Chapter 162
Alice’s expression remained cold. “Let’s be clear. You colluded with David to harm me; you’re the culprit! You’re the one who’s going down, not me!”
“This is your fault, Alice! Why didn’t you help me in the first place?” Lisa wailed.
“Why should I help you? Besides, David’s been caught. Those videos and pictures will all be deleted. They never got out. You’re just stupid. Whose fault is that?”
Lisa crumbled. She realized she’d made a mistake. She shouldn’t have tried to shift the blame onto Alice. Otherwise, Alice wouldn’t have revealed the truth.
The professor turned to Lisa.“How do you explain this?”
Lisa trembled, terrified. “It wasn’t me! I didn’t do anything!”
“But last night, many students heard your conversation with David. You planned this with him!”
“Lisa, come with us. We need to investigate this thoroughly. Otherwise, you’ll be going to the police station!”
Lisa cried hysterically, refusing to move from her bed.
The professors exchanged glances, speechless at Lisa’s behavior, but they didn’t dare to force her.
Alice sneered.“It’ll be the same when the police take statements. Lisa and David are accomplices. I’ll pursue this to the end and make sure they face legal consequences!”
Upon hearing this, Lisa broke down completely.“I’m a victim too! Why punish me?”
A professor tried to calm her.“Lisa, if you’re a victim, tell us the truth. We can help you with the police. Otherwise, your parents will have to bail you out.”
“My parents can’t know about this! I’ll be in big trouble!”
The mention of her parents sent Lisa into a panic.
Reluctantly, Lisa left with the professors.
Soon, only Alice and Lana remained in the dorm.
Alice looked at Lana.“Some people are beyond saving. Lisa was the one who tried to frame me first.”
“I know. Lisa brought this on herself.”
Lana didn’t want to get involved further. Lisa’s fate was what she deserved.
Besides, many dorm residents had witnessed Lisa talking to David last night. If Lisa hadn’t said anything, things might have been swept under the rug.
As long as Alice, didn’t press charges, the school would’ve tried to minimize the damage.
But Lisa was stupid and selfish.
No one could help her now.
Having no classes in the morning, Alice opened her laptop and organized the evidence from David’s phone.
There were details of David taking bribes, embezzling club funds, and even match–fixing.
But there was no evidence of money laundering for the Garcia family.
It seemed David had deleted everything after learning about the club member’s report.
She only found a financial statement related to the Garcia family’s investment in the gaming team, but it wasn’t

sufficient as evidence.
However, telling the Garcia family she had evidence was enough to give David a hard time.
The Garcias would definitely silence David to avoid further trouble!
Alice submitted the evidence, reporting David for dereliction of duty as team captain.
In the afternoon, Alice and Lana went to class, hearing whispers about the dorm incident everywhere.
Alice walked into the classroom, used to the curious stares.
After class, her advisor texted her, “Come to my office after class.”
Alice guessed it was about her report on David.
She’d made the report publicly, without hiding anything.
Lana looked at Alice.“Should I come with you to testify?”
“No, the evidence is sufficient. Can you grab my books?”
Lana nodded. “I’ll head back then.”
Alice went to the office alone.
The headmaster and the advisor were both there.
The headmaster’s tone was unfriendly. “Alice, you’re reporting David. Was it because of your quarrel that he snuck into your dorm?”

“Even if there was a conflict, David bribed the matron to enter the student dormitory and attempted assault! This isn’t the first time he’s done this! That’s what the school should investigate, not trying to twist a crime into a quarrel!”
The headmaster raised his voice.“Alice, speak properly! We’re asking you a question!”
But Alice stood her ground. With so much evidence, she wouldn’t compromise.
Then, Luke burst into the office.“The one who should be speaking properly is ‘you‘! Alice didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you trying to manipulate her and distort the facts?”
Alice frowned when she saw Luke. What was he doing here?
Coldly, she told Luke, “Please leave the office.”
The headmaster pointed at Luke.“It’s none of your business. Please leave! This is an office, not a public space.”
Luke slammed his hand on the desk. “I’m Alice’s brother, her guardian. Why can’t I be here?”
A guardian?
The headmaster wilted at the mention of a guardian.“Isn’t Alice an orphan?”
The advisor spoke up.“Sir, I told you; she’s not an orphan.”
The headmaster hadn’t been present during the online rumors incident.
But he and the principal had been thoroughly embarrassed.
“Who said Alice is an orphan? Our parents passed away a long time ago, but she has brothers!”
The advisor whispered, “But the person who came last time wasn’t you.”
“That was my second brother. We have 6 siblings!”
The headmaster’s attitude immediately softened.“Sir, we’re investigating the truth!”
Luke angrily addressed the advisor.“The school needs to explain what happened in the dorm. If Alice hadn’t been

quick–witted, last night could have been far worse. Is this how you ensure student safety?
The headmaster was thoroughly criticized.
He apologized cautiously. “Our work was indeed inadequate. Alice is a victim. We’ll investigate thoroughly, You can leave now, Alice.”
“No, the Welch family will not let it go!”
Alice was irritated. “Luke, what’s wrong with you? Who told you to claim to be my family? I have nothing to do with the Welch family!”
She turned to the headmaster.“I have all the evidence. If the school tries to protect David, I’ll sue!”
The headmaster wiped his sweat. “We never said it would protect David. We just wanted to clarify the situation. You’ve misunderstood!”
This Alice was difficult to handle!
There was nothing they could do now.
Having achieved her goal, Alice left the office.
Luke followed her, his tone cautious. “Noah heard about this and told me to support you. He says he’s ashamed to face you.”
“I would’ve been fine without you! Don’t interfere, and don’t try to claim any familial relationship with me!”
Alice’s tone was resolute.
“Alice, do you really think you can handle this alone?”
Alice saw Ethan and Chloe coming down the stairs. Her sarcastic smile deepened.
Ethan, stony–faced and reeking of alcohol, said, “David is connected to the Garcia family! Do you know what kind of trouble you’ve gotten yourself into?”
So here came the reckoning.
