fell asleep.”
“You’re lying! You drugged me and brought me here. You knew what would happen. You wanted to frame me!”
Chloe wanted to kill Alice.
Alice retorted, “How do you know what I knew? Do you
have proof?”
“Of course! The hallway cameras…”
Cameras?
Chloe remembered she had asked Davis to turn off the security cameras to erase
her
presence.
She had no proof that Alice had brought her here.
What could she do now?
Alice’s eyes were cold.“You’re talking about the cameras, right? Go check. Why aren’t you continuing? You know Davis disabled them. There’s no evidence now.”
“I… I didn’t know. You disabled them!”
Chloe was flustered and evasive.
Ethan was overwhelmed.“What really happened?”
Alice picked up the milk glass.“The milk was drugged. Anyone who drinks it falls asleep. Chloe and I discussed the plan. She asked me not to lock my door, and the drunk Davis came in.” Chloe immediately explained, “I didn’t know! You fired Davis. He resented you and did this.” She had a prepared excuse.
Alice nodded. “You’re probably right. Who knew you’d fall asleep in my room? I went to the bathroom, and this happened.”
“That’s not true!”
Chloe denied it. She hadn’t been asleep.
Alice pressed,“Are you saying I knew Davis would assault me and deliberately bring you here?” Chloe wouldn’t
say that. She cried, “Ethan, I was in my room. Alice brought me here!” Alice looked at Ethan.“Chloe fell asleep in my room. She’s mistaken.” With no security footage, Chloe’s claims were unsubstantiated. Chloe sobbed.“Ethan, believe me!”
Alice smirked at Ethan.“You still only believe Chloe, right? I can’t
stay here.”

Ethan was flustered.
Alice was hot–tempered. He dared not provoke her.
Noah said, “Let’s question Davis when he wakes up. Maybe he doesn’t even know who was on the bed.”
Caleb agreed.“It’s Alice’s room. It was clearly aimed at her.”
Chloe’s heart sank.
If Davis woke up, she’d be exposed.
“Lock Davis in the basement. I’ll question him tomorrow.”
Caleb objected.“No need to wait. Let’s confront him now or someone can still make excuses.”
He’d been tricked by Chloe before and wanted Ethan to see her true nature.
To avoid any uncertainties…
Caleb dragged Davis to the bathroom and splashed cold water on him.
Chloe looked worried. She needed a plan to prevent Davis from exposing her.
Alice noticed her nervousness and smirked. She wanted to see Chloe’s defense.
Davis woke up screaming.
Caleb dragged him out.“Who told you to do that?”
Before Davis could speak, Chloe attacked him.“You bastard! Who told you to do this to me? I’ll kill you!”
The stunned Davis, seeing Chloe’s disheveled state, said, “It’s you?”
It was Alice’s room. Shouldn’t she be the one on the bed?
What happened?
Chloe, sobbing, had bruises on her neck.
Davis gulped, realizing he’d assaulted Chloe. He felt strangely pleased.
Chloe slapped him.“Who told you to do that?”
Davis looked at Alice.“It was her! Ms. Alice told me to do it!”
Chloe’s
gaze turned cold. She looked at Alice with feigned heartbreak.“Alice, it was you! You made me revise the plan late at night and made me drink the milk…”
She sobbed.
Alice laughed.“Impressive. Your acting is terrible in dramas but excellent in life!”
She didn’t expect Chloe to try still to blame her.
Chloe, sobbing, looked at Ethan.“Ethan, this is the truth. You can’t be impartial just because she’s your sister. I’m the victim!”

Before Alice could answer, Noah defended her.“Ethan, I believe Alice is innocent.”
Caleb agreed.“Davis clearly targeted Alice.”
Davis added, “Ms. Alice seduced me. I didn’t know it was Ms. Black.”
He’d sleep with Chloe so he’d protect her.
Chloe cried, “Ethan, I’m calling the police! I can’t bear it.”
Ethan hesitated.“We can’t.”
Chloe was shocked by his attitude.
Ethan coughed.“It will damage your reputation. Mrs. Yates won’t approve of you marrying into her family.”
Chloe felt fear and anger.“Ethan, Alice did this! She must pay!”
That old man had assaulted her!
At the thought of it, Chloe was outraged.
Ethan said to Alice, “We can’t call the police, but you’ll pay the price. Give Chloe the charity foundation. No one mentions this again!”
Alice laughed.“I’m the victim!”
Noah said, “Davis and Chloe planned this. Chloe reaped what she sowed.”
Ethan’s eyelids twitched.“But Davis said Alice enticed him. Alice, prove it.”
“Of course.”
Alice took her phone.“I recorded everything.”
Chloe’s face paled.
