Chapter 21
Seraphina was so tired that she fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow. She slept until noon
the next day.
“Seraphina, you’re late!” The supervisor severely criticized her.
Seraphina looked at the clock on the wall. “I’m sorry, Director. I didn’t come earlier today, but it’s not late. I’ll pay attention next time.”
“Next time? Do you think there will be a next time? Who do you think you are?” The supervisor turned a blind eye to the employees who were really late, but he specifically targeted Seraphina and held onto her.
“I warn you, Malena’s Meadow doesn’t tolerate idlers, and being late is a big taboo. No matter what you did in the past, now that the manager has assigned you to me, you have to listen to me. Forget about your grievances.”
Seraphina gritted her teeth and clenched her hand into a fist. However, in order to survive, she had to do her best to suppress her anger.
“The clock on the wall isn’t accurate. You were three minutes late today, and as punishment, you will clean three more floors. Clean the seventh, eighth, and ninth floors today. Don’t be lazy. I’ll come to check at any time.“, The supervisor ordered Seraphina with arrogant tone.
Seraphina closed her eyes and endured the humiliation as she replied, “Understood.”
AFTER A WHILE
Seraphina had just finished cleaning a private room on the 8th floor, when the supervisor immediately assigned her to clean room 808.
She took her cleaning tools and pushed open the door of Private Room 808, expecting it to be empty. However, to her surprise, the room was full of people when she entered.
“I’m sorry, I’ll go out first,” Seraphina apologized.
“Hold on.” A woman with delicate makeup stood up from the sofa and ordered in a sharp voice.
Seraphina’s grip on the doorknob tightened. The voice behind her was very familiar.
“Seraphina, can’t you even recognize my voice?” In a flash, Seraphina finally remembered. She turned around and blurted out, “Emily Williams?”
Sure enough, it was her! Emily looked arrogant as she walked over on her high heels, looking at

Seraphina with contempt.
“Tsk, it’s really you. I thought it was just a coincidence that we share the same name,” Emily sneered.
Seraphina pursed her lips and lowered her head in inferiority. Compared to the glamorous Emily Williams, she felt like an ugly duckling.
At that moment, someone in the room asked curiously, “Emily, who is she?”
This was what Emily had been waiting for.
“She…” Emily deliberately lengthened her tone and smiled gleefully. “Her name is Seraphina. Don’t you all remember the former Miss Season from the Season family?”
“Damn, it’s actually her.”
The room instantly exploded with voices.
“You shameless mistress! If it wasn’t for her interference back then, how could Emily have broken up
with Mr. Winters?”
“It’s no wonder the Season family went bankrupt. This is retribution.”
“Didn’t she go to jail? Why was she released so quickly? Such a vicious woman should be sentenced to life and die of old age inside.”
All sorts of slanderous voices poured into Seraphina’s ears. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists.
These people were Malena’s Meadow guests, so she couldn’t offend any of them.
“I don’t need to clean here. I’ll go out first,” Seraphina said, trying to leave the room.
But Emily reached out to stop her. “Who said you don’t need to clean? Can’t you see all those empty wine
bottles on the table?”
Seraphina raised her head and glanced at the table. It was filled with various wine bottles stacked on top
of each other.
It seemed there was no way to escape this situation.
She had nothing to say as she walked over, ignoring the sarcastic gazes and abuses around her, and neatly started clearing away all the empty wine bottles.
“I’ve cleaned up. Can I go now?”
But Emily blocked the door, playing with her newly done manicure, with an air of superiority and a

sneer.
“Why are you in such a hurry? I won’t eat you. By the way, since we’re acquainted from the past, and everyone here knows you, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few drinks with us, right?”
“I don’t know how to drink,” Seraphina frowned, instinctively rejecting the idea.
“You can learn if you don’t know how,” Emily insisted.
“You…”
“Why, do you think you’re still the daughter of the Season family? With your low status, it’s a privilege for you to accompany us.”
Seraphina held her breath and retorted angrily, “I’m allergic to alcohol, so I can’t drink.”
But Emily dismissed her concern, her eyes cunning and sinister. She leaned in and lowered her voice, saying, “Seraphina, do you want to see your daughter? That girl is already in kindergarten. As long as you obediently drink, I’ll tell you where she is. How about that?”
Seraphina’s blood boiled with excitement, without any hesitation. “I’ll drink!”
For the past four years, she had missed her daughter every minute and every second. As long as she could see Seraphinaana, she would do anything.
Emily smirked in satisfaction. “That’s right.”
With that, she turned her head and gave a wink to the group of friends behind her. The table was immediately filled with wine bottles–red wine, white wine, and beers.
“For the sake of your alcohol allergy, you don’t have to drink all the wine. Just have one glass from each
bottle.”
After Emily finished speaking, she did not forget to pat Seraphina’s face and laugh ruthlessly. “I’ve been mean to you enough. Don’t you have to say thank you to me, huh?”
Seraphina was filled with shame and anger. She wanted to slap her, but she couldn’t.
This kind of humiliation made her feel worse than death, but in order to see Seraphinaana, she had to endure no matter how much she suffered.
“Thank you, Miss Emily Williams, for your understanding,” Seraphina replied with a heavy heart.
Responding to which Emily laughed heartily and pushed Seraphina toward the table.
“Pour her a drink.”

Chapter 21
After two glasses of wine, a red rash appeared on Seraphina’s arm. She also felt chest tightness and nausea. She squatted on the ground for a long time, unable to get up.
“Emily, she only had two shots. What harm could it do?”
“It doesn’t matter if she can handle it or not. Pry her mouth open and pour it in,” Emily ordered.
Following Emily’s command, Seraphina was immediately surrounded by men and women.
They held her shoulders and forced her to kneel on the ground. They laughed and poured wine into her mouth. Later, they thought that it was not enough to fill the cup with it, and directly stuffed the wine bottle into her mouth.
While Emily lit a lady’s cigarette and lazily leaned on the sofa. When she saw Seraphina’s pained
expression, the corner of her mouth curved up, feeling very satisfied.
Just as she was reveling in her triumph, she suddenly heard a loud “thud” sound. The crowd of people who had been teasing Seraphina began to disperse, and the room fell silent for a moment.
“What’s happening?“, Emily frowned and stood up, showing no signs of panic.
“Seraphina fainted. Her head hit the corner of the table, and she’s bleeding heavily,” someone reported.
The others looked at each other in disbelief.
“Emily, what should we do? Seraphina won’t die, will she?“, Someone asked in the room.
But Emily remained unfazed and rather she leaned over and checked Seraphina’s breath.
She secretly hoped that Seraphina would just die like this, saving her the trouble.
But this woman’s life was as resilient as a rock, and the thought of it made her furious.
