Just as she walked a few steps, Caleb’s voice stopped her.“I accept your terms,” he said with frustration.
Alice turned to see the usually arrogant Caleb leaning against a wall, his back slightly bent, a far cry from his former haughty demeanor. He eventually made his way to her.“We need to work together to stop Ethan from controlling my company.”
“So you don’t want to run a company with your beloved brother anymore?”
Caleb chuckled bitterly.“Since Ethan is so stubborn, I can’t sacrifice myself.” He couldn’t let his life’s work be stolen. Since Ethan was so -protective of Chloe, Caleb wouldn’t let his company be a bargaining chip.
Soon, Klaus delivered the gala attire. Alice changed, noticing Caleb in a suit, his facial scars hidden behind a mask. At first glance, he looked as usual.
Alice said, “Doing this will only offend Ethan. Will Alex agree to do reconstructive surgery for you?” Alex was skilled in surgery. And Ethan still held considerable power within the Welch family. After all, money talked.
“Alex isn’t that kind of person. I told him what happened recently. Not everyone will be easily fooled by Chloe.”

Ethan said something conventional and then looked at Chloe.“Northern Entertainment has been struggling for a long time, but thankfully, I have a talented sister.” Applause erupted.
Chloe, basking in the spotlight, walked onto the stage with her high heels. After years of hard work, she was finally here.
Then, two people entered. Seeing Alice, Chloe’s smile froze. She scolded in her heart, “That bitch! What is she doing here with Caleb?”
A bad feeling washed over her. How could Ethan announce her as the writer with Alice here?

Klaus announced loudly, “Caleb has been discharged and is here for the gala.” He clarified Caleb’s identity because Caleb wore a mask to cover
his scars.
Caleb strode onto the stage, facing Ethan. “Ethan, mind if I say a few words? I’ve been following this project closely.”
Ethan’s grip tightened on the microphone. He asked with a low voice, “Why did you bring Alice here?”
“Ethan, you thanked our talented sister, right? That’s why I brought her here. Otherwise, who do you want to introduce to everyone here?” Caleb turned to Chloe on the stage. Replacing our real sister with an adopted sister? That’s inappropriate.”
He deliberately raised his voice so people near them could hear.
Chloe’s face turned ashen. She hadn’t expected Caleb to bring Alice to disrupt things! She thought Caleb wouldn’t defy Erhan, so she didn’t pretend in front of him earlier and even mocked him. She should’ve kept up the act. Then, maybe Caleb wouldn’t have brought Alice here.
Ethan glared at Caleb.“That’s enough! You’re ruining my plan!”
“Ethan, you plan to publicly announce our real sister as the writer, don’t you?”
After saying that, Caleb turned to Alice.“Alice, come up and I’ll introduce you to everyone!”
Alice, adjusting her dress, walked onto the stage. Stopping beside Chloe, she extended her hand. ‘Do you want to join me?”
