Yes, and their relationship may not be simple.”
The manager was silent for a few seconds, feeling that the matter was getting more and more difficult.
“It’s not difficult,” the assistant said confidently and shrewdly, “Give Seraphina some money and then fire
her.”

The manager frowned and shook his head, not optimistic about this method.
“If Seraphina is willing to leave voluntarily, does Mr. Winters still need us to force her?”

The words of his assistant made the manager realize that he was instantly enlightened.
“Yes, why didn’t I think of this? What Mr. Winters wants is the result. In two days, I’ll fire Seraphina and
let her leave Malena’s Meadow.”
As their conversation carried further on the other hand in the lounge, Seraphina struggled to open her eyes. Her eyes hurt from the incandescent light. She subconsciously raised her hand to cover the light, and it took a while before she realized where she was.
It turned out that she had fainted again.
Seraphina sat up and touched her aching knee, then laughed miserably.
At this moment, a waiter pushed open the door and walked in to speak for the manager.
“Seraphina, the manager allows you to go back to the staff dormitory to rest tonight. From tomorrow onwards, you don’t have to greet the guests. Continue to clean up later.”
“Understood.” Seraphina’s voice was weak and feeble, her complexion was very poor, and there was no
blood on her face.
Compared to showing her face in front of the guests and welcoming them, she actually preferred to be a cleaner, hiding in the back without worrying about being recognized by her acquaintances.
