Chapter 30
“Grandpa wants to see you.” Christopher’s gaze fell on Yvonne. His voice was gentle yet alluring. “When are you available! Why don’t we visit him together?”
Yvonne, since Mr. Matthew Sanchez wants to see you, why not seize the moment? How about tomorrow? Cherry asked.
“If you don’t want to go as my fiancée, you can go on behalf of the Lynch family to show some care Christopher exuded at dignified and noble presence, using a concession as a way to advance.
“Great ideal” Yosef hadn’t expected Christopher to be so clever.
Yes, exactly. Go on behalf of our family and convey our goodwill, Cherry echoed in agreement.
Yvonne thought. Is nobody asking for my opinion?”
Cherry said, “It’s decided then. Youne, visit Mr. Matthew Sanchez tomorrow. You’ve been home for two days now. It’s time.
After all, Matthew proposed this engagement, and Christopher was a decent man. Matthew was still in hospital, and it seemed the situation was not optimistic. It’s proper for Yvonne to visit him and express some goodwill.
Yep, that’s right. You should go visit him.” Yosef smiled as he arranged. “Bring some gifts. You can’t show up empty–handed”
“No need for a gift. Just being there is enough. Christopher’s voice was crystal clear.
No. This is Yvonne’s first meeting with Mr. Matthew Sanchez. She can’t skip the formalities. Yosef insisted.
“Til handle that.” Christopher’s eyes softened as he looked at Yvonne. “Shall we set a specific time?”
Yvonne’s proud face softened as she saw her parents‘ expectant gazes, saying, “Alright” Then she thought to herself, I’m just going to check on Mr. Matthew Sanchez’s recovery situation. After all, I accepted Christopher’s check a couple of days ago.
Christopher exchanged a few brief words with Cherry and then got up to leave. He parted his lips and said softly, “I won’t disturb you any longer.”
“Leaving already? But you’ve brought so many gifts, Cherry said.
Her words trailed off as she saw Christopher pause and respond in a deep voice. “Just a little something.”
“Yvonne, why don’t you see Christopher off?” Cherry suggested.
Yvonne asked inwardly, Why me?
“It’s alright, Ms. Lynch. Please stay,” Yvonne was puzzled by Christopher’s emphasis on her surname. She glanced at Christopher’s faint smile and raised an eyebrow, thinking, ‘Could it be that he’s upset because I only told him my name and
not my surname?”
Actually, she had just acquired this surname two days ago, and she wasn’t very familiar with it yet.
“Go to bed early, my fiancée, Christopher said.
Yvonne thought, “Fiancée? When did I agree to that?”
Yosef and Cherry were thrilled. It seemed Christopher was quite pleased with Yvonne. This turn of events was way beyond. what they had expected.
Samantha couldn’t hold back anymore and rushed downstairs to the garden path where no one would see. “Christopher?” she yelled.

Chapter 30
Seeing Samantha hurling towards Christopher, Marty quickly
her way. “Ms Samantha Lynch, is everything okay?
With a heavy heart, Samantha looked at Christopher. “Mr. Matthew Sanchez’s health has gotten worse because of me. I feel guilty. Thank you for not bringing it up in front of my parents earlier. That would’ve been embarrassing”
Marty thought, “Mr. Sanchez just shrugged it off. He didn’t do it to be nice.”
Theard Mr. Matthew Sanchez is not doing well. I want to visit lum. Could you take me along tomorrow when you pick up Yvonne Samantha asked.
“No need” Christopher’s eyes held a hint of coolness. “He wants to see my fiancée, not you”
Samantha hadn’t expected such a clear refusal. Hoping against hope, she said, “Maybe Yvonne can go as your fiancée. I’ll just represent the Lynch family, Christopher, please, let me apologize to Mr. Matthew Sanchez.”
She gazed at Christopher, desiring his approval, but Christopher exuded a chill aura. His eyes hid secrets.
