Chapter 34
“Christopher Matthew knew that Christopher was doing it on purpose.
But Yvonne smiled faintly and said. “No need for more medicine. Just no more booze,
“Of course. You’re right. Matthew nodded.
William also nodded repeatedly. “I’ll surely take good care of him from now on, Ms. Lynch.”
Yvonne helplessly corrected, “Just call me Yvonne
“No. I wouldn’t dare call you by your name, William said.
Christopher smirked, changing the subject. “If you and Grandpaweren’t in cahoots, how did he manage to get the drink?”
“I promise I won’t mess up again.” William vowed.
“Oh, right!” Matthew suddenly remembered something and took out an exquisite wooden box. He opened it, revealing at beautiful crown necklace. “This is my wife Julianna’s favorite piece of jewelry. She mentioned that if Christopher ever brought a girl home to meet the family, this should be given to her.”
The crown was made of 999 top–grade diamonds, radiating opulence. Yvonne knew that this necklace had caused a global sensation back in the day. Crafted with top–notch diamonds and designed by a renowned artist, it was worth 1 billion dollars at the time and was even more valuable now.
“This gift is too precious for me to accept. Yvonne tried to decline, but Matthew interjected, saying. This is a gift from Julianna to her future granddaughter–in–law. You must accept it. If she were here, she would personally put it on you”
Mentioning his wife, Matthew’s expression clouded with sorrow, showing a deep sadness. Yvonne couldn’t help but glance at Christopher
Christopher calmly explained, “A few years ago, Grandma had a car accident. She’s still in a vegetative state. Though alive, she was as good as dead. She couldn’t move, speak, or feel pain. Despite consulting numerous specialists, not one could help improve her condition.
“Christopher, help Yvonne put this on Matthew handed the gift box to Christopher after Yvonne refused to accept it. He murmured, “I don’t know how many more days I have left. I hope I can witness your wedding. Several times, I felt like I couldn’t make it. If it weren’t for Julianna…
Yvonne felt unexpectedly moved upon hearing this.
“Sir, let’s not talk about this today. Ms. Lynch is here.” William was worried that sadness would make Matthew’s condition
worse.
“You’re right. Yvonne, come here. Let’s not talk about this anymore,” Matthew forced a smile.
“Here, I’ll help you put it on. Christopher’s slender fingers pulled out the necklace as he moved closer to Yvonne
Yvonne could smell his fresh scent. Though she wanted to refuse she couldn’t bear to do so after seeing Matthew’s hopeful eyes and recalling what he just said.
“It looks beautiful Christopher observed Yvonne’s features. She had a delicate appearance, and her bright eyes were full of vitality. The exquisite crown hung perfectly on her fair neck as if it were tailor–made for her.
“It suits you well. Christopher’s eyebrows slightly raised, his gaze gentle as water.
“If only Julianna could witness this moment, Matthew remarked.

Upon hearing this, a slight–sonile played on Christopher’s Lace Grandma as well”
Yvonne thought to herself, “Why is he making decisions for me again?”
Yvonne is free another day. I’ll take her to see
“Good idea!” Matthew was ecstatic. “When the time comes, we will all go together. Yvonne, how many more days do I have to stay in the hospital
“If everything stays stable, just three more days.” Yvonne answered.
“In that case, will you come pick me up then? We’ll go see Juliarma together” Matthew suggested.
Yvonne pondered for a moment and said, “Alright. She thought maybe she could check Julianna’s condition and help.
When Yvonne agreed, Matthew felt a wave of relief. They chatted for quite a while. As Yvonne was about to leave, she pulled out a delicate little bottle from her pocket and said. “This is for you”
Matthew was pleasantly surprised to have a gift to receive. Excitedly, he inquired, “What is this?”
Yvonne explained. “Sugar pills. Take one every month for half a year, and it will keep you in good health, ensuring you live up to a hundred years”
“Is there really such a wonderful product on earth? It must be quite expensive. Where did you get this from?” asked Matthew.
Matthew, at his age, pretty much had everything, but when it came to his health. All he truly yearned for was a long and healthy life. He never expected Yvonne to be so considerate, knowing exactly what mattered most to him,
“Can I eat one now?” Matthew couldn’t wait and hurriedly opened the bottle. He intended to pour out one pill, but in his excitement, he ended up spilling several into his palm.
Marty glanced at the word “Tongevity” on the pills, his eyes widening in surprise. He thought to himself, ‘Aren’t those the famous longevity pills that caused a stir at the auction? It’s rumored to be able to enhance health and prolong life, and it costs a whopping 15 million dollars per pill. The thing is, with such a high price and rarity, how did Ms. Lynch get so many of them? Judging by the quantity, Ms. Lynch would have to buy them for at least a decade to amass this many pills. But the thing is, Ms. Lynch is too young to need this stuff at all. Why would she spend so much money on these seemingly useless pills and carry them around all the time! Unless she made these pills herself, so she has as many as she wants!
Realizing this possibility, Marty looked at Christopher incredulously. Christopher clearly recognized the pills as well, furrowing his brows in thought. Looks like Yvonne is most likely the famous ‘Doctor Owens‘ in the industry. Many of the popular medicines at past auctions probably came from her. This could explain why she showed up near the Hodge Church near the auction house that day. Because on that day, she also went to the at
auction
Thinking about this, Christopher’s lips curled slightly, surprised by how many identities Yvonne had.
“Sir, you’ve hit the jackpot.” Marty couldn’t help but imply something.
“I know,” Matthew tried one pill. “Quite sweet, definitely a jackpot. Yvonne gave me so many at once, and they’re so tasty. Yvonne, could there be any harm in eating too many of these? Can I have one every day?”
Marty warned, “Don’t…”
Christopher said, “No.”
Confused, Matthew looked at them and asked. “Why not?”
Marty hesitated. It seemed like such a waste to have one expensive pill each day.
Christopher explained, “Yvonne said you can only have one pill per month”

“Fine.” Mathew reluctantly agreed.
