Alice laughed, enraged by Ethan’s words.

Alice burst out laughing. Turning to her fellow screenwriters, she said, “Did you hear that? Chloe’s ‘contributions‘ were all unusable ideas. She said something useless, and wanted her name on my script”
The other writers were incensed.
“That’s shameless! Claiming credit without doing the work.”
I’ve heard the Welch family treat their real sister badly and favor the adopted one. I see it now,”
These writers had penned countless stories featuring goody–two–shoes. They recognized Chloe’s tactics.
Chloe stammered, “That’s not true! I really participated in writing the script.”
“If she has proof, she can show her contributions. No need for this pitiful acting.”
Chloe couldn’t answer. She had no such evidence. She looked to Ethan for help.
Ethan was furious. He glared at Caleb.“Don’t think bringing Alice here can change anything. I’ve decided to let Chloe manage the company. You should rest for a while. Just let the dust settle.” As the majority shareholder, Ethan had the final say.
A gleam of triumph shone in Chloe’s eyes.“Caleb, don’t worry. I’ll manage it well. If I have any questions, I’ll ask you.”
Alice scoffed, Caleb’s been running the company. Chloe, you even scored zero on the SAT. I’m afraid you probably can’t even understand the company’s accounts, let alone manage it.”
Ethan felt embarrassed.“Alice, you’re a screenwriter, not a businesswoman. From now on, all your scripts need Chloe’s approval.”
Chloe beamed, smugger than ever. Even though she couldn’t replace Alice as a screenwriter, Alice would be working for her.
She leaned towards Alice and said, “Alice, I know you’re a talented writer, but you can’t succeed without the company’s support. Write better scripts. Otherwise, we won’t support you anymore.”
Chloe whispered, “No matter how hard you try, you can’t beat me.”
Alice shoved Chloe away and said coldly.
“Caleb practically begged me to write those scripts. They were quickly filmed because I’m good, not because the company helped me and supported me. I told you that you know nothing about business.”
Caleb stepped forward.“That’s right. I begged Alice to write those scripts. She’s a newcomer, but her talent is undeniable.”
“But without the company, the screenwriter’s script is nothing!” Chloe couldn’t stand Caleb defending Alice.
Hearing this, Alice laughed, “Did you hear that? She said we screenwriters are nothing.”
That enraged the other writers.
Chloe realized her mistake and explained, “That’s not what I meant. I meant Alice, not everyone here.”
Someone interjected, “Mr. Ethan, how can you let an outsider manage the company? Are you trying to hasten its collapse?”
Ethan looked at Chloe and felt disappointed. He scolded in his heart, “Such a fool!” But he still defended her.“I’ll hire professional managers. Chloe will learn from them. The company’s management will be fine.”
“Ethan, you’re not the one calling the shots on the general manager candidate.”
Caleb saw Ethan’s stubbornness. Ethan wouldn’t stop feeding Chloe resources. But Caleb wouldn’t hold back.
Ethan sneered, “I’m the majority shareholder. My word is law.”
“Not anymore from today.”
Noah, in a wheelchair, appeared. His face was grim.“My and Caleb’s shares will be transferred to Alice. She’ll be the majority shareholder.”
A gasp went through the hall. Ethan’s face changed. He whispered, “What are you doing?” He hadn’t expected them to gang up on him!

Noah said, “Ethan, are you sure you want to talk here? The only one losing face is you.”
Ethan nodded and retreated to a break room with a cold face.
Alice hadn’t expected Noah to show up. Hadn’t Ethan imprisoned him?

Caleb addressed the crowd. “Sorry for the scene, but Alice will manage the company in the future. You’ve seen her writing talents. I hope we can collaborate in the future.”
Hearing this, Chloe was enraged and followed Ethan.
Alice, Caleb, and Noah went to a corner. She looked at Noah with surprise.“How did you get here?”
*Caleb had someone get me out. I came here immediately. The company can’t fall into Chloe’s hands.” He knew the company was Caleb’s life’s work, but he had never imagined Ethan’s favoritism could reach this level.
Caleb chuckled bitterly, “We underestimated Chloe’s scheme.”
Noah looked at Alice, his tone gentle.“Alice, don’t worry. I’ll always support you.”
Alice didn’t respond. She turned around and walked towards the break room. Caleb followed with Noah.
Alice walked into the break room first and saw Chloe whispering to Ethan. Ethan glared at her with murderous intent.
Ethan stormed up to Alice. “Alice, I didn’t expect you to be this capable. You stormed out, claiming no relationship with the Welch family. But now you’re back for the inheritance. Shameless!”
“You knew the script was mine, yet you wanted to put Chloe’s name on it. Shame on you!”
Ethan was momentarily speechless.“But Chloe actually contributed to this. How could you publicly humiliate her?”
“Can you swear to that? If it’s false, may your company go bankrupt, every project fail, and you lose everything.”
Alice looked at Ethan.“Can you swear?”
Ethan didn’t answer, his anger flaring.“It’s superstition!”
“Even if it’s superstition, you don’t dare to swear. You know you’re lying.” Alice knew Ethan did it to take what was hers and to force her
submission.
Ethan retorted, “Alice, if you hadn’t pushed our family to this point, I wouldn’t have done this!”
“I learned from you.”
Alice raised her chin and laughed. “I’m the majority shareholder now. You don’t call the shots!”
Ethan went berserk.
