Edgar pursed his thin lips and strode out of the restaurant without saying a word.
Tim had no choice but to call his subordinates to let them go.
Lucy and Mr. Jameson were tied up in a dark room, shivering.
She had never dreamed Sylvia would be familiar with someone as powerful as Edgar, and her jealousy of Sylvia deepened.
Sylvia was just an orphan raised in an orphanage. On her resume, she seemed to be divorced.

Lucy was overjoyed. “It’s a deal.”
The guy nodded, his eyes gleaming with desire. “Babe, I’ve been there for you through thick and thin. Don’t you think it’s time you gave me a little something in return?”
Lucy blushed and pouted, “You’re so annoying!”

Lucy drove to the company in high spirits.
Before the meeting, Sylvia coincidentally found herself in the same elevator as Lucy, heading upstairs. Unable to resist a playful jab, she quipped, “Well, well, Ms. Gordan, you look quite radiant today. It seems like you had a restful night’s sleep.”

With this thought in mind, she lifted her chin proudly, approached Sylvia, and delivered her words with a sarcastic tone. “Oh, Director Lancelot, I’d be simply delighted to be your friend. Sadly, it seems you’re on the verge of losing your job. I’m afraid our chance to work together in the future will be quite slim.”
Sylvia sneered and glanced at her as if she was looking at a fool. “Really?”

Sylvia went out first.
