Chapter 124
The young sales assistant held up two fingers. “You’re amazing. Sera
Seraphina remained silent, sighing inwardly. No matter how high the commission, it was all going to cover the cost of that ruined shirt.
“Ms. Johnson, the man called from inside the fitting room.
“Sir.” Seraphina knocked lightly before entering.
The man stood before the dressing mirror, fastening his watch Elis posture was effortlessly elegant and strikingly handsome. The clothes fit him like they were tailor–made, exuding an air of nobility.
Str, you wear this suit more gracefully than any model I’ve seen in magazines. Seraphina complimented him.
The man smiled faintly. He casually extended his wrist toward Seraphina, revealing a small thread sticking out from the cuff’s gold button. “Pay more attention to the details”
on our part. We’ll make sure to be
Seraphina’s mind went blank for a moment. Tm terribly sorry. That was an oversight on our par more careful in the future.” She apologized with a quick bow
The man said nothing, simply turning slightly in front of the mirror.
Seraphina straightened up and gently smoothed the back of his suit, making it appear even more refined. In the mirrors reflection, their figures stood out–he, dignified and poised; she, breathtakingly beautiful.
From her side profile, Seraphina’s fitted uniform accentuated her slender waist and graceful curves, an image of understated
allure.
A flicker of interest appeared in the man’s eyes.
But Seraphina, focused solely on adjusting his suit, remained oblivious.
Sir, the suit looks incredible on you. Have you considered purchasing it?” After making the final adjustments, Seraphina smiled and added, “This is the only one available in our flagship store across the Southwest. There are only three in the whole country, so it’s quite the limited edition
“If you like it, I can offer you a 2% discount with my employee card. Normally, our new arrivals don’t get any discounts”
“Alright, let’s go ahead with it, the man agreed without hesitation
“Thank you, sir.” Seraphina bowed slightly. Though her smile remained calm, she couldn’t hide a touch of delight. With the suit sold, at least part of her losses would be covered
The man decided to wear the new suit out of the store since the gold shirt didn’t pair well with his black trench coat
Seraphina escorted him to the checkout counter Turning to the cashier, she said, ‘Celina, ring up the shirt and the suit separately. I’ll cover the cost of the shirt. Then, she looked back at the man. “Sir, you’ll only need to pay for the suit. I’ll buy the shirt as compensation. Please wait for a moment while 1 get my card”
The man remained silent, the faint curve of his lips hinting at a smile.
Seraphina nodded and went to the break room. She opened her locker and took out a deposit card. The 30 thousand dollars og it was compensation from Jeremy, something she hadn’t touched yet. Without it, she wouldn’t have enough to cover the
cost of the man’s shirt
Returning to the cashier, Seraphina noticed the man was gone. Where did he go?” she asked.

Celina replied. “He already paid and left.”
“Oh Seraphina handed over her card. “Here, charge me for the thirt
Celina chuckled. “A man that wealthy and handsome? There’s no way he’d let you pay for his shirt. He covered it, too, and asked me to pass along a message–thank you.”
Seraphina was stunned, “He paid for everything?”
“Yep, Celina replied, holding up two signed credit card receipts mean, how could a guy let a beautiful woman like you. pay? His signature is really something. So hold and elegant, but can’t recognize a single character”
Seraphina was at a loss for words.
Just then, another salesgirl came over, casually placing her hand on Seraphina’s shoulder. “That man clearly isn’t short on money. There’s no way he’d let you cover the shirt. He probably just wanted an excuse to spend more time with you, boost your sales, and leave a good impression.
These two items? Over tens of thousands of dollars. Sera, you’re the top salesperson today again.”
Exactly, Celina chimed in. “He must come from some wealthy family. Sera, looks like your first day on the job has brought a stroke of hick. Who knows, maybe he got that shirt dirty on purpose just to have a reason to talk to you.
“What are you even talking about?” Seraphina protested, feeling a bit embarrassed. “It’s not what you
think”
“Sera, we’ve seen this sort of thing plenty of times, another sales assistant came over and added. “There was a girl here before just as beautiful as you. She served a rich young guy once, and then she married him and enjoyed a good life.
“Let’s be real–working in a luxury store like this, we’re all waiting for that big catch. Mark my words. Sera, he’ll be back within three days. And then? Who knows, he might even ask you out to dinner.”
Seraphina couldn’t figure out how to respond.
“What’s his last name anyway? Let’s see which family’s young heir we’re dealing with, the two girls asked Celina for the receipts.
Celina handed them over, but after staring at the signature for a while, they could not make out the stylized characters.
Seraphina didn’t dwell on it. She figured the man was simply being a gentleman, not wanting her to pay for the shirt. Just as the girls said someone like him wouldn’t care about the cost of a simple shirt.
It was already 10 PM when Seraphina finished work. She made her way to the bus stop to catch the last bus. Her feet were a Linde sore from standing all day, but she felt fulfilled. Despite the long hours, there wasn’t an ounce of fatigue weighing on
her
There were only a few people left at the bus stop. Seraphina sat down on a bench, pulled out her earphones, and was just about to put them on when she heard the sound of a car horn.
Seraphina looked up to see a red Ferrari, its top down, parked in front of her. The driver, a stylish girl wearing stinglasses, was none other than Lucia.
“Sera” Lucia waved.
Seraphina stood up and walked over. “Lucia”
Lucia removed her sunglasses and smiled, “Sera, what are you doing here? Waiting for Clarry to pick you up?”
Seraphina’s smile faltered.

Though subtle, Seraphina’s shift didn’t escape Lascia’s notice. Lucia sensed something was wrong. She quickly patted the passenger seat. “Hop in. Wherever you’re headed, I’ll give you ande
Even though Seraphina and Clarence had broken up, she and Lucia still had a solid friendship. Without hesitation, she opened the door and got in.
As Lucia drove off, she turned off the music and asked cautiously, “What’s going on with you and Clarry?”
“We broke up.” Seraphina answered calmly
Lucia nearly slammed on the brakes, glancing at Seraphina in disbelief. “You must have had a fight”
“No,” Seraphina corrected Lucia, her tone serious. “We really broke up.”
Lucia finally pulled over to the side of the road, turning to face Seraphina, still in shock. “But you two were so in love. Clarry adored you. How could this happen?”
Seraphina smiled faintly, “Exactly, he adored me. But how long can someone keep up that kind of adoration?”
