Chapter 143
Alice let out a cold laugh.
Chloe recoiled, shocked to see Noah.
What should she do?
He’d heard everything.
Chloe swallowed and said, “Noah, I was trying to help Alice. She’s made too many enemies, and I was worried about her future here. I didn’t mean anything else.”
Noah didn’t believe her.
Noah had heard the sarcasm in her voice.
He looked at Chloe suspiciously, wondering if she’d always been two–faced, driving a wedge between Alice and her family.
He turned to Alice, saying, “Alice, if you need anything, call me. I’m moving the company to Washington. I’ll always be
here.”
Alice was annoyed.“I only have one request. Stay away from me!”
Why did the Welch family keep annoying her? She went downstairs.
So annoying!
She didn’t need Noah’s help.
After Alice left, Noah looked meaningfully at Chloe, saying, “Alice got into such a mess, but why didn’t you tell us?”
Besides, Chloe had given those spiteful comments just then.
“I was going to tell you, but Alice told me not to interfere. I planned to check on things before telling you.”
Chloe was nervous, avoiding Noah’s gaze.
Noah was disappointed.“Chloe, have you ever lied to us before?”
“Noah, I’ve never lied! I swear!”
Tears welled in Chloe’s eyes, making her look wronged.
Before, Noah would have softened, but not then.
He didn’t feel sorry at all.
He suspected he’d been deceived and Chloe seemed not to be as simple as he saw.
Once trust broke, doubt would grow.
His tone was cold.“Remember this. Alice is my sister, and always a part of the Welch family. Take what we give you, but don’t covet what’s not yours.”
Chloe was devastated.
All her years of effort were meaningless?
But she held back her tears, whispering, “Noah, I’m not your blood relative. I wouldn’t dare compete with Alice.”
“I hope so.”
Noah left after warning Chloe.

Chloe stood alone, her expression turning cold
She’d always known she wasn’t blood–related to them.
Therefore, she had to fight for a happy life.
She wouldn’t let Alice return to the Welch family and take everything from her.
Alice returned to class and attended two classes.
Many students watched her secretly.
Lisa sneered and said, “Alice, you’re hack so soon. Got punished?”
Alice had raised public anger then, and would be punished for sure.
Alice said with a faint smile,“Disappointed you.”
Lisa felt a bad premonition.“You’re just pretending. You must have been punished!”
The advisor entered.
Lisa raised her voice, saying, “Sir, is Alice’s punishment decided? She caused so much trouble and she deserves it!”
“Our phones are locked! It’s so inconvenient!”
Many joined her complaint.
Lisa felt more confident with so many supporters.
The advisor looked around the room, saying, “The school has reached a decision regarding the forum.”
“Tell us! We’re waiting!”
“The rumors about Alice being a mistress were false. The student who posted it will be punished.”
Lisa was unsatisfied.“Impossible! Alice, an orphan, with brand clothes? There must be something wrong!”
“Alice’s parents are dead, but she has a brother. We’ve verified this. Lisa, do you disagree with the school’s decision?”
Lisa fell silent, saying, “I just feel surprised. But what about our phones?”
“Since the post was false, you should apologize to Alice!” the advisor said.
Everyone started to discuss then.
The advisor looked at Alice, surprised she was a hidden heiress who pretended to be an orphan, and incredibly skilled.
He’d been wrong about her.
Then he left, feeling kind of embarrassed.
Later, the school released a statement about the incident.
Lisa was furious. Why should Alice get away with it?
Alice was relieved and felt better to see justice prevail.
After lunch, Alice went back to her dorm to brush her teeth.
She then lay on her bed and searched for updates on Max’s bullying case. The news was gone, and even the search term was blocked.
The Garcia family had worked hard to control the news.
But the victim’s family was still appealing online, claiming the photos and videos were fake and inadmissible as

evidence.
Alice hacked into Max’s phone and posted the same content as before, using several overseas virtual accounts.
The trash wants to sue me!““The truth shouldn’t be hidden.”
“Max should be jailed for bullying her classmate to death!”
Max’s bullying case was trending again.
Alice had anticipated attempts to trace her address and had taken precautions.
They couldn’t find her.
If the Garcia family wanted to delete the videos and photos, she would ensure they couldn’t by posting them online.
Thinking about Max and Chloe, Alice still needed to deal with Chloe.
Alice couldn’t recover the deleted video herself, but she had to get that evidence.
Noah texted her then, “Alice, are you looking for the bar’s surveillance footage?”
Did he have a clue?
Alice started thinking about it.
