Caleb felt a burning pain on his face.
He hadn’t expected to be injured so severely. If the damage was permanent, his acting career would be over.
He’d been aiming for Best Actor this year; now, his face was ruined, and his dreams were
shattered.
Ethan pressed Caleb down.“Calm down. Your wounds aren’t healed yet. You’re still on IV. “Ethan, Alice ruined me! This was all planned. If she hadn’t set me up, I wouldn’t be injured!”
Caleb was in a frenzy, unable to listen.
Ethan, seeing Caleb’s injuries, hesitated.“Don’t worry, Caleb. Noah’s a doctor; repairing your face shouldn’t be a problem.”
Caleb calmed down slightly, looking around.“Where’s Alice? She hurt me like this, is she afraid to
see me?”
Noah approached.“Caleb, you were the one who attacked Alice. How could she have hurt you?”
“Noah, you’re biased towards Alice. Of course, you’ll defend her.”
Caleb refused to admit he’d started the fight; confessing would end his career.
He was deliberately acting for the police, who approached them.
“Mr. Welch, why did you attack your sister? She was also injured.*
“We were rehearsing a scene. I was coaching her, but she live–streamed it, slandered me, and then called the police.”

Noah glared at Chloe.“Alice isn’t that kind of person.”
Caleb’s voice was hoarse.“You can ask the crew about my sister’s poor acting and the delays. I’m telling the truth.”
“Mr. Welch, if you were rehearsing, why was Alice injured?”
“My sister wanted a realistic performance, but I didn’t hit her hard. Her injuries aren’t my fault.” Caleb feigned weakness.“I never expected my sister to plot against me. I want to know why.” Ethan was furious.“Why? You tried to get Alice to drop the charges, and she refused. She plotted against you so you’d be out of her life.”
Chloe tried to smooth things over. “Ethan, talk to Alice. Slandering Caleb like that is wrong.” Noah let out a cold laugh, disappointed in Ethan.

She cautiously asked, “Weren’t you Caleb’s PR team? What about him?”
Ms. Welch, I was sidelined at the company and given this difficult assignment. Caleb’s situation is too messy; I’d rather work for you.”
Elena was frank.“You shouldn’t give any media interviews. Take a leave from school. Wait for the police’s report. By the time you’re discharged, the investigation should be complete.”
“That’s my plan,” Alice said, friending Elena.
“I won’t underpay you.”

Jack strode over.“You’re the reason Alice’s hurt! Remember? You only bring her misfortune. Do you have the right to say you’re worried?”
The PR team instantly focused on their boss when Jack came.
Noah’s face was etched with bitterness.“I know, but this is different. Caleb doesn’t play by the rules.”
Caleb was connected to the underworld; Noah feared Caleb would send someone to take Alice.

Jack’s eyes were cold.“Trying to take Alice from this hospital? You overestimate your family.”
Hearing Jack’s voice, Alice went to the doorway.
Her tone was cold at Noah.“Leave. You only bring me misfortune!”
Noah grabbed her wrist.“Alice, I’m on your side. I… Kaff…”
Noah covered his mouth; blood flowed.
He wiped it with his sleeve and turned, panicked.“I… I’m leaving.”
Alice’s hand paused and then retracted.
