A FORCED CONTRACT MARRIAGE WITH THE DEVIL
Chapter 147
Arriving at the café with Alessandro, I couldn’t help but feel like everyone was watching us.
Just like last time, I went on date with him.
Being famous had its perks of course, but when you were standing next to a man such as Alessandro, that alone made people wonder if an event was happening, since being who I was, was a rising actor, on an instant hit TV show, and Alessandro being who he was…
…We stood out.
There were roughly ten people inside the café, in groups, and I didn’t even need to look hard to figure out who Alessandro wanted me to meet.
LEAH SALVATORE
As shocking it was she was seated at the center of the room, the best–lit table positioned like a stage. Two men in dark suits stood close by bodyguards, unmistakably. Their eyes scanned every face in the café like they expected trouble to walk in at any second.
Leah, meanwhile, sat like she had nothing to fear. Her skin glowed with a rich, warm tone, flawless and smooth under the soft café lights. Her hair was styled in sleek, black waves that framed her face like something from a perfume ad.
Everything was fine on her but I was still dumbfounded. In all people, I had no idea that Alessandro would drive me to meet her.
Like seriously?!
But I had nothing to do anymore.
I was really in it now, there was no running, and even if I could… I wouldn’t. It terrified me but being next to Alessandro made me feel invincible, just standing next to him made me feel bulletproof, even in moments like this, where I should have been terrified.
“That’s the person I want you to meet ” He told me, yet all I could think of was what we were going to talk about with Leah.
“Ahh.. okay“, I stammered then followed behind him, moving past people to the table she was sitting at.
The moment Leah’s eyes fall on me, a frown immediately appeared on her face.
Her frown said more than words could have.
She didn’t offer a greeting. Didn’t extend a hand. She just stared.
Alessandro, meanwhile, acted like this was normal. He pulled out a chair across from Leah and nodded for me to sit beside him. I hesitated for just a second, long enough for Leah to notice.
Then I sat.
“Leah,” Alessandro began, his voice low and easy, “this is important and I want you to behave throughout ”
She arched a brow, lifting her glass and taking a slow sip, never taking her eyes off me.
“I assumed it would be,” she said finally, her voice smooth but edged like glass. “You don’t summon me in public unless it is.”
“For the sake of my relationship with Nikolai, so meet him“, Alessandro said professionally.
Leah turned to me, her eyes narrowing just slightly, like she was peeling back my skin with a look.
“Figures,” she murmured, setting her glass down with an elegant clink. “You look younger in person.”

wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or a warning.
Alessandro didn’t flinch. He leaned back in his chair, his arm brushing against mine like a quiet anchor. “He’s smart, grounded, and not interested in your theatrics. Try not to scare him off. This is the last time I am peacefully telling you this“,
Leah rolled her eyes. “Please. If he
can handle you, he’ll survive me.”
Her attention shifted back to me quickly. “This bastard has really made you weak, I have never seen you scoop so low Alessandro“,
“Behave Leah“, Alessandro warned in a low voice.
“You don’t know what he’s dragged you into, do you?” she asked, tilting her head slightly, like I was a child.
“Don’t think you bringing Nikolai to me will hurt me and stop the marriage ceremony“, “I know that you don’t love me but we both know what will happen after“,
“This little romance of yours,” she continued, waving a hand lazily between us, “it doesn’t end with a sunset and matching rings. It ends in blood. Either his, or yours.”
Alessandro leaned forward, his voice dropping low and cold. “Enough.”
Leah didn’t flinch. She was daring him–baiting him. “I’m not wrong. You and I both know how this world works. You think they’ll let you keep him? You think he’ll survive this world we built?”
“I didn’t come here to argue,” Alessandro said, the warning unmistakable now. “I came here to make it clear. I don’t love you. I haven’t for
years.”
She blinked. Just once. But her jaw tightened.
“You’re with him, then?” she asked, voice suddenly too quiet.
“I am,” he said. “And I’m willing to give up everything for him.”
“Then you’re both already dead,” she said with a jaw clenched. “Leah I came here to warn, if you don’t stay the hell out of Nikolai’s life, I will make sure that no Salvatore walks away from this unscathed.” He coldly spoke then suddenly stood up.
It was strange but I followed too then walked behind him.
“You don’t get to leave!” she shouted suddenly, the quiet restraint in the cafe fracturing. “You don’t get to throw everything away and win!”
Heads turned. Conversations stopped all because of her outburst.
Alessandro paused mid–step, spine rigid, but he didn’t turn around.
She wasn’t finished unfortunately.
“You think this is love?” she demanded, voice high, teetering on the edge of rage and heartbreak. “You think what you have with him is enough to survive this war? You don’t know what you’re walking into.?“,
He looked over his shoulder slow, controlled, and deadly calm.
“I do,” he said. “And I’d rather die with him than rot one more day pretending with you.” The moment Alessandro spoke that, Leah’s breath hitched and her chest rose sharply. Her hands curled into fists at her sides, nails biting into her own skin, but she said nothing.
She was totally embarrassed and everyone in the room was recording her.
Her silence was louder than her scream had been.

Chapter 147
Alessandro publically chose me over her. He didn’t even care about the paparazzi. He just walked toward the door. I followed, though my pulse was now thundering in my ears.
